Hey man thanks for this video. I followed all the steps and my tv is staying on again. Only problem is now the screen is mostly white. I can see a bit of what’s playing on the screen but it’s like there’s a white filter over it. Do you have any tips?

It's not fixed. This is a hack. A real repair would require a replacement screen, which is not available. While I have done a number of these I never guarantee them as I would a regular repair.

I picked up a used one in good condition (no remote) and, as far as I can tell it is the “D” version of the TI chip. I think it is the “C” version that fails. I am also only using as 2.1 and I read that if you push it hard full surround, it causes issues. But that might only be the C version. Also, looking at the TI documents, as far as I can tell, the “D” version should last a long time now. So if you are looking to buy one, get down close and shine a flashlight into the top right (I find from the left into it) and see if it is a C or D version. It is the middle number line and is after a 113. This kind of makes sense as D comes after C and TI fixed the issue. However, as mentioned and Yamaha said the same to me, if a previous owner did not vent it well, heat and temp changes cause solder issues. But mine is very clean. I think whoever had it took good care of it. It now sits in the wide open on an old style TV metal cart. Fully vented. I no longer have the link to the TI page with service data but, if you search by entering the chip number, it comes up. A few pages down shows the problem. I ran it over two hours as 2 channel and it did not burp. I turn it on at night (it is replacement for a bedroom receiver) for a bit to test. So far, great. The settings from the previous owner showed they had run it 5 or 7 surround but, that is all off now. I am only using it in stereo for music and for a TV in the bedroom. The analog amp also is really good. So if the TI chip does fail, you can use it as an analog amp via RCA.Which I also do with CD player and a streamer to DAC to this.

Hello, do you remember what the service diagnostics showed on the receiver? I have the same issue with an RX-V777, but heating the chip doesn’t make the sound appear at all. The service diagnostics show that the connection to the main processor is fine (DSP: OK), but there’s no connection with the DIR multiplexer (DIR: NG). I’m not sure where to look; the multimeter readings seem normal.

Those 2SC458s are well-known failure points. Should have replaced all in the unit.

Mine tv is one connect and it will stay on for a little while then reboot or sometimes reboot a few times over and over then be ok for 10 min

My Samsung NEO QLED is about 5 years old. I paid 2k. It hust went black while watching. I unplugged it and plugged back in and turned on with a blue screen on shuts off after 5 seconds and turns back on again continuously.

So how much did you charge for the repair??

Mime went black and turned off while watching. Unplugged it and plugged it back in and just get's a blue screen and after every 5 seconds, keeps turning on and shutting off non stop.

Omg thank you so much! Funnily enough i went through all those steps before coming to this video but i NEVER would have thought to cover the clock power. You da man bro! My tv now works like it did before with such barely noticeable difference in picture quality my wife can’t tell the difference between now and before it was broken! Gracias amigo!

Hi i have a quick question. Ive got 2 the same TVs with cables look similar your TV. One cable going to t-con board with the bridge cable like the one you have, just tad smaller. Anyways, both of my TVs has horizontal lines. One TV i fixed because like you said 90% of issues will be on the right side and with a bit of type ive fixed it blocking few pins on bridge cable, but the other TV has issue on the left side. my question is, how do i block pins for the left side because the is only one cable that coming from the main board. Thanks in advance.

Can you answer this please as no one else has been able to Is it possible that both left and right driver boards can have a problem. I have a steady red standby light on a Samsung UE55MU7000T tv 2017. It had horizontal lines going across it then it packed up altogether. I changed the mainboard which has the T-con built in it has two ribbons. The backlights stay on when one or the other cable is connected not both. the standby light is steady and comes on but there is no green light even though the backlights are on. I have done all the usual stuff disconnecting one cable and then the other. I disconnect one side there is no sound or picture and then try the other side and it is the same thing no sound no picture. When both T-con cables are fitted it starts flashing and going on and off. I thought I would at least get some sound. Thank you.
