Amazing hand carving by Japanese.Mysterious wood joinery"Shihou Kanawa Taugi".
Переглядів 3,4 тис.Рік тому
This Japanese joinery looks the same from all four sides. Therefore, it is a very mysterious and interesting wood joinery that does not know how to join and how to remove it. This time, please take a look at how to carefully make it by hand using a saw and a chisel without using any electric tools.

Japanese Wood Joinery "Daimochi Tsugi"
Переглядів 3,3 тис.Рік тому
"Daimochi Tsugi" is a joint that combines the ends of both members by processing them diagonally. This method is used for log hut beams, and is ideal for connecting girders, beams, and log beams of different heights! A dowel is made on the joint surface, and the bundle is put on the joint and hardened by applying a load. #amazingwoodcarving #traditionalwoodworking #dovetailswood another respect...

There is a video from Japan where they make some frames for the garden. Nothing special but it was strange to see them using the traditional supersharp planes for garden stuff .

It says $600 from Suzuki Tool in the USA. Wow! Must be some great steel. Also I am not sure if the Japanese dont put a secondary bevel on their blades allowing them to hand sharpen without a jig.
