John Marston Vs Gravity Red Dead Redemption II According to Brink Pink
Okay but where you guys think the ferry took off from in the rdr1 intro? Now knowing the rdr2 map. Saint Denis? And why was he there in the first place when he lives at Beecher’s Hope?
They made all this progress in story telling and presentation and gameplay just to abandon it and tell us that GTA6 is going to be underwhelming and more like gta v. I’m done with rockstar
Fun fact: you can encounter a man who took part in the massacre of the Wapiti Tribe in chapter 2 of the second game. He can be found in a random camp encounter, east of Valentine out in the plains, or at least that's where I found him. He goes into some detail about the conditions of the camp and the things the soldiers did, which I found absolutely fascinating because I think he's actually the only living witness to the atrocity you can find anywhere in the game... Everyone else is either long dead, or understandably doesn't feel a massive urge to come out and confess what happened and what they did. At the end of the encounter he fades off to sleep in a drunken stupor, I assume this is the part where many would kill him for what he did, but I just walked away, he wasn't at fault for what happened, and leaving him with the guilt and the memories is a far more fitting punishment... If he were awake, he'd probably want you to put him out of his misery. Which is exactly why I didn't.
and if you loot him, he has a old native american ring on his person! its a unique item as well, adds to it all I think. The soldier never sold it, instead he held onto it for the rest of his life... until he met me that is lol
@@BrinkPink and this wasn't a recent thing either, the camp and it's remains are meant to be YEARS old in the game's lore. I can't remember when exactly but I wanna say the remains are over 10 years old.
When you put all the prologue again and you played (and replayed) RDR2 it makes a lotta sense and makes a full circle to the some little interesting details on your journey at the end at the wild west, while like you said, thinking that on the first game at the moment t'was just a remake structure of the Red Harlow adventure with the western spaghetti influences, simply amazing
I just thought, the "only angels can fly" line is quite interesting, as it shows a refusal of change from the priest. Shows there isn't as much difference between people as it may seem.
What techniques were used for the slow-motion shots in this video?
I think also the word and the civilization is the same thing is more just calling the hypocrisy of what they deem civilised even though it took tons of violence on part of settlers and the american government to makes that civilization on the bodys of tons of natives and being far more the descriptor of savage than any native tribes were to them. I agree that the loving act and hateful act being what rdr2 goes in on though i feel thats spot on.
I think with jenny and the angels cant fly bit i feel thats more of just a light misogynistic priest discounting a news story because he heard it from a woman the interpretation about people and angels feels like a stretch. Also fyi when they say savages they're talking about natives its what they called them as an element of dehumanisation. Which also puts a spotlight on the pastor talking about people and savages like they still think theyre not worthy of heaven even though the natives dont personally care about christianity . It calls into question that even the idea that it was even worth it to do those conversion camps aka concentration camps is up in the air that their humanity is still up for debate which is disgusting. so you know native people are still getting prejudice. And in some cases they still are today more from government screwing over resevation land than interpersonal but those still happen too. Anyway i feel like when thats more clearly the point of the two convos seeing these stretched meanings i dont feel they fit. Still and interesting interpretation.
5:54 In fact, if you complete Albert Mason's missions as John, Albert Mason will mail you the wolves pictures . So you won't miss wolf pictures and you won't have to start this missions as Arthur. In my game Albert mailed me a wolves picture of two days after completing his last mission.
ngl, i cant think rdr2 is better than the first. everything good about rdr2, I feel it just adds to the feel and story of 1. but no gta has the strength of either. hands down
05:00 I faced Grager after the motherhood mission. Instead of using dementia I Shoot his house several times and Gerager got angry and started drawing and I defeated him and took a picture of him and this glitch did not happen So I think I solved the problem.🙂👍🏻
It needs to be remade in an engine the quality of 2's. I would pay triple price for it. The game is an absolute masterpiece of storytelling.
When you said the thing about flying and Arthur i thought you were going to mention You literally Fly As Morgan In RDR2 in A Mission just sayin.
hah, oh yeaaaaa right the hot air balloon
@@BrinkPink Apologies Two Weeks Late and Happy To See i got a comment back! And Yea esp i think that even plays so much stronger seeing how he was was of the few in the vander lin gang to fly
I hope RD3 we get to play as a young Dutch, leading up to the events of this heist with the ending as the escape from the heist and leaving off right where RD2 starts.
Man i cant wait till red dead 3 and it to be prequel, I also hope they complete jacks story but maybe in a different median instead of a full game
Bill wanted John so bad. Poor feller
loooool hahahaaa
Awesome video! Was very surprised to see that sub count, you deserve way more dude! (i know, the algorithm sucks)
thanks so much for watchin and the kind words friend! im just tryin to do my best
Just watched this after finishing the prologue on RDR1 after doing my third run on RDR2 and I have to say I think you've hit the nail on the head. I was quite blown away with the amount it gave me to reflect on. (Especially the first conversation with marshall Johnson!) Would LOVE to see a series on the context of 2 in 1 or maybe other segments that you feel are noteworthy! Really enjoyed the video my dude, your commentary was great and I thought the way you put it all together was fantastic! subscribed and looking through your library now!
Bonnie is continually one of the most entertaining characters in the story, the way her preconceptions interact with everyone and her tough but sensible and caring demeanor is hard to get tired of.
bonnie is the best!
Lmfao I'm so glad youtube recommended me this, the intro was great
i never even considered the ferry was so important and I replayed this 5 times
29:30 I’m pretty sure he said that the next time the 2 saw eachother, when John was with the Marshall
Good video bro
it was an unexpected add on to a dlc I only wanted for the master sword trials, and yet it changed everything. Hero's Path is incredible, since making this video, we have hit 400 subscribers...holy crap! thanks so much for every single view yall! see you soon for moh vids on dem games ♥
Great video
thanks so much!
375 subs but 33k views? Bro blew up 😮💨
I never had problems following charles
i meant if you walk at a normal speed, its literally impossible to hear everything charles and john haveta say, happens in all the sections for that mission sadly
@@BrinkPink Weird.
Man this is one of the best red dead videos I’ve ever seen. I’ve been playing these games for years and never thought of a lot of these connections
Archer Fordam deserves a lot of respect at least when compared to his partners ans hugher ups. He was simply doing his job and didn't seem to take any joy in what they did to John and when it was all over he was respectful to John and i believe he was fully intent on honoring their deal and never seeing John again but Ross had other plans. Another detajl is I think he may have not been present during the beachers Hope raid. There is an agent standing in the firing squad outside rhe barn that is wearing a similar suit but its not 100% clear if it is him or not so depending on the facts there He might have even objected to the plan and staged out of it.
Rockstar has some amazing writers, they obviously did not have RDR2 planned when they made RDR1, but they had the whole script solidly written that they were able to write a compelling prologue that lines up with everything.
Bro they write the entire story before making the games
love but i fell to my knees clutching my chest when you chose that bunk ass riverlands farm 😔
@@sshyrighh its bad? lol uh ooooops
As l recall red dead jenny also die if you ignore her quest
Fun fact: 150,000$ in today’s money would be almost 5.5 million dollars
Fun fact, a Mauser C96 pistol cost only $35 in 1899 in real life, but it costs $250.00 in the game.
This is why the internet was made 🍿🙏
need a prequel leading to the Blackwater heist
I don't know why they've never done a re-release with all the cut sense and challenges they couldn't fit in for time and money
*Redemption 2
In my opinion, Jenny's quote about not knowing the difference between a loving act and a hateful act is a testament to her innocence, naivety, and lack of real world experience. We learn how naïve and sheltered she truly is later on as she believes she can survive in the desert with no food or water on God's faith alone. She has never experienced true hate or evil, or the realities of danger and the harshness of nature and survival. She is a simple religious girl of the Church, who likely grew up sheltered under the close watch of her parents and the Church administration. She may hear of and read of bad things that occur in the world but has no concept of them, or experience of bad and hateful things being done to her. In contrast, that is all John has ever known. He has seen evil and been evil himself many times throughout much of his life. He knows what humans and the natural world itself are capable of. To hear such a naive quote must make his eyes roll, because he surely can differentiate between evil and hateful actions, and love and good actions. Of course there are instances where these lines become blurred, and revenge can be pursued from a place of hate towards the instigator and love for those who suffered at their hands, but these are specific instances. Generally, John could very easily tell Jenny what the difference is between hate and love, and what hateful people are truly capable of.
The inherent supremacy of the Single Action Army .
For a new youtuber your pretty good!
@@One-kf9er thanks!
TELL PEOPLE ABOUT THIS CHANNEL HE DESERVES MORE SUBS
i didn't think you still looked at new comments, many don't
One thing I did after a long break from the game was I downloaded a savegame from some guy on nexus, where basically he speedran the campain and did none of the side content. This was a unique way of experiencing the epilogue for me. Every side content out in the world was available to do as John, as well as challanges, trapper hunting ect. Can also recommend doing this after a break from RDR2, because Arthur has a kind of charm that John lacks, and playing through the story makes the swap glaringly obvious. It is a bit strange, because John definitely had some charm in RDR1. I feel like the whole epilogue and playing as John unfortunately was hastily made. I wish they made Rob Wiethoff spend a few more hours in the audio booth for the epilogue.
As far as I'm concerned, the most compelling connection between one and two is when Ross and Milton confront Arthur while he's fishing with Jack. Ross says 'enjoy your fishing, kid, while you still can'. 15 years later, that same kid shoots Ross dead while he himself is fishing.
I agree with you, them meeting up at a river is awesome, but sadly the fishing part is a minconception, Ross isnt fishing, hes in fact shooting quail... Which is something John told his son, Jack theyd do in the coming season, just as Edgar Ross and an army arrives at Beecher's Hope during the end of RDR1... Ross is also, horrible at shooting quail. Essentially Ross is literally doing (poorly) something you were supposed to do with your father, he even robbed you of that the bastard.
There's so much heart in RDR that it pains me to think that RDR2 is likely the last title Rockstar will produce with any real soul to it. Obviously GT6 hasn't been released yet, and for sure there's every chance that game's story might have some real heart to it. But GTA Online set such a horrible precedent in terms of what's most profitable that my hopes are not high and I sincerely believe that we've seen the last of R*'s genuine storytelling at least as far as original stories go.
Tbh I think GTA Online just didn’t have the same level of writers for it. Because while yes it was the money maker, they knew that no matter what the story was people would play it. But even GTA5 story is very well done, I think it’s probably just below GTA4 with the red dead games on top. But it’s still very clear with Red Dead 2 that at least for that game they still cooked up one of the best games of all time with one of the best stories. So I don’t think we should lack faith, because the same people who wrote GTA 5 wrote Red Dead 2. Two completely different types of stories.
You are super underrated bro I subbed to you. Can't wait to see what you'll make next!
It’s crazy how the story of rdr1 confused me so much then after playing 2 then going back to 1 im no longer confused and im actually more than on point
You should do let’s play series. I’d watch you play RDR2 and stardew valley 👍🏼
well thanks! someday i probably will, but not for now
I second this, not enough good let’s play series’ on red dead 2. Maybe you could do like a pretty in depth playthrough too, showing secrets, exploring a lot or most of the content, discussing things about the game. It has good potential. But all in due time
dude 270 something subs????? totally thought this was some 10k channel's vid at least. great, GREAT video and congrats for lucking out algorithmically. looking forward to more
thanks so much, im grateful for every view! im just happy to see people enjoying what I make, its an honor yah always gotta start somewhere
It adds a lot when you haven’t played it for ages and forget all of rdr2s abysmally convenient writing, shoehorning in the worst characters for the epilogue, making John ugly on purpose aaaand waiting till the end of the game for him to act anything resembling John Marston 😂 Rdr1s storytelling was just light years ahead of the sequel lmao
RDR2 is simply a Piece of Art to those of us who truly see this masterpiece & all of the love, hard work & dedication that has been put into it. I don't even [play on it pc right now just my PS5 & the graphics are still breathtaking. Since 2018 when it came out to today in 2024 there are still videos or articles everyday about new things found in the game to philosophical tales and comparisons or just the lucky few who have just discovered this game. RDR2 is one of those very rare games that people, including myself, would trade a lot of "Gold Bars" to just experience this game for the 1st time again.
