Great tutorial🤘🏼
Thank u
Thanks to you i managed to make a nice sandstorm in my desert level, THANK YOU! (i reused a missile smoke sprite for the sand cause lazyness)
Thanks for the video, very well explained, it was very useful to me
Man, so many teachers have an ego and never want to show "weakness" by acknowledging they don't know something. So much good learning when the teacher demonstrates something up until the edge of their knowledge and then tries to explain what they don't know. I really appreciate that you do this (talking about the soft particle factor bit)
thanks a lot man
Im having the same issue. I thought my M3 max was broken. I'm still looking for a solution
This video is a hidden gem! Thanks
Just in case you're still wondering how to solve the soft particle issue: It's possible with the Amplify Shader Editor and its Depth Fade node. I don't know if it's replicable in the standard shader graph but I guess you can do it with a shader script if you don't want to buy Amplify.
Amazing tutorial! One question, my particles seems to collide with my player/camera and they just glide off, its like an area around the player is forcing back all the particles, you know how to fix that?
nice video... thanks
Thanks for video. This was one of the videos I was looking for
good video... keep the good content...
Thank you so much! Great video, interesting explanation, just great). Keep making video tutorials, you're doing a good job! Any option how you can make a beautiful thundercloud effect with shimmering lightning?
Looks like theirs some lighting shadow system is that by default?
Hello again @trulgn, I am wholly making use of Unity (HDRP) lighting and shadow capabilities. Some of the foundational aspects are 'on by default' but not all of them. For instance, when I start a new scene - Unity lights do cast shadows by default. I often if not always adjust their quality settings along with the 'when and where' they influence the scene. I'll be creating a future video on Unity lighting and shadowing specifically for virtual production and filmmaking. This forthcoming video might serve you less than my upcoming video on my post-processing workflow, though (purely because Blender, your app of choice, will have its own way of doing things and I don't think much from Unity will carry over in this regard). You're welcome to watch it of course when it's released. I'm all for passing knowledge around.
I'm a blender user and my scenes always look flat lifeless when I render them. I'm surprised this is unity it looks good has a cinematic look. Any other editing or effects to get this end result?
I make use of HDRP's internal post-processing stack (chiefly chromatic aberration, global illumination, ambient occlusion, depth of field, color adjustments, and a number of others that escape my mind to mention in this moment). I manually adjust each post-processing effect by eye to achieve the result I find pleasing to my own sensibilities (I've found no 'magic button' to click for cinematic). I also find that what works for one scene is not always going to work for another scene. It may be possible to automate the application of your 'go-to' post-processing component effects - but the parameters for each will need a human touch to 'bring the plane in with finesse'. I'll be making a future video outlining the effects I apply and demonstrating their contribution to the final outcome on a scene. It will be in Unity - while it won't be Blender, perhaps the high level overview may still provide insights you can take into Blender and your own workflow. If that's something you're interested in - it's coming (I don't know when exactly, so with all humility this might be an appropriate non-spammy moment for me to mention signing up for notifications, but no pressure. This is a community channel and I don't intend it to be a 'spammy growth' channel.)
@@unityvirtualproduction yes will add the notification. Thanks for such as informed descriptive reply.
thank you so much helped me
outstanding performance from jerma 👏👏🎬
Thanks!
Really good video!! My struggle is to light scene with indoor and outdoor at the same time, if you do a tuto for that later, I would like it :)
Dude. you're such a fun instructor to learn from! thank you so much!
A well deserved subscribe and like coming your way, I've been looking for something like this for a while now. Thanks.
very helpful, thank you.
Great stuff! I use unity to make a video, but I do have problems with the feet shadows. If the are in a line then its ok but if not they look strange. I used a green screen to record the actor then placed a quad in unity. Lets share some tips!
Honestly the best video on URP lighting out there. Sucks to see your last video was 6 months ago, mate, they're really good. Hope you're doing well.
Thank!
Great video indeed.
Thanks for this video these were really great tips.
Thank you Master! But my player can't get inside the fog? here video link; ua-cam.com/video/SESmndyIztY/v-deo.html
make sure the near value of the camera is close to 0
This is nice man!!!
Pure Art!
Outstanding! Best of it's kind :)
Hi Question: The legacy shader doesn't work in game view or build when using URP. what am i missing? thanx Marc 😁
it appears in game view until you run the game. Anyone wanna chime in?
Thank you! I love your personality
you are amazing. love the energy
Thanks for the video man, this helped a lot!
You’re super welcome.
Thank you so much for this video, I've been looking to edit mixamo animations for days. Finally!
any real-time compositing options?
Yes, there are! Would you like this to be my next video?
Volumetric Fog option is not there under Fog
Unity is notorious for changing naming conventions and locations of functionality from update to update. I've been spending more time within URP lately, but I'll look into this for you.
Hello friend! Do you know how I can get the link of a video like youtube for example and use it with the chromakey shader (Without having to download it running externally through the link? Thanks!
Good question, my first inclination is to use the UA-cam video as a video source within OBS. Then use OBS as a virtual camera output source that is brought into Unity and projected onto a Plane / Quad. Is this something you would like to see a video on? Have you found a better way?
birds :'D
What limitations did you have using the Animation Rigging Package, compared to Umotion?
Think of using Unity's Animation Rigging Package as a tool for prepping a model for animating. And think of UMotion as a tool for creating actual animations that can be used on a rigged model. These tools sort of work in tandem, this way.
This is super helpful! Is there any way to code my own fog in to make a super dense spot of fog to create effects of things such as wafting smoke
Yes! Great question with a reliable answer. You can use Box Volumes & Sphere Volumes (with fog overrides for each) to create specific pockets of dense or thin fog. Volumes will fade in and out as you move between them. You could create a clear mountain top and a fog filled valley this way! Wafting smoke could likely be created using an animated noise pattern.
@@unityvirtualproduction Awesome! Thanks for the feedback! Do you have any ideas how I could mix noise patterns into a fog volume or code a some simple volumetric smoke based on a noise pattern?
@@photonpotato2490 Here's a video just for you. I hope it is helpful!
@@unityvirtualproduction Hello again, I don't know if you were trying to link a video, but it didn't show up. Thanks again for your help!
@@photonpotato2490 Let me try linking this again, lol. ua-cam.com/video/8pgi1TBGCKM/v-deo.html
I have lot of questions. How do you go about rendering and exporting? How to import clips that were rotoscoped and exported from after effects?
For Rendering & Exporting: I alternate between two solutions. One way is to use Unity Recorder to export your movie. The second option I enjoy using is Deckard Renderer. FYI, Unity Recorder is suited for Real-Time Export (machine dependent of course!). And Deckard Renderer is a much slower than real-time exporter (albeit, of much higher quality output). Each has their own use cases.
Is there a solution for real time Virtual camera Streaming output and input? any tipps apprechiated
Yes! I use OBS to turn any webcam or connected video device into a 'Virtual Camera Source' using the streaming output option in OBS. Simultaneous output can be done. My current setup isn't ideal, but I would be happy to make a video on the topic or to do a live stream.
Please make more videos, I will be your regular viewer
Okay, Deal! I'll get on it right away.
Hipernt, what are some aspects to Unity which you would like to see future videos created for?
Oh I found how to do that just type "_Lerp" as the name not "Lerp"
You found the answer! I can verify this DOES WORK! Thank you Big Smoke!!
Confirmed for me as well, thank you both!
Nice!
