When I heard about the death of Brian Jones, it was also for me the end of the Stones I liked. My friends didn't understand and considered that his role within the group was not that important. But for me, with Brian all the originality and flavor of their music disappeared. He represented the difference between being fashionable and creating fashion. I am happy to see that Brian's crucial importance is now being recognized.

@@elenikorkodelaki2695 I attended the concert in Lynn, Massachusetts in 1964 and the concert in Foxboro, Massachusetts last week, 2024. Despite all the visual displays last week the power of the Rolling Stones has waned. "Satisfaction" then and now a disappointment. "Steel Wheels" has morphed into "Steel Wheelchairs." 60 years has not been kind.

Really? "Cool" is such a Lie, cool in essence sadly sent Brian, and many others to an early grave. I liked Brian as far as the Incredible Musical Talent that he possessed. Albeit he seemed rather personable? But Cool=Selfish, and even Cruelty. Brian got a couple of girls pregnant in High School "So Cool" except for the girls he used for his pleasure, and the several children he sired, but did Not Father. Not so cool for them. The price of cool is very expensive. A sad tragic story all the way around, like so many of us that buy into the cool trap..

@@ruffian2952Just for perspective Ron Wood could have retired from show business after all his successful careers with the Jeff Beck group, Small faces and with Rod Stewart and he would not have anything to be ashamed of. But he didn't he then fulfilled his life long dream of becoming a Rolling Stone and he has been doing that successfully for the last 49 years. Aside from a snarky comment on a UA-cam video it is obvious to most everyone else that Ron has accomplished a thousand times what Brian could have ever dreamed of doing.

Seems like in almost every band there is one person who is just hanging on so to speak. One that drifts away from the pack or feels alienated in some way. At the start a band is such a great thing. For someone who's family was gone I am sure the substitute of having friends fill that void is comforting however the pressures of the reality soon catch up along with time and the constant sense of having to fill the gap that you are responsible for filling. One slip and down the hole we fall. It seems to take no time at all. A momentary laps of reason.

I’ve read that Chauvin composed many melodies but most weren’t written down. Beautiful melodies that were composed one day and forgotten the next. He met Joplin who wrote down two of Chauvin’s melodies. Joplin then composed two more strains that went wonderfully with Chauvin’s to become the Heliotrope Bouquet (1907). Chauvin’s name was listed first. Joplin had a good soul to match his genius, it seems.
