Opening a 30 Year Old Time Capsule

On March 11, 1989, I made a time capsule. It has stayed sealed through all the life changes and moves. Today, on the 30 year anniversary of sealing it, I'm cracking it open!! About 1 week ago Dory and I put together a computer for the kids out of spare parts I had laying around. They have watched Mom and Dad play "the Elmo game" maybe 3 times. Tonight, AJ starting playing it on his own... WE NEVER EVEN SHOWED HIM HOW TO WORK A MOUSE!! ...like father, like son...

I made a time capsule with my best friend in the 90’s but he told me 20 years later that he waited a week before digging it up and taking everything home for himself! Couldn’t he have at least buried back our letters to ourselves! Jeeesh!

just put it in your attic and not burried it🤔 nice..i also made time capsule but i cant burried it because our place was cemented ill just put it in a closet and sealed😊
Mine was actually in several attics as we moved. 😁 Just make sure it's in a back corner that is safe from weather and safe from eyes (including your own - aka try to lose it up there)

I buried a time capsule in the yard of my parents first home in 1995. I wonder if anybody found it. It wasn't very deep at all and I would think the weather would have exposed it by now. Hm.

My dad did the same except he buried it in his backyard on August 14th 1980 when he was 10 years old We recovered it 40 years later it contained a bunch of stuff it had a mix tape his brother made for him in the summer of 1980 which contained the latest hits at the time, a Star Wars toy, a roll of Super 8mm film which we still don’t know what’s on it, a movie stub for Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, and a letter from his 10 year old self Which said Today is Thursday August 14th 1980 To whoever finds this in the year 2000, send it back to me through a time portal, so I can write you back on the current events of this year which are Jimmy Carter is president of the US, the rock group Queen just released a new album, there’s a new Star Wars movie out in theatres I’m looking forward to seeing the next one Those are the events that are happening in 1980 so please write back soon My dad had a wild imagination about the future

Great video! I recorded Star Trek eps from the TV back in the 1970's and listened to them in bed under the covers at night, too! 🖖😊 And my brother had a baseball cap piggy bank as well, though his was Cincinnati Reds! 😊
