Whether in the passenger seat or walking around, come along with me for the ride as I meet people and not only show their cars, but also share their own unique stories. The more we learn about each other, the more we learn about ourselves. I've always been interested in cool and unique cars, but have found myself even more intrigued by the people behind the wheel of these cars. Their stories have plenty of range. From humorous to nostalgic as well as educational, I'm honored to have the opportunity to not only listen to these stories, but to share them as well. I hope that I can help you focus on not only the car but also the people. So sit back and enjoy the ride because you never know what you'll learn when the camera is rolling and the conversations begin to unfold. My intention is for you to be entertained as well as have your eyes opened to things you've never seen nor heard so that you will be inspired to pursue whatever you've been wanting to do, but haven't. 1955 VW Convertible - Ride-Along and Tour
Finally, after many times at trying to mesh our schedules, Frank Espinoza, the President of the Rare Vintage Air Volkswagen club and I got together to not only check out his beautiful 1955 convertible VW beetle but I also got a chance to take a ride with both the top up and of course the top down. Come along and learn about Frank and how his VW passion started  and enjoy a detailed tour of this car outfitted with some pretty mind blowing accessories.

@@jamesbosworth4191 it’s fun to see all cars, but yes, I agree with you that something like this is pretty awesome to see it stock. He put his personal touches to it, but very tastefully in my opinion.
Great gas hose information Eddy, what does the Volkswagen community say is the best brand of gas for air cooled VW engines?
For the most part, it seems to me that everyone puts super (91) over here in SoCal. It has the highest octane.
@EddyCollins-TZN168 yeah I run 91, but are any brands better I wonder...🤔
@@jimmyjames6267 I think everyone has their own opinion, but I have heard both sides. Where some people say “it’s all the same junk”. Then, I have my shop neighbors that deal with finely tuned, fuel injected, Subarus, and they say use namebrand like Chevron or 76. From experience, when I have used a cheaper, gas, non-brand and lower octane, I do notice my bus to run poorly. So bottom line it’s not worth it for me to save a couple bucks and have my bus run that way.

Cool to see an old school survivor 😊 I remember back in the '80s... Buses weren't very popular back then. Here in the northwest, only bugs and ghias were really welcome at the shows. The wheel well cut outs are done much better than most were😂 Thank You as always!👍

I remember White with White bumpers white wheels NO CHROME.....and black tinted windows handles black. on a beetle.....was cool once. We also did Rabbit Cabs that way white everything and a black top and black windows.

Awesome bug! I had a chance to buy a 1963 Porsche 356B in 1978 for $1600. All it needed was paint (😔sigh...).
I feel your pain. I passed up on a 21 window, all original, for $750. I was 16 and didn’t pull the trigger on it.
@@EddyCollins-TZN168 oh man... if we only knew then what we know now. I did have the use of a very clean 1966 Deluxe Type 2 with the split seats up front as my high school rig, which my father took away from me and gave to my big brother- who promptly sold it for $4,000 (in 1981). More regret.

Probably the reason to go to N at a stop is to keep the ATF cooler than it would be if the car was in gear holding a stop.
Autostick was available from 68-75

I bought my old '63 Notch from original owner in Burbank, having only owned bugs before... I set out to "restore it" not knowing how hard the parts were to come by even 20yrs ago... i tore out the vinyl flooring mats he had, i also threw away the original white cap fuel pump... yeah, the T3 purists had a field day with me... Embarrassing story but I learned a lot from being an idiot
@@bassdaze oh man. Well, makes for a good story now. Anyway, I think we’ve all learned quite a bit of lessons as we grow up. There’s a whole bunch of stuff. I wish I would’ve kept from back in the day. As well as not thrown away.

Had a ‘72 VW Bus exactly the same color combo as Roger’s back in the early 1980s. Paid $900 for it & it was in excellent condition. Should have never sold it. Loved it..!

He probably loved having someone so interested in his bus! I would love to go back to the late 80s' 90's again. Thinking about being a kid & teen years was such a different time & also my first experience with a Westy my buddy had that got me hooked.

Beautiful car. I have a '51 Deluxe Hoffman Beetle myself in Los Angeles and the sound these early cars make is definitely unique and adds to the entire experience. 25hp isn't much but it's enough for these light weight cars and they don't overheat! Not enough power to overheat.

When my family had our 1978 Bus, we also had a 1974 Audi 100LS and a 1974 Superbeetle. Those were better times on the road.
