Aw, I appreciate that, thanks! Senior Class and Varsity both have great themes, alongside the Training Challenge song. There's a bunch that I think about! Although I'd totally want to do a slower pace song from the game too, like the Academy Building, to really use some of the other instruments the N64 game uses for pieces like the records screen.

I'm glad you think so, thanks! The thing I had the most fun with was learning how to have effects toggle in the middle of the song, and it really shows, I think. Excited to use that knowledge on my next big project when it's ready (hopefully) next month!

Several different plugins, actually! No straight up soundfont SF2 files, but I can name a few important instruments. Omnisphere is the big one, and it has a *lot* of great sounds baked into its selection. The guitar is the same one used in Mario Tennis 64 and Tales of Symphonia, as an example, and the male voice at the end is also the voice used in Crypt of the Necrodancer! Besides that, I use the Arturia Augmented line for strings and the piano, alongside several individual synthesizer plugins like TyrellN6 and Synth1. I'm glad you like the song, by the way, I'm very proud of it! Did a lot of learning about enabling different effects to create some cool stylistic stuff this time around.

Yes, exactly! I still think about Tennis GBC's music on a regular basis, I've been meaning to squeeze in another soundfont cover when I've got less immediate ideas striking my inspiration. The Sakuraba guitar from the N64 soundtrack is soooo good!

I understand exactly what you mean, I love the original (I suppose that's obvious if I did a remix!), but like a few other tracks from Command Mission I felt the loop was a bit repetitive. The core musical idea of the song is *so* good, though, so I knew that if I could toss in some interesting variation to build on top that it'd be a catchy remix.

Now this is a quality comment right here! Now that you put it back in my mind, please excuse me as I listen to Unwavering Belief for another 4 hours straight, it rocks my world so hard

My feelings exactly! Wish I had done this remix a little sooner to be closer to the game's 20th anniversary, but I'm close enough, haha. I agree wholeheartedly that Epsilon stayed in my mind for far longer than he probably should have, given how little presence he actually has plot wise. But the combination of his voice, his theme, and *extremely* cool design always made me like Epsilon. I wish he could have had some love in X DiVE!

he certainly left an impression at the end of the first chapter, if only by his stoic demeanour and voice alone. I'll have to replay the game one day and see just what it was about the presentation that made Epsilon such a cool, awe-inspiring villain in the game.

Exactly, I love Shake It! The soundtrack is extremely underrated, there's multiple tracks I adore. If I had the spare time between other projects I want to do, I'd cover another song in a heartbeat.

After Mega Man X8 got its 16 Bit demake, it really made me wonder if someone converted this RPG to a SNES platformer, actually. It'd be another cool project to see this game given another chance!

Man, if and when a new MM title actually happens, if Ninmark helmed that soundtrack it would be an absolute dream. I like 11's OST and all but the Ninmark energy is so good!

I'm quite pleased with how it came out! Considering I've never successfully done a Eurobeat angle to music before this, it's something I'm proud of. I'd definitely tweak some things now that I had a bit to reflect, like the profile of the guitar could use more reverb to be a little more distant. But those are just lessons to take into the next time I do this style!

Finding the right timing for the off-beat swing of the song was something I ended up taking a while on, I wanted to make sure I got the feeling right for the flow of the piece. I'm happy with how it turned out, glad you liked it!

They do not! It is indeed Nitro Man, which is also why I named the remix how it is. I tend to like blending in other songs that I notice have similar themes or musical ideas, so Nitro Man was a lovely pick for this one!

Thanks! It sort of happened when I looked at King's design and remembered how he shoots an X shaped beam at you in his first phase. (Plus I really love Variable X, I've always wanted to sneak it into a mix!)

@@korshalvalent just a few things I should note 1 there are 2 different English localizations English and English (Japanese voice) both are in the language options PLAY ENGLISH (JAPANESE VOICE) as the other localization is one of the worst localizations of all time and even removes features from the game 2 use a guide for getting the true ending as 2 of the jewels are kinda annoying as one jewel has different locations depending on the version (switch version and later changed it) and one of them is really annoying with a guide And 3 don’t forget to play gunvolt 2 as it’s really good

Man, I know, right? Once you notice how well the two weave together, it's hard to keep them separated! I definitely thought about final Sirius phase 1 for inclusion since everything else is there, but at the time I couldn't quite get a grip on how to do it.

Thank you! X4's soundtrack is actually a great influence on my overall style, that combination of synth leads and rock guitars has been something I've loved for ages. Really been working on my sound design to nail that type of profile!

Thank you, I had a lot of fun creating the visuals! It was pretty enjoyable to dig up old school TWC broadcast images and then create something similar for the video. Especially finding the fonts and the correct TTS voice!

I can envision a loop sounding good! It would require slight instrumental adjustments on my end, but you could probably run the core loop from a bit into 0:23, and then at 2:43, instead of the key shift ending you could run it back. I haven't thought about my music being a modded track, even as a thought exercise, but it's fun to think about!

Ripped it myself! I used a program called N64 Sound Tool to rip all the game's instruments as .WAV samples, and then I used Reaper's built in sampler engine to play them for the song. Unfortunately I have no current experience making a SF2 file, otherwise I'd compile them into something for others to use. Never say never, though, as I'd definitely benefit from learning how to make SF2 files.
