5 Technical LinkedIn Video Mistakes
5 technical mistakes I see over and over in LinkedIn video content.
(number 2 drives me batty)
1) Backlighting from a window
Don’t shoot your video with a window behind you. Face the light, and you’ll instantly look better.
2) Poor framing
Stop cutting off the top of your head or putting your eyes too low. Proper framing makes a big difference.
3) Poor audio:
Invest in a decent mic. It's not even that expensive anymore ($20-$100). Audio quality can make or break your video, especially in a non-soundproof office.
4) Repetitive visuals
Batch recording? Change your shirt or background between takes to keep things fresh. People get bored of the same shirt/same place every video, which lowers views over time.
5) Flat background
Don’t film against a wall. It makes the video look claustrophobic. Add some depth by showing the space behind you, but keep it tidy.
Which one of these bugs you the most?
For me it's number 2.
Makes me chuckle every time.

Переглядів 1639 годин тому
Most videos on LinkedIn don't work. (But the reason why is not what you think.) Most of us assume entertainment or humor is the key to good video. And while that doesn't hurt, the real fix is actually way more simple. Because these are business videos, it's not about humor. But a proven structure that brings value to your audience every time. Here are the three components to make your videos ap...

When I say "video" what do you think? - No time - Not sure what to say - I'm uncomfortable with it Or maybe all of the above, right? :) Here's what's crazy: My video agency has solved all of these issues (and more) using our Content Buddy System method. But sharing is caring. So in that spirit, here's an excerpt from a session Sophia Vega and I recently did. Video doesn't have to be time-consum...

The Power of Influencing Your Network
Переглядів 5314 днів тому
You have more clout than Gary Vee or Alex Hormozi. But you're not using it if you're active online. I often hear founders say: "I don't want to add to the noise online." As if their thoughts don't stand a chance against the Alex Hormozis or Gary Vees of the world. Here's what I mean: Content isn’t about dominating the market or becoming famous. It's about influencing YOUR network, no matter wha...

Building a Strong Network on LinkedIn
Переглядів 6114 днів тому
I launched my business thinking it would be sunshine and roses. But quickly discovered something critical was missing: A healthy network. - I wasn't getting referrals because people didn't know me. - My past coworkers and colleagues will still at their old jobs so they couldn't "bring me with them." - I was a stranger to 99.99% of business owners. I tried traditional networking, but it was extr...
Measuring Results for Better Marketing
Переглядів 2721 день тому
I think this is why so many entrepreneurs are skeptical of marketing: Marketers are failing to measure KPIs and benchmarks against goals. Sometimes, they don't even set goals in the first place. That's why we approach video content with a clear plan. - We make hypotheses about the topics we want to cover. - Then produce video content within the bounds of those ideas. - THEN ALSO measure the res...

someone going around doing talks on how to be successful at business instead of... you know... just running a business... are people whose business is just to give talks. they're usually incompetent and their advice is nearly the opposite of what you should do.
