Переглядів 806 тис.3 роки тому
Edited from Siân Heder's film CODA (2021) "Both Sides Now" by Emilia Jones A music video focusing on the touching relationship between Ruby and her father. As a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) Ruby is the only hearing person in her deaf family. When the family's fishing business is threatened, Ruby finds herself torn between pursuing her love of music by wanting to go to Berklee College of Music an...
I don't understand why it's cut off at the end.
I haven't seen this movie (yet) but the part in this clip when the father places his hands on either side of his daughter's neck so he can "feel" her singing just broke me. It reminds me of my cousin, Krystal, who was born deaf. Specifically, when we were kids (10 or 11 or so) my parents and I came for a visit and we went to the maple festival (this was in northern PA). They had live bands playing outdoors and she and I sat on a hay bale to watch. She could feel the music through the ground with her feet. It was the first time she was ever able to physically experience music and the look on her face was so joyous.
This movie after watching it had me sobbing such a great movie a MUST SEE
Absolutely beautiful
Still moves me. Thanks
CODA is almost 1:1 Americanized copy of a French movie from 2004 called "Le Famille Bélier" as. The Beliér Family (with commercial fishing instead of raising goats for milk/cheese) Especially the father played by Troy Kotsur is very close to how he appears in the french original
People may have seen the movie as unworthy, but for me, it was something we needed at the time it was nominated and it served its purpose ever so beautifully.
Bellissima canzone, voce, immagini. Complimenti da Biella (Italy,).
Just discovered this young singer. Takes after her father. Have seen her brother singing with his father. All gifted singers
I LOVE THIS MOVIE! HOH since I was young, I've never fit in either world. Funny I have wished I could have been in one or the other. I have been isolated from both.....oh well. I can't watch this movie without balling. I guess it brings up so many feelings. I am a movie buff. I have a top five....and CODA is there now.
Shorty ❤
Watching Joni sing this at the Grammy's brought me here and I'm amazed. Thank You.
She deserved to be nominated in Oscars
Just beautiful, love it ❤
i love this...i will be there
The actor Emilia Jones is English\Welsh speaking with an American Accent. She learned both ASL sign language and to sing while preparing for the role. The scene where she auditions (singing) Both Sides Now and speaking to the character’s deaf family is like as she says, walking and alternatively touching your nose and tummy (switching hands). The scene had to be perfect on the sign language and her singing had to be good enough for critics to agree the character deserved entry to a performing arts school. And the makeup artist did a great job making her look cute. She’s more sophisticated in real person. She was 18 was casted and became 19 during filming.
They have some good voices ftom Wales my father land
Aled Jones daughter ❤ Walking in the Air ❤
For someone like me who’s had some association with the deaf, this vid made me tear up.
合格したのがわかった時のお兄ちゃんの喜びようにいつもヤられる😂
I am crying and weeping uncontrollably with happy tears for all the beautiful people who can’t hear this song but who feel it more than people who hear .
I've never cried so much watching a film. What a beautiful gem. This is my comfort show from now on. Thank you for this.
i wander why she didnt get nominated for best actress she is sooo good
Credit for the edit on this. There were some very subtle edits and timing that accentuated the real meaning of this film. As a father, the scene on the truck really get to you.
Whew Beautiful
Rows and flows of angel hair And ice cream castles in the air And feather canyons everywhere Looked at clouds that way But now they only block the sun They rain and they snow on everyone So many things I would have done But clouds got in my way I've looked at clouds from both sides now From up and down and still somehow It's cloud illusions I recall I really don't know clouds at all Moons and Junes and Ferris wheels The dizzy dancing way that you feel As every fairy tale comes real I've looked at love that way But now it's just another show And you leave 'em laughing when you go And if you care, don't let them know Don't give yourself away I've looked at love from both sides now From give and take and still somehow It's love's illusions that I recall I really don't know love Really don't know love at all Tears and fears and feeling proud To say, "I love you" right out loud Dreams and schemes and circus crowds I've looked at life that way Oh, but now old friends they're acting strange And they shake their heads and they tell me that I've changed Well something's lost, but something's gained In living every day I've looked at life from both sides now From win and lose and still somehow It's life's illusions I recall I really don't know life at all It's life's illusions that I recall I really don't know life I really don't know life at all
C'est ce qui nous distingue des animaux : être capable de créer, et de créer des chefs d'oeuvre !
Наверное, лучшее исполнение этой песни!
I listened to this a couple of times. And then accidently ran it now with the volume on mute. A very different experience.. the silence was deafening - that is what the family would have known...
What a beautiful rendition. And of course movie 👏🏻
i started crying when she signed to her parents when singing
Close your eyes and listen to the words she sings carefully, you can hear her British accent towards the end, indeed you can hear every word she says, her diction is... perfect; love the movie, it most certainly deserved an "Oscars" it won, as did she really, next time Emilia.
👍❤️🙏🙌🕊🌍💒📜🫵😇
I watched the movie twice and cried like a baby each time. Now I am watching these UA-cam clips and making a mess of myself every single time..
Does anyone know where I can watch this movie?
I watched on Stremio.
Emilia deserved an academy award for her work in CODA - she sang beautifully, learned and acted in ASL, and spoke with a perfect America accent even though she's British. She was amazing and the best part of this movie. I loved that Troy Kotsur won, but Emilia should have won an Oscar too.
This is an absolutely fabulous movie. This scene in particular is awesome!
I could listen to this over and over… and after watching… the meaning is so powerful. Thank you
I've noticed some asymmetry in her face, but I'm hopeful that it can be corrected since she's still young. Regardless, I absolutely love this movie.
Whenever a US film company need a special singer they call up the UK.
Beautiful song and wonderful interpretation. Emocional video.
The editing on this is PERFECTION. seriously mad talent.
both this film and the French version “famille belier” are masterpieces, I never stop crying every time I see them. just listen to the songs!
Beautiful song and Beautiful story
In memory of my late beloved mother This world is full of sorrow and sufferings but We must live because of our beloved mother who give our lives
Every time i hear this song it never failed to me to cry. What a masterpiece💖✨
This automatically includes in my all-time favorite film. Incredible
Great movie 😉
I was blessed to get asked to accompany a singer to this song (on piano). It has stuck with me and I can’t let it go. F# Major is a tough key but it was worth it.
This is brilliantly done, thank you 👏👏👏👌😭
