I think they chose the wrong wash selection on the speed queen. There are other options that will give you agitation more like the Maytag.

Maytag is junk see the gap between the agitator and drum coins get into it a jam up the machine causing the hub to strip out

The newer 586GW0 eems to be temperamental cycle wise. We had it mess up a few times not filling fully despite using deep water and actually today will not agitate after fill.. and under a year old has failed to spin or agitate

Maytag ain't Maytag anymore. Just rebadged Whirlpool machines and closed down the Newton, Iowa Maytag plant and did away with all those jobs. WP bought Maytag just to eliminate the competition. My mother has a Maytag washer and dryer set that are thirty years old this year and they are still going every day.

Very deceiving video. The SQ is far superior in every way, including cleaning. The SQ DOES NOT rely on turnover, it relies on force of water thru fabrics. It's 1 HP motor and faster spin speed makes mincemeat out of the Maytag. Plus, it's easier on your fabrics. Notice how the SQ suspension doesn't rock back n forth while it washes? Because it's a far better machine. And yes, it will wash a light to medium weight king sized comforter.

They shouldn't use the tr5 for this they should have used the tc5. Then let's see who is the real cleaner. This is not justified fpr speed queen.

I bought the Maytag set at lowes 3 years ago and it has never given me any problems. The only thing I stopped using is the fabric softener dispenser because it doesn’t drain that great. I just ordered my mother the newer model for Mother’s Day and it brings the water levels in the new model.

Maytag is now owned by Whirlpool. Whirlpool bought Maytag and closed all the Maytag factories. No parts today in a Maytag washer are similiar to the last Maytags made in Iowa, Illinois, or Arkansas. All Maytag parts are Whirlpool parts. Since 2006. Whirlpool, Amana, and Maytag are all Whirlpool brands made in same factories with Whirlpool parts and Whirpool labor. Yes, the Whirlpool Maytag washing machine does have some upgraded Whirlpool internal parts.

To be apples to apples the Maytag (really a Whirlpool) should compared to Speed Queen TC series. The SQ TR series is for us city slickers. It's quieter, uses less water, less power and Less soap.. The TC SQ is a very aggressive old school washer. The TC pulls down and roll the clothes. Speed Queen is the closest to tradtitional Maytags your can get here in North America. Expensive yes, but well worth it.

Maytag had an excellent design already in the late 70s and 80s.. Those washers with the spinning transmission inside its cabinet. Durable, clear pump view , simple to check the belt . Everything looked so robust and very simple .

If i had to choose between these two. Maytag . The Speed Queen is Mickey Mouse washing.

Bro first 5 days of using a maytag the lid latch broke yep then 1 mouth it was off balance then 1 year it the agitator started to make noises and now its getting full repaired. Yeah " Industrial " washer. And speed queen 5 years nothing has happened.

I have a Maytag washer at home but it's not that exact washer. But it's just my Maytag Washer at home is in old school Maytag.

The SQ looks stupid. Agitator is like spinning its wheels. That yellow piece of fabric isn't getting washed. Dumb. Massive PHAIL !

What's inside does matter and what I see in the maytag is a different grade of metal drum and lots of white plastic. The speed queen is 100% stainless steel. For those looking for the different agitator, this is not even the correct model of speed queen to be using in comparison there's a different one that has an agitator like the Maytag. I bought this model of speed queen like the video because it's more gentle on clothes throughout the entire cycle.

Warning! In this video, Maytag is using the speed queen tr3 which is a completely different way of washing clothing. If they did this with a classic series speed queen, the wash action would be just as good. Speed queen uses high quality parts, Maytag uses mostly plastic.

The TC series have good rollover. I would say a bit of overloading is at play

Who washes 8 pairs of jeans at once? That seems like a way to skew the results . I am tired of having our clothes torn up by rough agitation. But I don't like the impeller's ability to clean. It seems to me Speed Queen has tried to find the happy medium between these two extremes with the TR7 models.

Hello maytag im in Houston tx and is been 9 months with this washer machine and is leaving soap residues and all the clothes and is no because Im using extra soap any solutions?

Maytag is definitely better than Speed Queen.

Just received the Maytag washer today. So I ordered this machine from their website on Tuesday and delivered within 3 days. Completely satisfied/Happy with this choice . Cleans clothes like a champ. It’s quiet. It gets the job done. Id recommend this Maytag to anyone.

These machines and customers service are horrible. I own two laundromats. Worst decision ever. Contact me and I’ll explain the reasons why you should not purchase these machines. I own dexter product and speed queen. By far the worst. They are also brand new.

Would really look at speed queen. Or Dexter. I just spent 300k and it was easily the worst decision I’ve made.

This is completely inaccurate! This is nowhere close to the agitation and rollover of the speed queen. This shows the clothes not rolling over at all or even swishing. They are literally just spinning in place! There are plenty live videos on youtube that show the real agitation and rollover on these machines.

Does anyone know how I would locate a Maytag Warranty Service Repair Technician for my area ? ...in case something would happen to the washer/dryer during the 5 year warranty. I went to the website and I was unable to locate a technician for my area.

Another episode of... Don't Buy this JUNK!!! - Had to yell at the Maytag folks when they tried to blame it on the house and the "Arc breakers". A little about myself. I'm a communications Engineer used to troubleshooting problems in strange areas of the world... ie, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia etc. So, I'm not a complete moron when it comes to common sense troubleshooting problems. My retort was, "If that were the case then why is the Samsung that is a larger capacity currently working? Or for that matter, why did the Maytag work for 4 months? Then when it started breaking down it wasn't tripping the breaker it had stopped spinning after the rinse" "Here is another troubleshooting technique. Bring in a known good one and test it on the system." (Sounds logical right?) Well, this is the 7th time the technician has come out and left with no resolution by them or Maytag. When do they throw in the towel and say it's junk? Maaaybe it's time to get a lawyer? I'm sure that there are others out there with this problem.

Guess what for all that are keeping up with my saga on the Junk Maytag COMMERCIAL! This is the 6th trip out the repairman has come. It's been down since Mid-Feb (I received it in Mid October 2021). Still DEAD JUNK sitting in my garage. The last fiasco was to change out the door latch... Nope. Junk Junk Junk! The repairman is fed up and has been working with Maytag. 4 motherboards down. and everything else too! Don't buy!!!

I don't know who makes these decisions in these corporations. Do they ever bear any consequences for their decisions?

My sq from 2016, could take that towel to the bottom and back in a couple of minutes, but it also tore up some items. Plus the basket is solid and it's never off balance. Never!

Tip for everyone.Order this model directly from Maytag the model # they sell comes with a 5year warranty u would have to pay extra for at say Lowe's or another appliance store.
