I-95 North through Savannah, GA [2024] - 4K Highway Drive
Here is an updated, real-time view of I-95 northbound through the Savannah area from Richmond Hill in Bryan County all the way to the South Carolina state line just north of Port Wentworth. Along the way, you will see an updated view of the I-16/95 interchange project as well as the gateway to South Carolina upon entering the state.
I-95 is a rather mundane route though Georgia as its purpose is to essentially connect motorists with population centers to the south in Florida or further north up the East Coast by way of the Carolinas. Therefore, I-95 through Georgia is more of a thru-traffic route although commuter interests are served in the Savannah area despite staying west of the city center. As seen in the video, I-95 is six lanes (three in each direction) with some sections eight lanes wide as a result of GDOT's effort to ensure that this route moves traffic efficiently due to I-95 being the East Coast's "Main Street".

@@TheFreeAgent2024 absolutely! i’ve sat in those backups more times than i can count. it would really help if GDOT would reconfigure the entire interchange.. Pooler is not the small sleepy town it once was.

285 is really overdue for an re-paving.
@@pimpsquad27 it’s been repaved since this video was filmed, at least the Top End has. the section on the west side may still need to be repaved since the concrete was in pretty bad shape the last time i drove it (about three months ago)

The reason why they changed the street name of 141 was because of the ever-changing nature of Chamblee (and likely Doraville, as well)
@@TheFreeAgent2024 you are right! if i’m not mistaken, i think the two cities voted to rename the road sometime in the 2000s, but it wasn’t until a few years ago that signage started to reflect that. considering some other roads around town w/ “Industrial” in their name, i didn’t think this one was bad.. but i will say it does reflect the current nature of the two cities (Chamblee in particular).
Panola road bridge over interstate 20 needs to be replaced.
@@jonnybrussat3965 i completely agree. a lot of the stretch of I-20 from I-285 on the eastside to Conyers needs to be upgraded. hopefully some work will be done eventually, but only time will tell.

@@camexplores The trick is to find a road that ISN'T under construction. And the TDOT has a habit of beginning a project, blocking off a lane or two with a thousand orange barrels, and then moving on to another project, for say, five years. Not kidding.
