Although I wouldn't want it changed / couldn't ever see it being changed, Im weirdly not a fan of Minecraft's durability system. It feels like a pitiful attempt at increasing "management" when even in early game, it's hardly even something that'll affect you. Only time it does is if you want to clear out like a large area (say like, the inside of a mountain and you dont have mending tools or explosives), in which case you'll then have to make an entire hotbar worth of the same tool. It's not even challenging, just this arbitrary layer of inconvenience that does NOT feel satisfying to overcome. There are definitely items though that make sense to have limited durability (like flint n steel) but for something like, a fishing rod, it makes no fucking sense.

This is a pretty good case in regard to why the modern video game review feels the way it does. I can remember many cases of players of a game like Xenoblade Chronicles 2 being overly defensive anytime someone brings up certain criticisms, because said issues were presented in a "comedic" manner by someone like videogamedunkey. And then those upset with how it was presented tend to write off dunkey (and likely others who have little experience in the subject), and you then end up with a collection of folks who may probably avoid any review perceived to echo the same sentiments dunkey received, and so on. I find though that such effects are magnified on places such as Twitter because of how communication is rapid-fire in comparison to UA-cam or Reddit. In a way, trying to hold some video games to a monolithic standard is the same as expecting someone to BE Batman or Michael Jordan, when it is physically impossible.

Having never played Fire Emblem before, I actually didn't even know it had durability mechanics, so that's interesting to learn! One of the main things I hope they fix in BOTW 2 is weapon durability, and I think they've heard plenty of feedback to the point where they definitely plan on changing it. Unexpected use of "durability" for the Kanji tank argument, but that was a super cool flex of the term! Overall, a very good video. Earned a sub from me! Sorry for the long comment, but I wanna encourage you to keep up the good work!
