    You unplugged and replugged the positive and negative terminals in the exact wrong order. It should be: Taking off: Negative then positive Putting on: Positive then Negative If the negative terminal is connected to the battery, all the metal in the car effectively functions as the negative terminal of the battery. That means if the red touches any metal in the car while the negative terminal is connected, it causes a short circuit. That’s why you saw the sparks when reconnecting the terminals.

    People burn threw there batterys fast because I think the charge to begin with at 100 percent,keeps slowly but surely draging it down after its shut off,then when the alternater charges it the next time its only chareing it to a lesser percent fully,my 2024 sport has already started with all kinds details have to be worked out,I dont think its safe still,an I just brought it home friday,an all the soft ware was not installed.I use dabs an beer btw lol

    • @fixitwithbeer2435

      Thanks for watching Larry. There are just so many electric components on the modern cars that the batteries just don’t last. The Bronco Sport has fans to cool the headlights. I panicked when I heard the fans running 6 hours after driving. I looked it up and it is very common to have headlight fans at any time. Good luck with your Bronco Sport.

      Thanks for watching. I have never had to work on the spinning lug. I just did a quick UA-cam search and found about 20 different videos including different methods of breaking, drilling, wedging and sawing. I think it depends on your exact situation. If there is enough room, I might be trying a socket, breaker bar and a cheater bar and see if I could break it off. If that did not work, I think I would buy a couple good metal drill bits and try to drill it out. Good luck and let us know what you find out works.

    Negative terminal should be removed first - before removing the positive terminal cover. This is to prevent unintentional shorting between terminals (or between positive terminal and any grounded metallic component of the car) with the socket wrench. • @johndong7524
      @johndong7524 2 місяці тому

      @@fixitwithbeer2435 I don't know. The oil filter on my car is located underneath the vehicle, so I have a mechanic change my oil, but if I was in your situation I'd just buy an oil extractor and do oil changes myself since there's no need to crawl under due to an oil filter being conveniently located on top. As far as your question, I watched a UA-cam video where they used an oil extractor and then drained the remaining oil from underneath. There was just a little bit left, so it's not really a problem. People have been using these oil extractor for a long time. If the remaining bit of oil was an issue we would've heard about it by now. The biggest issue with the oil changes is the fact that people neglect to do it on time, not that it's not drained to the last drop. Those quick lube place don't drain the oil completely either, but it doesn't cause any mass engine failures. So yeah, if I were you I'd get an extractor because crawling under a car is something I really don't want to do.

    80 miles or 80 km ? You said 80 miles but wrote 80 Km on the filter. B-

      Thanks for watching. Great question. I wrote 80K on the filter as an abbreviation for 80,000 miles. Meaning that the car had 80,000 miles when I changed the oil. So when the car gets to 86,000 or 87,000, time to change again. K for kilo or thousand.

    The best video, very relaxed and informative. I have a 2004 GMC Yukon with the same issue, got the beer just awaiting on parts.

    Great video. You are lucky to have a truck not in the rust belt, I couldn't believe how clean it's under there! I have a 2011 Chevy silverado with the 4x4 so not sure I have enough beers to tackle this myself.

    I cannot believe you only have 257 subscribers (i am #258) as this is fantastic. I have 6300 and my vidoes are way, way more "thrown together" if edited at all. You have the personality and the editing skills. ASK FOR subscribers, and loose the beer. It's unrelated and adds an element of unnecessary room for opinion that doesnt have anything to do with the cars or you. You need to record everything you do on that truck, put it on here, and ask people to subscribe! Before you know it, this channel will pay your gasoline bill each month. Looking forward to seeing more from you

      Drew, thanks for the nice words. I don’t know how I missed this comment a month ago. I try to respond to all of the comments. My daughter is the editor, it is pretty easy to tell which ones I edit and which ones she edits. I subbed back and am working through your videos. Thans for watching.

      @@fixitwithbeer2435that’s an honor! Thank you :) So when I went to do my wife’s, I was brutally informed by the front differential that 4x4 models are less fun. I’ll be loading a video. 1) drop diff onto crossmember 2) loosen the 15mm bolts that hold the strut to the a arm to allow the CV axels to come down more 3) they come out to the outside rear of the catalytic converter 4) it sucks lol That said, really enjoyed and appreciated your video! I’m honored to have you checking out my stuff thank you !
