Pump Operator- don’t leave the tank fill-recirculate valve open when you need a fully charged 2.5 line. Increasing the pressure doesn’t do much good when half is going back to the tank. A good operator would pay more attention to his pump rather than the camera.
Big area to cover
Now I know why I saw smoke
OH....... Don't bother replying McCrory........you already know what I think of you!
I almost forgot. Clancy was my name
Ladder 2. I wish I had a nickel for every time I sent out L-2, L-12, L14, L-1. I'm still an old dispatcher at heart. Stop....stop right now....I don't want to hear any smart remarks.
Wow. Just wow. Why do these trucks have dump valves if they don’t use them. Dump the water in the tanks like it’s supposed to be done. The relay engine will do the rest. No need for all this time, hose, and horse sh!t
My last FD response was a lumberyard/ industral complex fire . It took up an entire city block and was a mutual aid call from a neighboring town . You could see huge solid clouds of black smoke and 300’ fireballs from 15 miles away . I was on our ladder truck - crew of only 2 - watching this , as we’re headed to fight it - which is an interesting experience. The entire block was on fire and high voltage Powerlines ringed the area , so we pulled behind another truck and as we were setting the tormentors , a 250 gal propane tank Blevied about 200 ft away . Luckily the end caps were not facing us , it rolled across the ground and rose into a flaming mushroom cloud . We lobbed water into the area as we couldn’t enter . When we did , it looked like a scene from a war movie . We found hose from the local department, when they abandoned their attack - ironically the station was across the street. One thing about firefighting, you’ll see things most people never will .
That is a far ass drive man. This is exactly why I have my own 500g storage system with pump and hoses. My things would be burned down and spreading into the forest by the time the trucks arrived at my place.
Great video, thanks for sharing!
Nice response and well coordinated. So many of the responses I see, it's always an after thought to connect to a hydrant. These guys took care of that right away. Plus, the aerial was positioned BEFORE anything got out control, unlike other videos of departments that only engage AFTER the fire is almost out of control. NICE JOB Union Fire.
Thought it was Oxford mass for a minute . this oughta be good. Heard of Oxford pa but nice job on the knock down also what a ride 2 scene 👍. it’s where I started my career as a firefighter, Oxford mass 1986 birthplace Clara BARTON👨🏻🚒🇺🇸
Je suis pompier professionnel je ne vois aucune Lance pré -connecté en cas besoin merçi votre cordialement
It was and absolute waste of time to lay that supply line and put up an aerial. They barely have any smoke showing. Looked like a can could put that out.

Hello I am a volunteer and I wanted to ask you what type of helmet can you have
Why can't more departments learn to drop a supply line from the main road and leave space for Ladder Truck. Great job guy's. Outstanding training video.
Good putting the stick up even if it isn't jobtown this time. Free practice! Helluva drive though, how wide of a district is this?
92 square miles of first due coverage
92 square miles. Largest area in Chester County. Pa.
Apparently some inexperienced firefighters commented
One of the saddest fire departments ive seen!!
Well, there‘s nothing to be happy about when someone‘s livelihood is burning😡
Cause u need engine at the take to push water to in charge engine
Respect to everyone 😊❤
Do you ever run mutual aid into Maryland?
Yes
The amount of time it took, I thought there woud be nothing left but a pile of ash. Is this a volunteer FD?
I saw “wood shop fire” and thought “hmmm that could be interesting.” Then I saw y’all pull out realizing that’s Oxford, PA! I used to live there and go through that intersection daily! Thank you for all you do!
Why do you guys just sit in the station with your lights flashing? I don't get the point of that.
Waiting on other fireman to show up.
All i can say is WOW, kinda boring. Sorry fellas.....😮
So they have a brush truck but wear regular turnout gear to a brush fire?
I k now in maryand we wear regular bunker gear because our station does not have wildand gear as there is just not a lot of wildfires
Lots of East coast departments don’t have wild land gear like out on the west coast
um ya some departments dont have separate gear!
I like the video, was hoping to See more of the action.
How big of a tank does that engine have? 13 minutes before supply line charged with multiple lines off was amazing.

I'm gonna be a Firefighter and do training in 2024
Was it just two engines and tanker responded
Did you not see the aerial ladder???
We say firefighter in Australia as so many volunteers are women.
The company l use to run with was volunteer we had a pierce rescue pierce engine and a seagraves 95 ft tower ladder we were very lucky our township bought nice equipment
This is my towns fire department and I can’t thank you guys enough for saving all of the lives of the people in towns big fire. I know there is a fire right now too so be careful
I'm gonna be a Firefighter and do training in 2024
This was boring
Not one ground ladder thrown!!!
Engine crew took off
Those trucks are magnificent!!
Never thought id see someone local
Why don’t we use a drop tank so the tanker can dump and be heading for more water instead of pumping off each load of water. Much faster and way more efficient. I come from a rural department and setting a drop tank and establishing a water supply is the key to fighting rural fires
You are correct. Especially with a barn fire that normally has a huge fire load. To counter that you need a large flow per minute. Something that is much harder to achieve if you aren’t using a portable pond operation to maximize speed of tanker offloading.
There is an update process going on throughout the county for those that use tankers as their only water method (no hydrant access). The first in engine drops going in, leaving their siamese on the end, so that the first in tanker can hook up to supply. That tanker then drops another lead with a siamese for 2 more tankers to hook into, and you can either, repeat this as you go down the line, and create multiple pump off ports (all going to that first tanker who’s supplying the scene for smaller fires) or , while tankers drop their porta tanks and set up a supply engine at the end of the driveway (which will hook into the other side of that siamese going back the driveway) for large volume water flow. It’s basically a hybrid system to get water into the scene while the dump site gets set up. It keeps the scene decluttered, so that the units back the driveway can operate. It’s also important to note, that this is also setup several hundred feet away from the driveway on either side to allow engines/trucks/rescues to get back the driveway if needed (say on a second alarm or up) where you might have 2-3 trucks flowing master streams from the aeriel to knock the bulk of the fire.
If go around your ass to get to your elbow was a fire this would be it@@TheRealJesseStoltzfus
Yes sir I absolutely agree 💯 percent
Hard to watch. All that jiggling of the camera.
I am sorry ur not even a man
Yay a driver seat view. We don’t very often here on UA-cam get to see a driver seat view of a response for that alone I like this video.
I don't understand the Tanker relay . looks like a lot of hose . Hook up and unhook to keep the water flow . It looks like to me if I would have been the first in I would have .set a Dump tank in front of the house had the Tankers bump and go refill . !

filming was awful. I we saw was gauges, roadway, driveway, more gauges. Why run hoses so far when relay from tanker and trucks could be done much closer than clear out in the road. Poor response
Great video! However, for the response portion, maybe next time angle the camera down just a little bit so we can see more of your perspective.
