I know some of the lines are getting a bit repetitive. Still thought I'd share some clips from this final week of skiing in new Zealand before I go back home to Utah.

No right spins or anything for this video. Just techy freeride linez. I'm working on a season long project with 3rd person and music and everything so stay tuned.

it's been a pretty low snow year at the Remarkables this season and I haven't been able to put together as many lines as last year or the year before. but here's a handful of really scary lines with less than 50 cms of snowpack.

    Your knees... and you skis... could give a flyin phuck about snow conditions, right Henry? :) I hope people appreciate just how much harder it is in low tide conditions. Super impressive footage as always... but cant wait till the terrain options start to open up a bit for you.

    So sick! Do you have any tips for handeling the high speed runout in chunky snow? Is it leg strength? Is there a specific technique you learned that unlocked that skill? Whenever i get going that fast in chunky conditions i tend to wipe out.

    friggin sick bro. How do I learn backies if I can’t do them off skis

    • @henryzakowski5385
      @henryzakowski5385 8 днів тому

      Learn on trampoline first. If you live in Utah go to Woodward park city. Start with backdrops and progress to a backdrop with a roll over your back to get used to the motion. You can have someone spot you with a mat for your first attempts. Once you have it on trampoline I recommend just doing 100s. You can do about 100 in a session pretty easily. Do them tucked and laid out. High and low. If you have access to Woodward I recommend learning on rollerblades on a ramp into a foam pit. Do your first one on snow either into pow or slush. Make sure the jump has kick to it and puts you fairly high in the air. Alot of people do their first backy on jumps that are way too small. You got it.

    A few things I love about this aside from the obvious insane skiing. 1) The rate of speed that Henry skis is just insane, 2) He's not afraid to ski the correct width ski for different conditions. A lot of riders think you need to be "core" and ride 110-120 waisted skis even in the most bulletproof of conditions and the truth is, you don't & shouldn't. Pick the right width for the real conditions that you're skiing and skiing will be a lot easier for you. Sick footage!

      long time watcher; I wanna give you props for what you're posting. I've been riding dirty on the plank for 26 years, got pretty good at an amateur level, your first video inspired me to buy the ski swap $50 boot special, scored the "dad's-retiring-from-the-sport-free-hand-me-down" 1990's K2 skis and put in 1/2 days on skis like a kook, half day on snowboard to keep up the street credit. This year I finally hit the gym, got the quad strength and stamina. 2 seasons practicing under my belt now. I'm 39 yrs old, father of two kids and I'm slaying it like a BIG BOY! All because of you Henry, You got a warm place to stay if you're ever in Oregon. -Cheers
