ONE MORE VERSION OF EL PASO, THIS TIME LIVE. As we mentioned yesterday, this awesome Marty Robbins song first appeared on his Gunfighter Ballads album (1959) and the single reached #1 on the pop charts in 1960, quite unusual for a country song. This clip comes from the movie Road To Nashville in 1967 and I believe is the closing song. Some concern has been expressed by my friends that I'm turning country and disowning my punk roots. I'm here to say Have no fear! Your humble scribe will punk out in his next post.

I'm sure that's when the names of the last 8 episodes were released - sometimes it's fun to look at them in advance to predict the events... kudos to James Herbert for connecting the name 'Felina' to this song and predicting the meaning. Only wish he had spelled the name right!
