GoPro GPS fix
Переглядів 913Рік тому
Fix your missing GoPro GPS signal with this simple hack. The GoPro Media Mod allows you to connect an external microphone BUT the metal mount on top covers the GPS antenna. My car is a soft top - without the Media Mod the GPS can connect to satellites and works well. With the Mod connected there is no GPS signal. Drilling a 10mm hole in the top fixed the problem. Now I can add stickers to my vi...

Переглядів 5 тис.11 років тому
Adding rivets on a 1/4 scale radio-controlled Spitfire using the Mick Reeves painting method. The sticky strips have holes to let the paint through. See the alternative stick-on method here - ua-cam.com/video/mIOzH35ZPmE/v-deo.html

Using Mick Reeves vinyl cut stick-on rivets on a 1/4-scale Reeves Spitfire. The rivets are going on over primer and will be painted over later. Great video. Thank you for your time and effort to show this. I've seen so many videos of this area now I feel like I know my way around. Absolutely spectacular .
Awesome congrats!
never knew a 2 seat pawnee existed
It's a tight squeeze in there!
Bathurst Soaring Club has one that is dual control that they do towing endorsements with. The RAAF cadets also have one at Bathurst airport. There are around six 2 seat Pawnee's in Australia. VH-PPC which is at Bathurst Soaring Club was specifically built to their needs by Field Air Ballarat.
Nicely done! What was that app you used for the torque degrees?
Called ProTrac - Edward Legler . Just tape your phone to the wrench!
Flew with Mr Sanna and GJAF ( Arcus one month ago 😎
I really enjoyed your adventure, thanks for sharing and your narration.
😊
I built one of theise m96 engines a few years ago enjoyed the experience I upped the comp slightly and did some porting on the heads it went very well
Well done - it's not easy!
not the best editing video but respect you fixed everything by yourself, keep it up!
Respect 👍
Absolutely brilliant and inspiring. Matt DW986.
This is definitely on my bucket list!
Great video. Not sure I would have the courage to attempt it. Farthest I flew was lake Burragorang!
Spielberg would be jealous.
Thanks John for documenting this. And congrats on getting it all working well.
Tried it too. Sadly it only improves it a little bit. I am at 10mm now will try to squeez 1mm more, after that I try to file a square. It's a Hero10 and in theory the antenna is at the same place. I think in general the software is also badly written if there is no GPS fix, it seemingly randomly puts coordinates in a 3km radius. Thanks for your tip, it was 30% successfull and I am happy it works for you.
It works most of the time - it's not foolproof, sadly!
how did you manage to change the gps units in km/h? I have gopro 11 couldn't find it anywhere
Hi - I think it may be in your iPhone settings for Language and Region - set it to metric. see also here ua-cam.com/video/UBjax6vgIk4/v-deo.html
@@zoomziggy1 Ayy thanks man, I had English (united states). set up. Changed to Australia and got it in km/h Thanks a lot.
Please don't stand in front of a spinning propeller! - especially when they are spinning that fast on a sketchy test bench.
How much thrust ???
Very sorry, I never measured thrust and now I have sold off the project.
@@zoomziggy1 😣😥😑😢 any idea on building it again ??
Thrust ???
Great video John! You'll be drift racing in no time.
are you crazy let your wife stand in front. Man...
Exactly
That depends entirely of the type of wife you got.
Did you ever fly the Spitfire with this motor? How was it?
I had a few health problems and sold the Spitfire project before it flew. I haven't heard from the buyer. Sorry!
@@zoomziggy1 I wonder if he used the Rotomax in it? That's a heck of a motor. I hope that you're feeling better.
That beats 40,000 glue drops hands down. Nice job.

Very nice. Thanks for sharing. Best Wishes n Blessings. Keith
thank you for posting this video i am at the scaling stage and found this very useful , iv just acquired a MR 1/4 spit converted to mk22, however i have wheels here what size wheels does this spit use? i cant remember. cheers Jake
jakebeer91 Hi - my wheels are 6 inches in diameter - 153mm. They are from Mick Reeves. Mk IX and Mk XVI wheels including tyres were 24 inches, almost 61 cm. This varies a few mm according to the tyre tread fitted. The Mk22 wheels were a bit bigger - but I don't know the size, sorry.
hi john, thank you for the reply, i think i'll go for the reeves wheels, must be near as damn, did you use his oleo's? I'm torn between his and the Robart #680's. or the whole retract units used for the CY models 110" spitfire. please post more progress on your spitfire looks to be an awesome project to follow =]
You can get the rivets through Mick Reeves' website. www.mickreevesmodels.co.uk/
Are these kits made in Britain
@@ridwanhusainishraq Yes - see the Mick Reeves link.
HAHA, how many horsepower is that? gotta be at least a few.
Hi, could you please send me the details to buy these rivets, thanks
Cool I always wondered how the rivets were down, will be helpful for an upcoming project I have thanks.
