@@planoman0935 local dealer here in Wisconsin. I sat in it and really felt cramped inside. To many gadgets for my taste and I don’t really live where I could use the truck for what it was designed for. There a lot of raptors here but all are pavement princesses.

@@Mjr1348 Were you shocked to see the prices down here in Dallas? My off road is a pavement princess as well. Unless a wreck in the interstate and everyone starts going to the feeder roads! 😂

Congrats! You will love it. This week will be 4 months with mine. Gonna drive the 3rd gen this week and clean it up- undercarriage etc.

@@planoman0935 Excellent! I live in CO and Dallas as well. I ordered blackout steering wheel emblems for my 2020 Tacoma and also a 24 tundra from Etsy. Did you black out the front emblem on the new Tacoma or did it come that way? Where did you purchase your blackout pieces?

@@gregwarren4699 My Tacoma came blacked out for only $349 😂 Our 3rd gen has the blackout steering wheel emblem as well but the 24 steering wheel emblem looks a bit smaller.

Based on my observation they are the lower trims. The Sport and Off Road seems to be moving and SR5 and SR sitting. It will be interesting to see Tacoma sales for 2nd Q at end of June.

This Launch 7 Magnacut blade is pretty sharp from the factory and hefty! 83 grams light! Kershaw also has a lifetime warranty and lifetime sharpening.

Thanks for your comments. Well I got a premium 4th gen off road which is loaded so can't make a direct comparison to our 2023 off road. Hard to quantify how much the new engine, transmission, suspension, rear disc brakes and safety sense 3.0 is per new Tacoma. If you haven't experienced them you will only think of the visible differences. I think when someone hears the price and automatically proclaims it is too much more is misinformed. Buy it or don't buy it but don't act like it is the same truck with only cosmetic differences. I agree that if you didn't want a Tacoma in the way it is going, it's your money and there are other options.

Well all machines can have issues. When you look at Consumers Reports reliability study 2000-2023 based on tons of surveys. Lexus is 1 and Toyota 2. They are not perfect but no American car companies were in the top 10. I put by money on Toyota.

its true though, the 4th Gen is just better in every aspect, except 2 things. The Price for sure, second is the reliability concerns. We won't know about reliability until we see higher mileage, and what experiences people are having.

Can’t understand the negativity. We have both trucks in our family! I like meeting Tacoma owners of all generations. Change is inevitable . Why be negative over it? The V6 is bullet proof but sluggish. Not everyone values longevity over performance. Not everyone wants to keep their Tacoma for 10-20 years.

@@mknervy I miss the gas tank on the 3rd gen! I wonder if a larger aftermarket tank will come out. The price is a combination of improvements and higher costs and inflation. Do people actually think is cost less to make a 4th gen over a 3rd gen just because it is made in Mexico?

@planoman0935 their is definitely a difference between the two and it all does boil down to a persons expectations out of the truck. It is a better all out truck, lots of better features, and design, it's well thought out. Also technology is advancing, id rather a 4 cylinder turbo over electric at least, the smaller engines are going to only get more reliale with turbos, and no one better to make the most reliable one than toyota, so if it needs to take a year or 2 or 3 to get things dialed in, then so be it. Each brand mid size lacks something, so dependong on what you want out the truck its what you'll go for. Sadly rn price and interest rates are just inflated and that is something that no one is happy about on all ends sadly this is what orices are now. Crazy. Maybe it gets better who knows

Agree the Benchmade prices can be the price of two good knives from another knife maker. I just ordered my first Kershaw. USA made Launch 7 with carbon fiber and magnacut steel. It is an automatic. Excited to check out magnacut!

Truth! I get almost 20 in town and 24 on highway but miss those gallons. I routinely go 350 to 360 before refueling. there is a 2 gallon at least reserve when the range says 0 miles left.

That is another video I made where I indeed point that out. Not unual when transitioning to a new model Ranger was down 80+%. I also point out that Tacoma still led the mid size trucks in sales for the 1st quarter 2024. I dont't think most people know how dominant Tacoma has been on Mid sized truck sales.

@@planoman0935there is a reason why they went from 4 cylinders to 6s from the early ones 6s are more reliable especially naturally aspirated! Unless the US allows the turbo diesels available from overseas Yotas, no thank you on the new motor!

Many things get predicted based on data analysis including how long you will live. That’s how they determine life insurance rates…they do the same for vehicles.

The new “4 banger” has a lot more power than your gutless 3.5 V6

@@tacomaadventures540 Not sure if is the same, less or more...I just know they predict it wil lead the mid sized truck segment! The engineers say it is tested to the same standards as the NA engines. Knowing how much math an engineer takes and how they can measure stress on components mathematically, I will trust them over those who just assume they are the 4 bangers of our fathers...

You hit the nail on the head. Most of the people whining about the price are the type who finance a new vehicle ever 2-3 years.

Yeah because manufacturing halted because everyone was locked down which drive prices up and no one was buying because they were not allowed to travel anywhere because everything was closed! Just not smart, Toyota is overpriced and made in mexico crap right now!

No trade value for made in mexico marked up garbage. They have already seen fitment issues and now Tundra motor issues, Toyota sucks and lost their way, from a YOTA frean.

It is funny to hear people say built in Mexico -no way. That’s one thing we don’t hear much in Texas. Mexican workers are some of the hardest most skilled workers of all.

@@dennisclouser3458 I have owned all three and no difference I could tell. My 3rd gen Tacoma was built in Mexico as well. Had a 4 runner from Japan. Pretty sure Toyota has engineers QC in all factories.

They absolutely do predict it! Not always accurately to the %, but they know enough to know Tacoma will likely lead the segment like it has since 1995 -before you got in the car busiiness. Check the prices on used Tacomas versus other makes. I thought 63% was low. I bought a 2019 SR5 4X4 in July 2020 and traded it in this February and got 88% of what I paid so the percentages can vary.

They’ve done it for years and they are fairly accurate. They’re even more correct and what models will do compared to other manufacturers.

Don't take my word for it. Check the sales numbers, they are public information. And I already own ocean front property! Tacoma was the top selling mid size truck in Q1.

I think we are hearing now it comes with premium trim; so SR5, Sport, Off Road premium trims. If you have a premium trim and don’t have one, I would follow up with the dealer.

Agreed! I am not saying their pricing is spot on, but the 4th gen is really improved in almost every way so I cannot see it not being a huge success!

Maybe they didn't want all the past taco owners that wanted to keep their trucks for 10+ years and 300k miles...
