@jeremccurdy I'm confused what did you mean by moving the chain before removing the head can't I just maintain the tension on it while pulling the head off
So how much time would this take ,seems pretty straight forward
Bro I don't know shit. This only video I've found. Totally going for it
Playing this in a moth- im screwed
Can you get the trans out ?
use a cutoff wheel to make an x, then an air hammer to get the head off and then knock it out
So this way you can’t remove the tranny, just get access to the internals?
Yes.
My guy, I know this video is ten years old but I'm still gonna ask: why does the head gasket not have all the water cooling ports cut out?
She's still that laid back.
Love this piece!
Question my traverse 2010 doesnt shift sometime i have to put it in park then change into drive for it to change gear what would i need to do?
Thanks for the heads up! I was thinking about using my hammer gun to pry the old ball joints off but thankfully I watched your video first! Saved me from having to buy new lower control arms and a headache explaining it to my wife. Lol
Hey me mccurdey
Life saver
Did you get this code after disconnecting the steering and putting it all back together c0710-00 Steering Wheel Angle Signal? Panel is saying service traction control and stabilitrak
I don't remember ever getting that code. I took mine to my local dealer after I replaced all the clutch plates and had them reprogram the transmission computer. Cost me about $75.
@@jeremccurdy oh! Okay thanks. That was my next question. So was it still slipping after the clutch plates and wave plates till the reprogram?
Hello quick question will the torque converter overheating but the transmission works fine do you have to pull the whole transmission out to check the torque converter and will a bad torque converter makes the car vibrate in drive but not in park
As far as diagnosing your problem goes, I couldn't tell you one way or another. I'm not a mechanic. I do know, however, that you will have to pull the transmission to get to the torque converter.
Was it easier to unbolt the strut from spindle rather than unbolting strut from up top on mount?
I just bought the whole arm,way easier
I took The timing chain Tension screw out not knowing what it was But I put it right back in and tightened Could I have messed up something because now I have Antifreeze in my oil Thank you
As long as you didn't run the engine or turn the motor while the tension screw was out, it should be fine. If you did run the tension screw removed, the timing chain can jump a tooth on either of the sprockets it is wrapped around. That will mess up the engine timing and make it run poorly or not at all. It won't cause the coolant in the oil problem. My advice is replace the water pump seal first. It's an easier and cheaper process. Then if you still see coolant in the oil, change the head gasket. Good luck.
@@jeremccurdy Personal thank you so much for your Speedy reply No I did not run The Honda 150 Elite Deluxe but there is one thing there was antifreeze coming out of the air filter And I believe it was coming through the carburetor This Bike set for 28 years before I started it Clean the whole coolant lines out I believe the thermostat Did not open I cleaned it out I will test the thermostat today before I put it back in It was leaking at the thermostat also not the O-ring cuz I could not get that out the first time Finally got it I will start with The water Pump seal like you suggested thank you so much Dennis
Good video, you clearly ran into the same issues I did. I finally said to heck with it returned the stand alone ball joint and replaced the entire control arm with integrated ball joint and only spent an additional $30. Not for lack of know how I am a ticketed heavy duty mechanic but this was an example of pick your battles. Worth just doing the entire control arm.
That's my boooooooooooo
Can send you my car!!
😂🤦🏻♂️😂👎🏻
chain tensioner destroyed my motor, horrible tensioner
How was the end result? Thank you for your time.
So it should be possible to replace this transmission & torque converter while the vehicle is on jack stands and not have to have access to a lift.
Yes but you will have to support the engine from the top with motor support tool drop the cradle unbolt trans. From motor and lower the transmission leaving the motor in place suspended from the motor support tool
Epic video man! Cool supply run!
You got a few nice shots I wished I had taken , but that's the way it was that day , 5000 plus people walking around in between the bikes was lots of work . I just add my video of that day this morning
HI IVE GOT A TGB 125 WHICH IS HAVING THIS ISSUE,IVE CHECKED THE FRAME EARTH CONNECTION AND CLEANED IT UP AND ITS STILL DOING IT,WHAT ELSE COULD IT BE? ALSO SHOULD THERE BE AN EARTH FROM THERE TO THE ENGINE AS MINES NOT GOT ONE.
I have a 2011 traverse awd, codes say it's the input speed sensor, gm shows on prints that's it's in a cover on the driver side on the bottom so do I have to drop it the same why
Possibly. You might just get lucky and be able to access that cover without dropping the frame. That front cover is easier to get at than the side cap.
Mkay so how do i do this on a g6 gxp
show the top end valve lash setting?
this is the clone of the #hondach250 engine. thank you.
great video, thanks!
Very helpful tip still a pain but made way easier thank you.
I have a Buick Enclave and the transmission vibrates. Any suggestions in what I can do to fix it?
Your my Hero Bro!
I have a 08 with a strange shudder or vibration what causes that . I shift & pulls in all gears but shudders intermittently
Those were the exact symptoms of the transmission in the video.
I just did it on my ST1100, thanks! I never thought about cleaning the inner seal.
I got a 09 Acadia but the suv needs to get gas in reverse sometimes it rolls sometimes it doesn’t the shifts just take a while like slow shifts rpm at idle is 590-620 mpg is 5.5mpg
I'm having the same problem, what did you do to fix it?
Were you getting any codes for the broken wave plates
Great video props to shouting out Chris Bruno... His video was also informative...I gave 2013 AWD doing the same, I'm not sure if yours is FWD or if it even matters. Also do you have a price point for your replacement parts and where you got it or did you just get it from the dealer like Chris Bruno??? Thanks again for an awesome video.
Does the 2008 GMC Arcadia and 2008 Saturn Outlook have the same transmission?
Yes they do
I found out that my problem wasnt the gasket it was the rings had gone .but itd tightened up the head bolts ?do u think it will be ok to put my new rings on and reuse/set the head gasket ?or do i have to buy another one even tho the one on now has never been used ?im not sure if it will work now as obviously the squish may have gone on the first install?
😂 ummmmm head gaskets can't be reused even if it's been torqued down only once.
hi Jeremiah. i liked your video. i will like to pay you so you can change mine in my acadia. and also the torque converter. where do you lived? i hope new york.
I used a pneumatic drill for these holes. It turns at a slower rate than an electric drill. That actually helps for cutting through this metal. If your drill has an adjustable speed setting, slow the bit down. Use PLENTY of lubricant for the drill bit to keep it cool.
And above all, be patient. Each hole took me about 8-10 minutes to drill. If you have a drill punch that will help give the bit something to bite into to start cutting.
I'm working on this right now and having quite the time with the "drilling". What kind of drill bits did you use? I using Titanium coated -- is that strong enough? The bits don't seem to be breaking or anything but it's taking very long.
Chevrolet Equinox engine removal
Great write up.So other than removing steering knuckle, exhaust , passenger motor mount, what other significant items did you have to remove? When removing the fuse panel... do I need to know any order of operations? Airbag shit or anything else? Also like Ron said below, theoretically if you supported the cradle and engine, could you remove the transmission this way as well? I have to replace the TEHCM and figured I’d replace the 3-5-R as well. Just hoping you can shed some light on it
I see you didn't change the lower gasket how long did that last? I got 78 miles before it blew again
