Untitled 2014 is so beautiful! I heard it for the first time when I watched the MAMA Live last weekend. I had no idea this was one of GD’s older songs.

T.O.P decided he did not want to be part of this K-pop life anymore. I think he thinks he’s too old to be in K-pop. So I did not expect him to be here at all. T.O.P is busy with his wine business. I heard that T.O.P is going to be in Squid Games 2, which will begin 12/26. I still love T.O.P! I hope he is still on good terms with the remaining 3.

This isn’t the first time they performed together post military. Daesung and Taeyang have been doing their solo work. GD performed with them at one of Taeyang’s concerts with Daesung. Also GD attended Daesung’s concert in Seoul (GD had a goatie at that time 😆) and saw him backstage! I always get so excited whenever I see them together. I’m so glad they’re together again. But this was the first ‘really big stage’ for them post military.

One more that's not already explained in the other comments: 일당백 '지뢰밭' 본업이 (Born to be) 'BANG' --> “One against a hundred, ‘minefield’, my main job is (born to be) BANG” There is wordplay here. In Korean, "main job is" of "본업이" sounds like "born to be" so it sounds he's saying "Born to be, born to be Bang", but the "be Bang" part sounds like "BIGBANG" He's basically saying his main job that he's born for is BIGBANG. Also, "minefield" or '지뢰밭' is a slang in Korean twitter used to refer to hated/criticized groups/artists. And 일당백 (one against 100) can refer to someone who is strong enough to stand up against the odds. I think he's basically saying He (and BB) are strong enough to stand up against all the criticism and hate even when it feels like they are alone against hundreds.

I saw a great explanation of this song and want to share: There are lots of Korean wordplay, so some lines of lyrics might feel awkward, These are some clues that you can understand the song more. 88: GD's birthday is 18.08.1988, So he puts his own meaning on the Number 8. That's why he wrote so many 8s in his lyrics. You can see the Metro map on 2:03, it's a track-list of his up coming album, there are 8 tracks. The last line of lyrics ("Fly high"): The original Korean lyrics' pronunciation is "Pal Pal Nara" (Means fly high). There is a wordplay as well, 'Pal' is 8, same pronunciation, and 'Pal Pal' is kind of onomatopoeia, 'Nara' is Flying, so this line was translated flying high in English. And that's why the ending scene shows 8 8 (Pal Pal) and GD jumps (Flying) (Nara) In addition, he came back in 88 months since his last comeback. The meaning the wordplay of the lyric "Spot to rest, a Global Luxury": The original Korean Lyric is this, 누울 자리 글로벌 명품 "Nu ul Jari, Global Myong pum (Glo / bal myong pum)" In here, Glo means text, lyrics, writings, everything about word or text. Global is global, the exact English word, but here's the thing, Bal myong pum is Invention. So he connected two Korean words to one English word (Glo + bal). And Myong pum is luxury, the words share same pronunciation, so these are some wordplay using pronunciation of Korean and English. This is crazy wordplay. in my opinion, GD likened home("Spot to rest") to every goal such as social status, honor, his position in the field, and he invented his goals, and it's also luxury. The main hook "I don't give a shh, Laughing end 'Money' Donating 'millions' Grin": last year, GD was suddenly investigated for drug scandal. During the investigation, every single time he attended to police station, he said "I don't care because I never drugged." At the result, the truth is GD was innocent, at the photo-line in front of the police station, he laughed. After the scandal, he recognized that the risk of drugs in Korean society, He founded a foundation for drug eradication, he donated KRW ₩ 300 million (about USD $ 218,828). So this story is where the lyrics came from. Meaning of "Power Abuse questioned Tolerance Natural Disasters Unavoidable Circumstances" During the drug investigation, journalists raised him a suspicion of Power abuse for having Drugs, at the same time, Korean News channels delivered that rumor without fact-check. However after investigation, he was innocent, and he was possible to accuse those News channels, but he was tolerant to them, he announced he will not get a court. This is the story of "Power abused questioned Tolerance" (Natural translation is like "I was tolerant when I was questioned Power Abuse"). Natural Disasters (천재지변: Chun Jae Ji Byun) = (천재, 지병: Chun Jae,[Genius] Ji Byoung[Chronic illness]) same pronunciation wordplay. Genius always has Chronic illness, and it's unavoidable circumstances (irresistible force). Meaning of "Forcefully criticize Spread a meme Talk blah blah shout out": During the investigation of drug, some news channels, fake news UA-camrs, and social media delivered GD's old interviews. In the interviews, he looked like he was addicted to drugs, because he speaks slowly, suddenly smiles, unnatural facial describing and his eyes. And these became memes and many publics criticized him. It was such a baseless criticism. That whole news scene can be seen as a reference to his investigation. The text on the screen says "GD's Daily life" meaning they were dissecting every little detail of his life. Something I just found from another video: The audio track runs for 2 minutes and 24 seconds. This means 2+2+4=8. Comeback after 7 years and 4 months = Comeback after 88 months + The ring that GD wore in the music video is worth 6.4 million dollars = 8.8 billion won. (his love of "8") He also said on Youquiz that he wanted to come back in the year of the Dragon (this year), so if he waited too long it'd become the year of the snake. That's why he is coming back now. He also said he's ready to show more of his "Gdragon" side since he's been Kwon Jiyong for a long time now. "G to the D" - "G oat the living legen D" Anyway, sorry for spamming your comments. I know you're one of the real fans here so just wanted to share everything I knew. :)

He said the song was a satire on the power of media, but it’s also a diss track for all the hate he received last year when he was unfairly accused. Some lyrics translated w/more meaning: “Forcefully criticize, spreading malicious memes, going ‘yap yap’”- last year there were malicious memes and clips of him going viral all over social media and ppl criticizing and making fun of the way he walked and talked and used those to justify that he was on something. He’s referring to all of that. “Comments, replies, attention seekers - Shut these guys up” - basically telling all those internet trolls to shut up “Don’t waste your time yea it's gotta be me, prove 'em all wrong I've got all the receipts” - He literally proved everyone by clearing his name. Receipts = evidence (neg test results) “I don't give a 쉬-잇 = I don’t give a shii “웃다 끝 '돈' 기부 '억' 씨-익” translates to “It ended while laughing, donated money, millions, smirk/grin” Last year when he was questioned after he came out of the police station he said “it ended while laughing” which is the exact line he uses here. This line became pretty famous bc it’s not a usual thing to say coming out of a police station, but he was that confident. He also smirked at the reporters. Lastly he donated 300 million to his drug foundation. So he's basically describing the incident last yr- "it ended while laughing, he donated millions, and smirked" Also, '돈' 기부 '억' 씨-익 = Sounds like ‘Don’t give a shit’ in Korean so it sounds like he’s just repeating “Don’t give a shit” but it’s actually a Korean phrase. (so clever!) “88 날아”= 88 is pronounced “pal pal” which means energetically so “fly energetically.” ‘88 is GD’s birth month, his fav year My fav line: 나는 나다워서 아름다워 - I am beautiful, because I am myself or because I am true to myself. Last year he was criticized so much and had to explain in an interview why he talked a certain way, walked/moved a certain way, and why he’s different than before. He’s basically saying, I love the way I am and I'm beautiful. My MV interpretation - I believe it’s some sort of set of his life (kind of like the “Truman Show” which was GD’s main inspiration in his Kwon Jiyong album.) If you look at the set, everything isn’t as it seems meaning what the media tries to portray isn’t always the full picture. The car is actually just made of cardboard, he is sitting backwards in the car in the opposite direction, the clouds are just a TV screen. The robed guys just constantly nodding their heads - Maybe they could represent the mindless media that are constantly following him everywhere? At the end is the cloud wall that also appears at end of the Truman Show- it’s a similar scene here. The “Untitled” MV also had a similar scene and there was an alternate ending where he also falls off the ledge and it’s a sad ending. But in this one he only pretend falls, but then hops on a trampoline (you can see the trampoline here but it was shown on a bts). I think this symbolizes he’s not going to fall, he’s enjoying life, he’s not going anywhere. Also, you notice, that as soon as he opens the door and walks out of the “set” he turns into Kwon Jiyong, acting goofy and playful. This is the real him when he’s off camera. There are also some clear references to other MV - like Coup D’etat, Crayon (riding the toy car), Michigo (subway scene) Also some other references: Nothin but a G Thang - Dr Dre; Who run the world? - Beyonce; Started from the bottom, now here - Drake

Yes, he looks healthy and happy - so good. Übermensch can simply mean superman ( Nietzsche - so deeper too - I think GD has referred to him in something else) someone said the 2 sides of the U on the doors and jacket looks like 2 people looking at each other and they suggested him looking at himself and saying yeh - you got the power. I like how you look 2/3 times. GD's music/lyrics can just be straight enjoyed - but he thinks a lot too, so it seems there is always more than first meets tbe eye. Each scene here could be linked to a part of his life (all supposition of course😅 and don't know why them) opening one looks a bit like Crayon to me. When he sits up on the hill surrounded by flowers and then drives a mini car. Someo e said the room with the tape could be a police interview room done up as a crime scene referring to when he was falsely accused. The barber shop is like something from a GD and TOP MV and/or a BIGBANG MV. The rainbow testcard background was used as a background for TOP when he was not on stage. Trying on the glasses might be about during the investigation (that found him innocent) the glasses he wore to the police station immediately sold out. The last scene in the subway is a bit like his michi-go mv. Apparently all of the track names from his upcoming album are written in the carriage. This may be why the manin red isn't there, because it represents the GD in al his earlier life. In the subway he is there as himself now with this mv and the track names of his upcoming album. He then steps out through the door - like in the Truman Show - as he is now free of his past cares, worries and burdens and is just goj g to live his life being his own beautiful self. If GD read this he would probably crack up at how wildly off track it all is 😂. He and Tae just appeared on Zip Daesung and part 2 is next week. So, did you know that GD also helped co-write the new babymo ster track called Drip (same as album title) Tx for reaction.

GD will always have the Power and I can't wait to hear more of his music going forward. Hopefully we'll have Tae and Dae join him at the MAMAs and future concerts. I only learned of BB since 2020 and am thrilled that there's potential for more music and performances to look forward to regarding these fantastic artists and especially the Kpop King, GD.

He has a video on his Instagram page that is also full of "messages", different from the M/V. Very interesting and worth checking out. So looking forward to the album, the MAMA performance, and the TOUR!!! OMG, I don't know if my old heart will take all this excitement... I just about keeled over with happiness at the 3 of them back in September! I'm upset to learn that I missed watching the MOTTE documentary with you. Omg 😀😀😀😭😭😭 I think I listened to this song 100 times so far and each time it gets better. I’m no expert in figuring out all the meanings but what I noticed is I see 3 everywhere, 3 people in each scene, 3 goats, to me can only mean bb is 3 😢. Some of the scenes reference past MVs he did, and this entire video was shot in one take. I also noticed he didn’t lip sync at all, he didn’t sing, only moved from scene to scene. He dissed the media but he has power, emotional power, they can’t touch him anymore. Of course he flexed, he knows he’s a legend. Sigh, it’s almost personal how he affects us, I’m so freaking proud of him! I’m truly happy. His power is spreading to me. Did you see on X T.O.P’s Squid 2 little segment? Yesterday I watched the show GD was on recently, it was over 1 hour and I watched the entire thing, didn’t understand a word. His voice got lower when he talks, maybe the smoking, dunno.
