You guys your sense of humor is out of this world 😅😅😅 been laughing the whole video 😅😅 thanks for sharing your beautiful experiences with us,and stay safe guys❤
How blessed you were to encounter those gemsbokke (oryx.) I have been watching Caracal Route YT videos for five years; this was the first sighting. Matt Dubber and his wife came across the very rare African wildcat. Typically, people don't mention wildlife and all seem to miss the green flash at sunset (just Google that )
Do you recall if there was firewood available in Garies?
We didn't see any but we weren't looking, but you're sure to find some at the supermarket or the filling station there 😊 Sorry we're not really of much help here.
@@CrossAfricaTravel Hehe thanks anyway! Great video 👍🏻
And also kromrivier
Wow great lekkerrrrrr my family stay at Dwarsrivier farm its a very nice place and this Shop reminds me at school holidays me i did go and visit at the farm of David niewoudt
Thanks 👍 once again
Fish is like the Gospel: always good, timely and untimely. 😊
Foreign viewers: 1.2 bar = 17.4psi. I know Down Under they still use that antiquated unit of measurement. 😊
Hopeful, soon, after more than two decades of medical confinement. Mobility isn't a right, but a privilege. So glad we banked many memories while young, but bad sectors can wipe some of that. So your efforts here are greatly appreciated. When we talked about beeldradio in the 1960's, and used party lines for phones, who could foretell that I could have a large TV showing you on UA-cam via a phone that never gets used for calls. 😊
Thank you. This section of Namaqua is on my bucket list.
You can get fire wood at Groenrevieren entrance gate - at least we got some. Awesome to see the the nice Korringkorel Bay. What a stunning place. And the bomas provide an excellent wind protection especially with the extended height and almost 360 degrees shelter.
Thanks for the info about the wood ... we didn't know we could get some there. That was one thing the guys at Hondeklipbaai gate didn't tell us. Thanks so much for watching 😊
Very good information 👌👍
Thanks so much for this video! Skilpad info isn't readily available. ❤
Glad you liked 👍 😊
Looks fantastic. What sunglasses brand do you use?
K-way sunglasses 😊
We had an overnight stay in Straisbaai on our first ever road trip to SA in 2020. There were a lot more people there then, awesome to visit. Thanks for sharing your latest adventures...where to next?
Glad we could 'take you back' so to speak 😀 We've had some great suggestions for trips, so now we just got to decide which one to take on first 😊
Struisbaai, perhaps?
@@afriquelesud We did miss that one .... 😂
Yeees, thank you, enjoyed that. We were there about 2 weeks ago.
Awesome 😃 Glad you enjoyed
We are going to Agulhas next month. There are very few vlogs of Agulhas so thank you for sharing.
So glad you enjoyed 😊 Thanks for watching
We have 2 nights in the park in November but will be in a chalet with a view (apparently). We did look at the cottage but thought air con may be appreciated at that time of the year.
Oh yes, an aircon is essential, especially for that time of year. Good call on booking a chalet 👍
Those better be Ouma rusks😌
Loved this video, relevant to us in November. Awesome drive to the Cederberg wines, can't wait to drive this. Which road was it you took? Stunning scenery ❤
We drove from Clanwilliam towards Ceres. You pass through the main road of Clanwilliam town and simply continue on past the Clanwilliam Dam where the road turns to gravel before you get a signposted left turn into the Cederberg. From there it's just one road all the way to Algeria where you can either take left at the crossroads towards the Uitkyk Pass or go right towards Citrusdal. We headed up the Uitkyk Pass into the Wilderness Area. Here you just keep following the road towards Op-Die-Berg and Ceres. All the farms including Cederberg Wines turn off this road and everything is well signposted.
Thank you so much 💓
Great video. I am literally sitting at campsite number 11 at Krom Riviera Cederberg park watching this!
Awesome 😀 Thanks so much for watching. Have a blast in the Cederberg..... we're jealous now 😆
Thank you again for taking us with on your travels. Enjoy watching you two and that places you go. Be safe!
Thanks so much for watching. We're always so glad to hear from folks that are enjoying the videos 😊
Hi there. I have been watching and enjoying your travels , especially since I am an avid traveller and explorer myself...the dustier the better. When you were in Barrydale i was hoping you would swing north along the R62 towards the rest of the Klein Karoo, plenty of dust roads and quaint places, like Van Wyksdorp where I am living. No ffilling station, not an ATM to speak of, lovely restaurants and lovely folk living close to the eart, growing their own food as far a possible. Hope to see you here some time. Nannie Lehmkuhl.
Awesome, so glad you've been enjoying the channel 😃 VanWyksdorp is actually not far from our base in the Garden Route so we may just take a local roadtrip to come say hi. We so love meeting with like-minded people, especially those that watch our channel, of course 😂 You actually may just have given us an awesome idea for a mini roadtrip 😀
Not too fast on that gravel road, if a buck, hourse, cow, crossed you in all street officially 😂
🤣🤣
Oh my... That sunset on the deck... Amazing! I'm not long back from Chobe and am missing the African sunsets!! 🇬🇧
There is nothing better than an African sunset 😊
Wow, super excited. After a few days on the West Coast, our itinerary includes a stop over near Calvinia on our way to Augrabies. We'll travel the exact road, we've read it's long and straight, so great to see. Looks like you were doing it in the opposite direction. We'll also be in the Cederberg and look forward to that awesome gravel road. Thanks for sharing ❤
@@louisedickinson8883Awesome.... yes, we traveled opposite to the way you'll go. So glad you enjoyed the video and got a sneak peak of what you'll get to see on your trip. You're going to love it 😀
Good morning Lynsey and Suzann, awesome vidio once again, first youtube footage we have seen on the Gorge Cottage. Looked fantastic. Question on the current condition of the Kgalagadi roads? We have a booking at the end of May. What time of the year was your trip and where was the problem sand section on the Auob river?
Hi there 😊 Thanks so much for watching, so glad we could show you the Gorge Cottage. As for the Kgalagadi roads .... they're generally in a good condition but with the sand being deeper than we've personally experienced before (in some places). The problem section on the video was between MataMata and the first picnic site you get to on your way down to Twee Rivieren (I forget the picnic site's name). We were there at the end of February this year and it was very hot, so the sand was very soft in the middle of the day and the fact that the stuck vehicles were running tyre pressures in excess of 2bar contrbuted to the problem.
Thanks. I only have a 2 x 4 vehicle, doen the Kgalagadi plenty times in the old Tucson, even up to Unions End when staying at Grootkolk. Picnic site is Kamqua.
@@brianalexander7186 Oh yes, Kamqua .... thanks 😊
Awesome, that will be us...stuck in the sand! Also our first trip there in November but we will be in chalets. Looking forward to the next episode ❤
Hopefully the sand won't be so thick to bog you guys down. The roads keep changing up there so we hope you get through without a problem. But it's always an amazing place to visit and we're sure you're going to love it 😀
Great to see kindness shown to you with the upgrade to the chalet and then you paying it forward helping the folk stuck in the sand 😊
Hi ladies.... Did you see any tortoises or snakes along the rd or at camp site/bungalow? 😁
Hi there. Nothing out on the roads .... just some large geckos at the chalet 😊
You girls are so much fun, even when faced with stuck vehicles! We are going to KTP for the first time in 3 weeks time, we'll be staying 10 nights in total. We have rechargeable fans packed so that we can sit in the vehicle at waterholes without the engine running. Really looking forward to our trip, we were hoping that we might sight two Cross Africa females but no doubt you'll be back home planning your next adventure! Maybe one day we will see you further down the road!
Awesome! You're gonna love it there! Really hope to run into you some day. We do so love meeting folks who watch the channel. Thanks so much for watching and we're especially glad to hear you're enjoying the videos and having a bit of fun with us. 😊
Maybe you guys need one of those small rechargeable fans? We have a Meaco one and it’s brilliant and super quiet too.😊
Never thought of that ... good idea though 😊
Very beautiful indeed, btw why don't you mount the rooftop tent on the canopy? ❤
Only place we can carry an extra spare and jerry cans is on the canopy roofrack..... we need to be able to stand on the tailgate to get the spare and cans up there; we just don't have the strength to get them all the way from the ground up to the roofrack in one go.
Pity you took the photo of the wrong Rock..it is near the ship wreck
Ah nooit! 🤣 So Suzann was right ..... now we gotta go back
Do you ever worry about Hamilton breaking down and being stuck miles away from help? We would but then we don't have your experience. Thank you for sharing.
@@louisedickinson8883 We've learned not to worry too much ... there's always a way out of any situation, but we also don't take any silly risks. Most places we travel do see traffic fairly regularly, we've just been fortunate to get to experience some of them solo, and for long African trips we've taken a satellite phone 😊
A beautiful part of the country 😊
So true
Wow, it looked like you had the whole park to yourselves, wonderful. Thanks for sharing with us ❤
We were really blessed with having the entire campsite to ourselves .... awesome!
WOW absolutely beautiful so remote so isolated love it! Hopefully 1 day you'll take us through Kruger again 1 day 🤔😁
Great video! Loved it. You to are so funny anfd so true about the toiletpaper. I thought it was normal in SA, but i guess not😂
Thanks so much for watching 😊 Ooh that toilet paper 🤣
Great episode, always look forward to your adventures.
