I started 'Seize The DIY' to share my experience and passion for various trades, aesthetics, and innovation with the hope of inspiring others to seize the moment and create something intriguing.
I work as Sr. Creative Director, Innovation Dept / New Wine Brand Development. I'm AAU, S.F. alumni, with over 17 years of experience in graphic design, package design, point of purchase, and corporate identity.
I've lived an alt lifestyle- skateboarding, guitar in a metalcore band, etc, but I have a passion for all genres of music and an appreciation for fundamental ways of doing things... yet, the sentiment of challenging the status quo and thinking differently will always be a part of my work.
I love art, graphic design, interior design/restoration, industrial design, product design, product displays, guitar, vocals, clothing design, music/production, printing/pre-press, photo/video, automotive, creative process, legal, trademarks/patents... and many will be content here.

Fantastic! Working on a Harry Potter haunt this year and I hope my windows turn out half as good as yours.
Really sharp!!
This is extremely impressive. Too complicated for me to try to replicate but inspiring! I'm thinking of adopting a few of these design ideas for the canopy 'bed' I am making - there will be a real, store-bought bed in the middle of a bespoke black painted frame surround, so it's not really a 'bed' more of a 'bed surround'! I would never have thought the scaffolding would look so good though not my aesthetic - it looks amazing!
I love how your window turned out. I have seen a lot of various foam board projects on YT. When I purchased my house the previous owners left a whole bunch of it along with cherry wood paneling, all kinds of tiles and other building materials. I think he must of did home remodeling and construction. He built a super cool treehouse; my grandkids love it. Very well made. I could see doing something like this to the windows. They were moving out of state so they left quite a bit of stuff which some I have already found use for as I love up-cycling. I do wall murals and I like the 3D effects.
"I want a man's bed. Not a frilly bed. A MANS BED."
Amazing. Subscribing!!
Awesome, thank you!
Love it!!! Want to do this for my room now
..excellent video very talented ,, question are you making these amazing, beautiful 4 posterbeds frames ( in different bed sizes)for sale with the put up instructions manuals , im in the u.s.a and im intrested..
Hello. Thanks so much for watching and for your kind words. I’ve had a few requests and considered building bespoke versions of the bed made to order. I think the challenge is, assembly requires some knowledge and carpentry skills from the buyer, and freight would be expensive. I have considered assembling on-site for the buyer as well. The material costs to build aren’t too bad but the labor for me to build it would increase the total price tag to be somewhere around what a quality 4-poster king bed goes for. After googling it, 10-15k is what is market price is. If that’s of interest for you, please email me: info@seizethediy.com Thanks!
You’ve got some serious artistic skills!
I really appreciate that- Thanks for watching!
How many total vines did you end up making for this video?
About 20, 12 foot lengths. Thanks for watching!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
🤘🏻
Do you sell any build plans?
People have been asking… I’ve been intending to finish them. I’ll post them as soon as they’re done. Thanks for your interest!
How can we order that brick 🧱walls stuff ? Cam we order in online buddy❤
Hi, thanks for watching 🤘🏻 I put a link to similar panels in the video description.
So the black ceiling seriously has inspired me to do the same especially when you add the lighting it really is a nice touch! I just got a low profile bed but no head board though so looking to add something unique to make it stand out more! Why is cutting wood so therapeutic lol loving this and your attention to detail/technique or maybe it’s your voice lol either way def a vibe😉 ❤
Good job
Thanks
This is beautiful!! 😍
Thanks so much!
I wanted a hanging canopy bed. But I saw this and fell in love. I just came back to the video to send it to a friend and got sucked in watching it again. 🤦🏽♀️🥴😅 such great construction and detailed notes. I’m such a nerd. 🙃🤦🏽♀️
Excellent tutorial!! Totally gave me the confidence to try this myself in my new condo! Thank you!
That’s such a great compliment. Thank you! Hope it turned out amazing!
Is there a way to get a pdf of the template? Really great build!
Thank you! I decided to sell a wood version of the window in layers on the site instead- it’ll be up soon. You can use that to create an interior decor piece or as a template for additional windows in any substrate like the foam.
I'm here because I want to hack my basic bitch windows lol
That is so cool ,who do you get brick panels from ? Tonez New Zealand.?
Thanks! From barrondesigns.com or check my video description- there’s links there
Cool video new sub!
Thanks for the sub!
How did the corners end up? Like the offset between trim and pannels
Baseboard and crown sit slightly below the brick depth, but looks okay IMHO.
where did you order your panels?
Links are in the video description
I love a man that can DO things! So many useless betas out there these days......
I could see three of these lined up on a basement wall with no windows. Genius man, I loved this video!
Thanks a ton! Definitely- I’m working on wood versions to use for interiors. I have some small scale tests lasercut and if they workout I’ll offer full size kits for sale on the site.
@@SeizetheDIYI would totally buy off your website if you did that. I love this faux window
@SeizetheDIY I would buy off your website, if you did this!
This might be a little too custom,. Not sure this is good move if you want to resell the property.
I worried about that too, but I’ll be here for a while lol. When I sell, the panels can be taken off and repair the wall if needed. Check my DIY canopy bed vid for the final look though! Take care
Looks absolutely sick!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks so much! 🤘🏼
Weiter So!
Cool design, nice idea and good work! 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you! Cheers!
That’s an awesome way to make those! So simple. Glad to see another video 😊
Thanks! ☺️ It’s been a rough year but I’m back lol.
@@SeizetheDIY Any new videos coming?
@@notta3d 2 videos being edited and 2 projects being built! Thanks for watching and asking 🤘🏻
Omg you're amazing! I'd love to be with a man that is capable of this!!! It looks so great!
You are extremely talented. Not only with this project, but the video quality. Highly impressed.
Thank so much, that means a lot. I aspire to one day do this for a living and replace my 9-5… so your comment gives me hope. Thanks for watching
Bro you have all the talent for this seize it 👑🔥
I appreciate it brother 🤘🏼 thanks!
Nice, but what was the purpose of painting the red then painting it black again?
Hi, thanks for watching. The voice over notes that it’s not required. I was demonstrating how to make the sign more visible for daytime use. It’s much faster to just skip that step as suggested in the vid. Thanks!
Wow!! Fantastic!! Thanks for sharing all the details! Amazing you put it together by yourself!
Thank you! Cheers!
Do you have a box spring or just use the mattress on the slats? Trying to see where the height is coming from because the slats look so close to the floor?
Thanks for watching. As far as I know, a box spring only provides a large flat surface for the mattress to sit on because most bed frames are only a wireframe without any flat support. The frame I built has a platform with a large flat surface for the mattress, so no box frame is needed.
Awesome work man. Stupid question, what nightstands are those? :)
Thanks man! The nightstands were originally different- I stripped the lacquer off, stained them a new color to match my media console and changed all the hardware to contemporary black that echoes the lines in the bed. I’ll see if I can find a link, but there’s a clip on my tiktok if you search for my channel name there
Very cool! Channel name is genius!
Thanks so much!
The led rope I can find is wider. What is this rope called so I can find it?
Hi, the links to everything are in the video description. Thanks for watching and good luck!
Can you add grout to these to make them look more realistic? do you think it will attach if you add it?
You can definitely add some grout-looking adhesive… I purchased some for this project and considered using it, but ultimately it looked okay without it. As far as real grout, I’m not sure- might work! Thanks for watching!
I just found your video while looking for a way to repurpose leaded glass door inserts. They already have a gothic arch, so I need something easy to shape. This might be exactly what I need, but how do you think the strength of the foam board would hold up to a 1x4.5 leaded glass?? Thanks so much for this beautiful project!
Thanks for watching! Glad it could help you… the foam is strong but idk if it can hold leaded glass. I used to have a workshop by a stained glass artist and his work was VERY heavy. I think I’d probably use the same technique I show in the video but with wood.
Excellent video as well as the workmanship.
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to provide some positive feedback 🖤
Sick Video! Super Narration, music, and video editing along with production process!! Love it man!! Excellent Work indeed.. I am going to produce the Monaco race track for a friend with this neon wire rather than the power consumpt Neon wire. He wants to batter power!!!
Thanks man! Much appreciated. Keep in mind the EL Wire isn't bright enough for daytime use... it's only visible during night time. If you need something for day use, you should probably opt for the more expensive route and buy the LED Neon Strip lights. Best of luck dude! Thanks for watching
Wow! Top Notch! Bravo!
Thanks so much!
I need to make an adult loft bed for my small room and this has given me some solid inspiration, thanks.
Inspiration is a huge compliment! Thanks for watching! Best of luck on your work!
Wowww this is so dope❤❤❤
Thanks so much! 🖤
Mate you did really good job 🙌🏼👏🏻 Would you tell me the name of those lamps?
Thanks man! I appreciate it. The lamps are hard to find; I bought them on clearance and then painted them black… I put a few alternatives in the video description though. Hope they work for you! Take care
please let me know if your willing to provide your plans and drawings for the frame. i would pay or donate to you. i have no desire to build commercially. Would just be a home project for my wife and myself Mahalo and Aloha
Thanks for watching and for the interest in building your own! I'm considering selling the plans by creating a membership / subscription or Patreon for all my designs/plans. Would you be interested in that? I'm not sure I'll sell one-off plans for the bed design (without a subscription to Patreon to support me) because it could then be made and sold commercially, and that's something I'm considering doing myself-taking custom orders for bespoke furniture.
@@SeizetheDIY I understand your desire to make money on your idea and project. I would be willing to pay a reasonable amount for the specific plans for this specific project. I do believe that you deserve to be compensated for this project if that’s what you want, Sotheby’s balls in your court now. I have no intention to build and sell your design. I would be proud to build a similar bed and let my family and friends know where I got the idea. Thank you again for your video. I will eventually figure out what I need and how to build a bed similar to yours with or without the plans and design drawings. I again will proudly tell everyone where I got the idea. I am a retired guy who has no desire to go into business with your design. Again I applaud you on the awesome design. I applaud you on the awesome build. You have every right to be proud of that bed. Thank you again
