    The intense heat from the sun and other stars are breaking the magnet field at the earth's poles. I fear that the human race is in great danger and eventually spin out of the gravitational field of the sun

    • @dr.science7901
      @dr.science7901 6 днів тому

      It’s true that the sun’s intense energy, including solar wind and radiation, interacts with Earth’s magnetic field, especially near the poles, causing phenomena like auroras. However, Earth's magnetic field is much stronger than the force exerted by the solar wind, and while it may fluctuate, it provides significant protection from these effects. There’s no immediate danger of Earth escaping the sun's gravitational field-this would take an extreme amount of energy and a catastrophic event far beyond what solar activity can cause. The more pressing concerns are climate change, space weather events, and protecting our technology from solar storms.

    Every single one of these items would probably have been invented without wasting billions of dollars in orbiting the Earth. Has there ever been any direct improvement to life on this planet by space travel? Will there ever be?

    • @dr.science7901
      @dr.science7901 2 місяці тому

      Space travel has led to numerous advancements that have indirectly improved life on Earth, though the direct impact is often less tangible. For example, technologies developed for space missions, such as satellite communications, GPS, and improvements in materials science, have found widespread applications on Earth. Additionally, space exploration has spurred innovations in areas like medicine, environmental monitoring, and energy efficiency. However, the question of whether space travel will directly improve life on Earth in a way that justifies the immense cost remains a matter of debate, as many benefits are more indirect or long-term.

      @@dr.science7901 Thanks for the reply. I actually meant to say that I don't think there is any need for humans to venture into space. It's one thing to send satellites up there, but to sending humans into orbit is a wasteful extravagance in my opinion. All the benefits that you state in your reply are true, but they all could be achieved by remote robotics alone, the extra cost of creating a 'living environment in space ought to make any sensible government draw the line. Thanks again.

    • @dr.science7901
      @dr.science7901 2 місяці тому

      Sending humans into space is costly and complex, and many tasks could be achieved by robotics alone. While robotic missions reduce costs and risks, advocates argue that humans offer adaptability and creative problem-solving that robots lack, along with inspiring advancements and future survival prospects beyond Earth. The decision weighs cost against the unique benefits of human presence and long-term exploration goals.
