Woowww, my poor filming skills back in the day 😂
HHEELLLLL YEAH BROther!
Nice truck
@@JeronWhite thanks!
Nice
Congratulations with the baby! Couple months late 😊
Are you familiar with BSF recovery? @/offroadrecoveryteam (remove the "/") They have an 86 GMC squarebody, with some mods for offroading and frame replacement (broken during a recovery) from an 88 GMC 4x4. Same shade of red as yours, LOL.
Sure am, been watching him for years too! That guy has a talent for finding 4x4 duallies! 😂
Your bottom half of your sling lift is up side down, and you never lift the casualty and the boom, with a cable that has cable clamps on them, I own a 73 like this, but I'm surprised at the fact you sped off with an aging truck. Better learn this truck and do your research before you hurt yourself or others.
@@lilmockme8821 Holmes documentation states the t handles face the ground. Also, you can lift the boom with the main cable to adjust the mast cable. And finally, it’s a dead end private road. The general public was not endangered in the making of this film 😂
7:40 It's a 5.3 that runs 53 at 5.3k
@@Zionslayer1 it’s a sign 😂
Awesome allen key trick! Thanks
Nice thanks for sharing. Just wondering how it will holding up with the automotive cams, head gasket..
@@knowyuhgrow420 so far it’s been totally fine. Freshwater only tho. I don’t think it’d survive in saltwater. I am going closed cooling over the winter because next summer we’re doing lakes and the coast. So it’ll see both.
Nice thanks for sharing we about to do something similar
The fuel injection works great yeah touch the key and you go, but when it takes a shit, do you have all the abilities and equipment to figure it all out and to repair it
@@larryjohnson5597 sort of. I have a tool bag with a handheld scanner, fuses, test light, basic electrical tools. Minor failures no problem. But if the pump takes a dump or something catastrophic like that, it’s over whether it’s EFI or carb lol.
Imma try my best to follow everything you’ve done to your boat to mine come January.
@@tankhorton70 as you get into it you kinda hit a rythem and it falls together
@@dieseltechjb let me ask you this, instead of using the boat gauges, would you even consider going to a display monitor or something of the sort? I
@@tankhorton70 you can, other people have. I just like the gauges, keeping it original looking. But yea it’s been done
nice catch with the camera
I have a 5.0 and i'm really considering putting a 5.3 like you did
@@MrGuillermo1020 deff worth it
Any chance you have a pdf of what you dis with the wiring?
Went looking on the lsswap website and facebook group, but i'm a little lost still.
@@MrGuillermo1020 I posted in the wiring video where I got the diagrams from, and I showed in the video how I put the 2 together, I do not have a pdf
@@dieseltechjb So what about the ECU did you had to do any tuning to make sure you didnt get any codes, or it wouldn't matter, maybe that would be another great video, explaining everything from start to finish.thanks
Man goog job, I'm wondering how fast does it run?
@@MrGuillermo1020 I’ve had it doing 55 so far, I need to put a different pitch prop on it, it’s deff got more in it
Looks good on the water !
@@trentonbriones2381 deff a great cruiser! Thanks!
I created a group on Facebook called ls swapped boats Mercruiser and Volvo drives if anyone wants to help others or get help with their swap
You did a great job! Thank you for the inspiration. I found the stand alone LS harness on Amazon. I would really like to see how you programmed the ECM. You do a great job explaining. Thanks for the video.
@@scottsmith2869 glad it helped you! I’d recommend watching the “universal patcher” video by “lowbuck LS” UA-cam channel. For an VCI OBD device I have the OMDMX+. Universal patcher doesn’t seem to like it but it does work with it. I’d suggest looking into whatever VCI they recommend on his channel
Are you having a issue keeping temperature in the engine? What is the temperature when it warms up?
@@mikemoreno7329 kind of….. I wanna go closed cooling so I’m not paying a ton of attention to it. But. It ran 190 with a 180 Tstat. I drilled a bleed hole in the Tstat because it was boiling the water. It’s now running 150-160 which the LS isn’t happy about but it’s getting it done. We took it out today and let it eat, and it kept cool the whole time.
@@dieseltechjb enclosed cooling system is the way to go. I’m in the process of doing the same but just worried about keeping temperature in the engine. Thanks for your quick reply.
@mikemoreno7329 closed is better no doubt. But for open I ended up plumbing mine so that it goes into the exhaust first to preheat, then into the engine the back out to the last 2 water ports on the risers to exit. Works really well. Boat sits at 175 with a 164 Stat.
nice video have fun with it
On the water and moving👍. You have included the how the why and the parts used 🦸♂️. Keep us posted , how the O2 sensor plates work long term, how it runs. 🚤 All that fun stuff. Great videos
This is how a video series should be. The how and why matter more than the wow look at it go.
Love the man I’m doing exactly the same thing on the same boat
I'm suspecting something to do with either the ICP or IPR.. anyone else want to chime in?
For your shift interupt, use a normally closed relay and activate it with the interupt switch to kill the power to the ls coils.
What exhaust are you using to make your conversion? Having a hard time finding a Merc cruiser exhaust that will bolt up to the LS engine very expensive.
@@mikemoreno7329 yea there’s no cheap way, believe me I tried 😂. Gotta suck it up and spend the 1600 on crusader 6.0 manifolds and risers. Guys in Australia are using 351 Cleveland manifolds but they’re common over there, but super rare in the US, so it’d still be expensive anyway
Nice job. If I was plumbing the fuel system, I'd place the filter on the inlet side of the fuel filter. Mercruiser used their "cool fuel" setup for injected applications, they used a low pressure lift pump to feed the high pressure pump.
Or just do what your brother recommends, and weld a washer/nut to it, cause ER70S6 steel wire out of a MIG won't weld steel to aluminum... 😜
You need an intro clip bro. Then lead into the body of the video
I love this so much! Not all hero’s wear capes 😍
Where ca n we get the harness diagram?
@@MrGuillermo1020 LT1swap.com for the standalone diagram, the mercruiser diagram can be found in the mercruiser sterndrive FB group
I love the update keep rolling ! 👍🏽
I have a 96 lund with a 4.3 that I have been searching for info on how to ls swap. Thank you for taking the time to document this journey! This series has definitely inspired me to forward with it!
Where did you get all the documentation for this? Do you have a link?
Ls1swap.com The merc diagram I’m going to upload I just havent got that far
@@dieseltechjb exactly what I was looking for! Planning on LS swapping my boat, and wanted to take the cheaper route and not use an MSD box for the ignition. Keep up the good work!
@@StinkyOrange007 thanks!
A good thing to go over in the next video, would be explaining which circuits you kept for this particular swap.
Yessir it is because they’ve got to be fed from a fuse block. I’m working on the part 2
Keep up the great work. Much needed info for everyone.
Thanks! Doing what I can
Really appreciate the broken manifold stud removal. I didn't know about the allen key trick.
No problem! Thanks for watching!
Appreciate you showing us the details. I'm hoping to do this swap someday.

Ever find the issue?
No but I have a feeling the crank sensor harness was the source. It lost a piston that year
Do you think one of those would work for a 2004 Ram 1500 how many i was thinking about getting one for my truck
looks more like a Holmes 220 slide in unit of back in the day
from what i've read the 220 was just a 440 with an electric winch, but haven't been able to confirm that. this one came off a 77 C30 with a west coast bed
@@dieseltechjbyou are correct. Your wrecker unit is a 220. 440 had a pto winch.
@@haroldphipps3457 in its current configuration, yes pretty much. It was born a 440 on a 77 c30, but I pulled it off the bed and mounted it in the pickup so I guess its a 440 pretending to be a 220
@@dieseltechjbDo you still have the 77 C30 and the west coast bed?
@@mopargssr I bought the bed from a towing company that went out of business in PA. The truck was long gone. I still have the west coast bed sitting out back
