My experience with the Phantom's thus far: I upgraded from the Soundgear Platinum's to the Phantom's. First, things I don't like. They come pre-programmed to turn on at a sound level of "41", and there's no way to change that. There is no memory for the last used volume level. Next, the charging case is far too large, and poor design. The magnets aren't strong enough to keep the hearing pro on the charging posts. Any little bump of the case, and they will fall off (no charging) and then bounce/rattle around inside the hard plastic case. There's nothing molded into the top of the case to help keep them on the charging posts. Therefore, you will need to keep the hearing pro in the separate (supplied) carrying case if you plan on being mobile. Life would be so much better if they designed the charging case to pull double-duty. If you have larger fingers, you will find yourself frequently bumping the sensitive mode button whenever you try to adjust the volume. This will require you to cycle through the modes to get back to where you started from. Aside from those niggles, they've worked well. I appreciate not having to source and carry around spare batteries. Although a bit of a faff, they consistently pair with my iPhone. Streaming works well. The NRR is reasonable, but with the firearms I use, double-plugging is always necessary no matter what hearing pro I use. They fit perfectly in my ears. All-in-all, charging case not withstanding, it's a good product.

Shot my dad's 20ga gordion and I have to say it feels great.

I have wide feet and a large calf. I have a hard time fitting in snake boots. Are these pretty easy to get your feet in and out of especially near the ankle park of the boot. That's were I struggle the most to get my foot in. Thanks and great video

cycle 1oz target load?

For someone new to waterfowl hunting. Would you recommend a 12ga or 20ga? I am stuck between the two, I love how a 20ga shoulders for me. But I have never shot a 20ga, and only have money to buy one or the other. I will be using Boss ammo as well, just want to make sure that the 20ga will handle what I throw at it. Usually will be shooting under 40 yards, but want to make sure if I get in a situation where I need to take pass shots or further shots that the 20ga would handle it. The shotgun will be my all around gun, mostly for geese, ducks, dove, and turkey. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

With TSS shot all you actually need is a 20 gauge 3 inch chambered shotgun. Aim and shoot them dead goose, Sandhill crane, or strutting turkey gobbler.

Would ya recommend Goin 1 size up to accommodate 2 pairs of socks or go with regular size

So after 3 years or so, could you tell me your honest opinion in the Retay? I think it's sweet and just getting into waterfowling, kinda of want an all purpose shotgun. From waterfowling, dove, and to turkey hunts. Thanks

Be warn if you have issues Retay has horrible support for their products. I recently bought a Masai Mara after reading all the good reviews. My luck I got a lemon as the trigger group was out of spec. Contacted Retay support and after multiple requests they would not fix it or respond to my last 4 emails or call me back. Finally my gun shop after hearing of my experience with Retay was nice enough to exchange it out for me. They do not stand behind their product, you would think after spending 1300 on a brand new shotgun they would quickly address the issue, instead I got the run around then crickets. This will be my last Retay due to their non existent customer support. Do yourself a favor and buy a browning, franchi or benelli.

Gordian is a great shotgun at a great price. I would get Bottom Land camo and 3 inch 12 gauge is all you need. It is hunting not shooting.

Are those solid hard plastic or the softer plastic with a little give ?

Just got the Phantom, I am so very disappointed. It's sound amplification is tremendous, it's ability to block out sound is a lot better than the disposable orange foam pads, it is not the most comfortable feeling but is tolerable, the sound quality of streaming and phone calls is great. But I can not express how truly disappointed I am with one particular feature that is really important for its usability; IT USES YOUR PHONES MICROPHONE FOR SOUND ON A PHONE CALL INSTEAD OF THE MICROPHONE IN THE EARPIECE. I bought this product because I have tinnitus, and walk in and out of jobsites with construction noises and want to protect my hearing. I am also constantly on the phone, so I normally wear a Bluetooth headset as I can not stand having my phone out when I talk and not being able to use my hands for other things. There is an impressive microphone in the really expensive earpiece, and it can not be used as a microphone. This is baffling to me, and makes it's day to day usability low for me. Also, there is not an easy way to turn them off when you do get a call to switch back and forth. Starkey made a high end product, with a fatal usability flaw. Pitiful for the amount of money spent, and that not being mentioned anywhere in their literature.

I purchased the retay masai mora in 12ga 3in... bought a jebs extra full choke and a carlson extended range choke. Haven't had the chance to use either yet.

Price is nothing when I will be able to hear my grandchildren. I love mine and just ordered phantoms. Will be in next week! Very happy with the updates to the wind noise and the streaming is very convenient. I did have to learn to blow my calls with these I my ears took a few weeks but l is good now. Hopefully the phantoms are better with the calling in mind. We will see.

The Dakota hoodie is probably my least favorite of all the Sitka gear I have. It is warm, but a major pain to put on and take off. IMO

Great video. I've owned 4 Benellis and the Benelli click is real and frustrating. I upland hunt a lot and all you have to do is bump the bolt on a tree or shrub or even a cattail and the bolt will push back just a fraction and there you have another "click."

hows the shotgun holding up? Im new to duck hunting and this will hopefully be my first waterfowl shotgun. Im also interested in the franchi Affinity 3 as well. Have you done any hunts with this shotgun?
