We're an AI-free review show about restaurants, hotels, and products presented in a few minutes. Reviews are based on real visits to restaurants, hotels and activities. My goal is to help you make informed decisions before trying on your own.
All opinions and videography are my own. Prices are approximations as they change over time.
I'm Arthur, a food enthusiast, former Yelper, voracious reviewer, and lover of travel and people. I travel anywhere to try new experiences year round. As I'm not a picky eater, I'll eat anything and try anything with an open mind. Contact me if you want me to check your place out. I always give fair restaurant, hotel and product reviews. Email: minutereviewshow@outlook.com
I currently call Long Island and New York City my home, so most of my reviews will be from the Tri-state (NY, NJ, CT) area.

hello, a search of chinese places to eat - big wong is still listed here. the name is a little different but the food is printed the same. the menu used to be a two page sheet sitting by the spoon forks tub. the restaurant still is the same two room with a little walkthru. found a restaurant out in San Francisco that is just as good. right after the gate 2 blocks and turn right about one block - the restaurant is a pay first and canteen style by the 'eater' can order by the register and they bring it to your table number. real good roast duck and soy sauce chicken out there or here. looking great the restaurant back home. will enjoy near there too. el-
too bad I don't really go out in my neighborhood, or else I would be bumping into you a lot, try belly cake pancake house next
😮 I love waffles is my go to over pancakes and french toast 😂...they all looked splendid...enjoy and have a great day, Arthur ❤😊
Thanks for continuing to review local places! Looks like a nice place and those waffles look delicious.
You're welcome! Will continue to do these as opportunities pop up!
WHAT !!...!NO MORE CHIOSE ONE FROM COLUMN A AND ONE FROM COLUMM B.....??
Gorgeous waffles. It feels like Arthur is taking me out for some nice waffles
Yummy
Filipino food is delicious in moderation. Literally every Filipino has high cholesterol and diabetes… next time in long island try Deng ji noodles house in Levittown Long Island!
Thanks for the recommendation. Looks good!
I too miss Hop Shing very much, Arthur. I loved going there for lunch when it was really busy and sitting at one of their communal tables. I enjoyed the food as well as the atmosphere. Although I normally prefer going to Chinatown for lunch, Hop Shing could lure me there for dinner, as you would receive a complimentary bowl of their delicious pork bone soup, also known as house soup.
Those were the days! We're in a new era now, so it will take some effort to find those places that sort of fit what we grew up with. Thanks for watching!
@@minutereviewshow My fear, though, is that as places like Hop Shing and East Corner Wonton close down, they are not being replaced. Or, rather, they are being replaced by more hip and instagram-ready places. I sometimes wonder where those former habitués of Hop Shing are having lunch now; I suppose at some of the places that you review.
@@davidlasson2558 I suspect that most of those patrons are just buying takeout from those few remaining old school restaurants. As an aside, I find that some commenters on this channel, assuming they're around my age, dislike the recent price hikes at restaurants. That's also keeping them away, especially since they've been spoiled by decades of low prices. As for your other comment, I'm wondering how sustainable those new instagramable restaurants are because my impression is that they tend to make all sorts of new hybrid dishes that don't have a "cultural" memory.
@@minutereviewshow Well, I too lament the price increases. However, those decades-long low prices to which you refer were really artificially low; by this I mean that many of these old school places relied on extended family members both in the kitchen and front-of-house who worked long hours with scant benefits for low wages. Besides, even with the price increases, Chinatown is still a bargain considering the high quality of food that one can routinely find there.
犀利,一個人食三碟嘢!
No problem! :)
Geeat job with the details!
Thank you!
Ty Arthur for being so understanding...I am a very picky eater, always been like that since I was small....I don't like scallions or ginger, even though I am full blooded chinese American 😂😂😂...
What are your favorite restaurants ?
@NoahEats Hello Noah...are you asking me or Arthur 🤔...was just wondering, lots of people comment on my comments, but they weren't for me 😊🤦....have a nice weekend ❤😊
Looks amazing . Love pork jowl dishes. So underrated. Love fatty pork. My kind of foods
Me too!
Sorry Arthur, I couldn't watch this video...I'm sure the food was delicious...just not a fan of certain asian cuisines and this is one of them...won't say which other cuisines I REFUSE to eat or try, no matter what anyone says ( sorry it's just me )...have a nice weekend ❤😊
It's very human to have one's preferences. No need to explain! :)
I'm SOLD. My family and I will be in Hua Hin around ten days later. I'll definitely try this place. Thanks!
Thanks for watching! This place was worthy of being in a big city! Hope you enjoy!
I thought you had a couple of regular Shanghai dishes but other than that you did not invest much into more elaborate Shanghai foods. Such as the Dong Po dish. Or even the Sea Bass with pine nuts. Those two should've been in the video. Anyway, still enjoy to watch and keep up your work!
Thanks for your comments! 😀 I wish I could have ordered higher end dishes but hope to do so in the future!
I used to eat lunch there when I worked in Korean Service Center on election days
A really great shopping mall just opened in 2022.
The rice roll I dont think they make to order as I can see the roll have a thicker skin rather than the thin layer of the rice roll that taste better than what you are eating from dim sum sam
Any self respecting Chinese restaurant claiming to be "classic" Cantonese with no Bitter Melon dish(es) on the menu is a ❌🚫👎
If you ever come back to albany and you’re in the mood for Vietnamese, try Vans on central ave!
Thanks for your suggestion!
Tyvm and yqw Arthur 😊
Very interesting. I haven’t been to Albany in such a very long time. It’s sort of a “forgotten” city. Good to see the city stepping up
😮 Wow, never seen an extensive menu that big before 😂...all the dishes looked amazingly delicious...enjoy and have a great weekend ❤😊
Have an excellent weekend as well!
Hi Arthur, I really enjoyed this video for a new experience in Shanghainese food which I’ll never have in NC. Best for the New Year !
I appreciate it. I hope you could try this type of cuisine one day! Happy New Year to you as well!!
Come on. A knife to cut up tofu
Pizza too!
Should try here
❤❤Hope one day you can review Tim Ho Won at Times Square 🙏🙏🙏🙏
I think you should try the delicious rice noodle soup and their soup is so delicious without msg ...
how do you compare it with Northern Manor
Thanks for watching! I enjoy LN1380 a bit more.
Looks amazing. Haianese chicken rice is one of the greatest dishes. If it had the Cantonese style ginger oil sauce on the side, I would probably give it a 10 out of 10 score.
Thanks for you food review, I too is from Queens, NY and I have been making notes of all the restaurant you been to. One question, for the Sambal Squid dish, you mentioned that the squid has been treated and soften, can you explain that process? I'm just curious. Thanks
Thanks for watching and I apprectiate it! Yes, when proteins are treated it's usually with baking soda to tenderize. Some places are use it heavily, some less, To a lesser extent, sometimes corn starch is used.
I want to try this place but finding parking in the area is always so tough !
We found paid street parking, I think it was $2 / hr.
This place is good when you're in the mood for sushi. They have a good variety of tasty rolls.
where is oriebt garden located
It's in New Hyde Park. The exact address and link to map is in the description. Thanks for watching!
Wow never seen this Cuisine before. And omg the seafood dishes, amazing. I could eat here for weeks trying all the dishes out!
It was very nice and amazingly affordable!
Roti canai are no longer hand tossed. You can purchase those from the frozen section in your local Asian grocery.
you are brave to try a C-rated restaurant!
C for courage.
It’s just a letter. C stands for did not pay Cash to health inspector😂
Even if they are C rated, they are one of the top 3 authentic Malaysian oldest restaurant. The other 2 are at flushing, Ah wan and Malay restaurant on 40th st flushing is considered number one
@krissykok1986 does ah wan go by another name ? I cant find that one. I see papparich on Google maps but unfortunately I know they are closing this weekend. And the Malay restaurant is right next time the lirr ?
@@Beyondesp ah wan is across the library, if you are standing in front of the library facing the lirr/ subway, Ah wan us on the right, next to the pho vietnamese store. Their roasted duck and char siew is good.
Yqw Arthur 😊
Great review...all the food looked amazing...enjoy and have a great weekend ❤😊
Thank you😀😀😀!
Roti Canai (Cha-Nai) is literally translated to Indian Bread in Cantonese. Places that use Paratha instead of the Tisu just doesn’t hit the same for me.😂 Inside the Pohpiah is sauteed jicama was what you thought was vermicelli or daikon tasting.
Thanks so much for the translation and background! Using paratha for this dish would be criminal! Also thanks for clarifying on the pohpiah. The filling was so unfamiliar to me, but now I'm wondering if this version is what is available in Malaysia.
@ same filling(s) used in Malaysia, difference appears to be the size. Larger here.
I dont think they wrap with Jicama as when cook for a long time is suppose to have sweet taste they use Daikon and they is no flavor and doesnt taste good at all
@@areebachewa8318 he isn’t familiar with jicama so that what it may taste like to him. I never seen Malaysians use daikon for pohpiah only for daikon cake, but maybe they mixed it in for cost efficiency.
@@gotrice101 Trust me I love pohpiah and they put daikon as you have mentioned for cost efficiency that is the reason the taste is very bland and not from the sweetness of the Jicama when they simmered it for sometime to soften it where it suppose to be ..
Bro, I could of made recommendations, I go to Malaysia almost every year😂😂. Collab? I have a wide knowledge of palettes for anyone that used to follow my now deleted Instagram and Facebook accounts.
