I don’t remember my birthday parties but the earliest one i remember was when I was in 7th grade, turning 13 (I think lol) as an army brat at a very young age, friends were hard to keep and remember. But I moved one last time to Texas and actually made friends immediately. I invited at least 7 people to my trampoline party. My friend group. Waited 30 mins and only 2 of those friends came. The twins. I still end up having fun. I’m forever grateful for the twins. They never once left me out and when a sleepover was planned, not only them, but their mom made sure that I was invited. I still have a connection to those twins as we spent our junior high to high school in the same school. Covid hit and, you know, friends split, which happened with most of my friends. But I’ll never forget about how they were always there for me. My party, sleepovers, Halloween. I love them. And actually miss hanging out with them.

My bday is in 2 days. My so called mother and I had a huge disagreement then disagreement turned into fighting then into hatred. While having a disagreement I got told that I won’t be getting anything for my birthday. I’m turning 17 in two days and it’s not really exciting for me. The moment she knows something special is coming towards me she shuts it down whenever we fight. Pent up anger from days ago just spilled when I found out Melanie Martinez wouldn’t be doing another concert for the next 4 years after her trilogy tour. My dad never tells me happy birthday and I doubt that I’d get told happy bday by anyone.

I remember the only birthday party I've ever had I was allowed to invite 10 friends to go get ice cream and go to the arcade with me, I invited 9 friends and my (Now ex) boyfriend, nobody showed up, they all said they were busy with family stuff, so it was just me and my dad, while we were at the arcade, I checked my story on snapchat and they were hanging out and one had posted "Omg Raine invited us to his b-day party, so glad we didn't go" I ended up crying then and there and my dad felt so bad

Unrelated to birthday parties, but this is kinda what it feels like to have ADHD and not being able to do things accordingly to other's expectations. ADHD makes it so hard to keep my room clean, remember basic things, and have a hard time doing chores because it overwhelms me. When my parents say something about how lazy I am, it always hurts. I try my best but sometimes I just end up crying thinking about how I tend to have these ‘pity parties’.
