Really interesting and beneficial talk. Questions not to challenge but to see if some of the issues are really issues. 1) Historically on the ground, how open amd welcoming were Muslims within their tribes, ethnic groups, differing governing municipalities, etc to others? Yes, there was honoring the guest, but did they ever experience large influxes of people? If so, how were those engagements? 2) There is something to said about the nation state and that spread - including dawah - and growth of the ummah that may (may not) have taken place. What are elements we need to retain the positive elements of the nation-state order?

Racism, tribalism and nationalism. These are the biggest issues…

Thank you Dr for a visionary speech. Alhamdulillah at this point in time the ummah is one step closer to the ummatic vision than before. As you rightly mentioned, tyrannical governments are indeed problematic for the ummah. One such example is the Turkish government itself. Erdogan persecuted and still continues the persecution of many Islamic movements who does not agree with his actions and especially his corruption. Hizmet movement is in fact going through a nazi like persecution. Hundreds of thousands of people linked or unlinked with the movement have been put in prison for nonsensical reasons like using the banks operated by the movement linked people. Erdogan regime named the movement as a terrorist organization shamelessly and abducts many many people from overseas to bring them back to Turkey to put them in jail. Human rights have been violently broken.

They are more democrats than Muslim... you do the math.
