We Visited THE IVY Restaurant in GUILDFORD UK - here's how it went!
Come join us in this video where we head to get some lunch at The Ivy restaurant! The Ivy chain of restaurants is known for being quite swanky and their restaurants are especially beautiful.
Have you been? What were your experiences there?
On the whole, I'd say it's worth a visit, though our experiences on this day made it feel a bit 'average'!

First Time at COSTCO UK Food Court - DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE // Sophie Shohet
Переглядів 8 тис.Місяць тому
Hi friends! Join me in this COSTCO UK VLOG where we try the Food Court after some shopping (and finding some amazing cushions!) We thought we'd try the food and give you a bit of a review: all in all, it is cheap at the end of the day. You're paying £1.50 for a hot dog and Pepsi, so I'm not expecting it to be Michelin Star level. BUT, I see so many videos recommending the food in the Food Court...

Join me in this (part 1) of a Q&A I held with you all on Instagram. The topics range from many things, but due to the nature of this video, I thought it'd be interesting to focus on cosmetic surgery questions. I've been getting accused of something I mention in this video since December 2023. The accusations started suddenly and I have done NOTHING to my face, so either I have a medical issue (...

Dear friends, happy Monday! We spoke briefly in the last Q&A video about how we want to leave the UK. In this video we unpackage that comment a bit more, and talk about where and why we want to go. Our assumptions on various countries mentioned are based on having watched numerous UA-cam videos from people who moved. If these assumptions are wrong, please let us know!xx

Vlog: We Visited 'NEXT HOME' in the UK - It's not what it used to be!!
Переглядів 6 тис.3 місяці тому
We visited a Next Home in south London! Next is a clothing brand that also stocks third party brands like Lipsy and Victoria's Secret. But 'Next Home' is their homeware division, where you can find great interior goods at fair prices. We actually furnished our first property together nearly 100% from Next Home! The only downside we found in this vlog is that is that the store seemed very empty,...

Sweden!!! Really!! Really look at Sweden!
My friend lived in London but moved to New York City. She needed same big city vibe.
Hi Sophie, I have immigrated from Canada to Portugal 30 years ago,and I love it..Being Portuguese makes it easier, but it is a very safe country and affordable country. I have the best of both world living in the south of Portugal ‘Algarve”. I also have a beach front apartment 40 minutes from home in Spain in Isla Canela , Ayamonte. Living in the Algarve the English language is very popular. There is a lot of British that chose Portugal as there country. Being so close to Spain makes us enjoy the two cultures. I say I have the best of both worlds. The only downside is we don’t have the Chanel stores so close. The closes is in Malaga which is 3 hours from my beach apartment. The prices are better in Spain for apartments but I prefer living in Portugal for the food and activities. I will be visiting London on the 26th for 4day for the first time. I will take your recommendation not to bring luxury goods and to be careful. I want to go to the outlet you go too. Let me know what I absolutely need to see. Good luck in your move. I think you would love the south of Portugal.
Singapore is so expensive , move to Dubai if you can buy a place which should not be a problem for you, it’s a hub that you can travel easily.
i love these vlogs!!! thank you Sophie and DAvid
I just commented on your London crime video about leaving my wallet in Singapore in cab and it was returned. I visit often and do leave my designer goods and phones on table - it is very safe. My partner is Singaporean but I wouldn't want to live there. It's as expensive as Melbourne Australia where we live in terms of housing (we were looking at buying small condo there <100sqm and looking at over 2mil SGD/AUD) and renting has gone up a lot equivalent or more expensive than Melbourne, very expensive petrol, basic cars are in excess of 150k SGD/AUD due the govt limiting congestion (that being said Ubers relatively cheap and public transport great), groceries/hair/nails more expensive than Australia but hawker style food very cheap. We are both doctors and work life balance and income in Singapore not great for that. That being said taxes one of the lowest in the world, great infrastructure, incredibly safe. I just find despite the warm weather I end up spending all my time in malls, indoors as the weather really limits any outdoor activity during the day time. In regards to pets I think they are also quite strict.
I call those butt leggings "butt munchers". I hate them
I am watching you at the gym! Please know you're inspirational 🙌
So I’m a bit late to the party, but there is no better place than Australia. Yes, it’s far away, but that has its benefits and how often are you planning on travelling anyway. Climate perfect, beaches, lifestyle -we’ve got it all !
Sophie you’re a beautiful woman inside & out & I’ve been following for years…I’m so sorry people have been so rude to you! AND I will tell you honestly without malice that I did notice something. I noticed this a while back when I came to the channel after nearly a year of being away & frankly I did think you had “something” done but it’s not my business so I didn’t ask. I took a good look at videos from 2-3yrs back & there is something going on that is giving you a puffy look overall. Not just eyes. Perhaps go back & look. People around you & yourself see you frequently & they won’t be able to see it. You will not see this yourself precisely because you look at yourself every day no matter if you think you’d notice. I am in the beauty biz for many years so I have a good eye for this. You look like yourself but have lost a lot of the definition, especially in the cheek area, you previously had overall but I don’t see that you’ve gained weight or anything. I think this could be hormonal. I wish you all the best on the health research. 🙏🤍
M&S reminds me of Kohl's and Trader Joe's in one :O
Agree on “kids” question, I had to quit my job after giving having our second son. Kids need to have one parent close all the time. My both parents worked and I remember myself feeling a little neglected and lonely
Why not Portugal ? Beaches everywhere, its still safe , great food , great people and great vibe
Not Malta, Cyprus , probably Lisbon is more you, sophisticated and good weather.
Eating pizza with a knife and fork.. GTFO
Tk-Maxx Is the equivalant of Winners and Homesense here in Canada. They carry many of the same brands. I get lucky sometimes and find Kate Spade or Ralph Lauren. Lots of Juicy here in Canada now.....I do well buying and re-selling Juicy on Poshmark. Winners are all over the place here....probably about 6 close to my office Downtown Toronto and I'm in one every week. Anne Klein is a popular designer label in Canada/US.
I would move to Italy in a heartbeat!
You mentioned Dubai - actually as a matter of fact that is the only place where you have the luxury life the same as in London, it is incredibly safe for a luxurious place (because of the religious stuff people do not steal) and it is very cheap for a luxurious place. David will have a beach. And as for London- you will not have London anywhere else, sorry
Sophieeee, i used to be your regular fan, watching everything years ago!! Then i stopped because it was all about fashion which im not really interested in… now i see you have a new channel❤❤❤❤ i am thrilled 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 😘😘😘😘
I only shop in Morrisons, never on a Monday as it is a bad day for most supermarkets. The only Morrisons outside the UK is in Gibralter where it is THE place to shop!
Sophie, you and David seem like lovely, thoughtful people and I appreciate that so much, thank you. I'm an American. I'm sure people globally, especially our friends in the UK, know what we are going through with our presidential election days away, kindness seems hard to find here. Keep doing what you do and making UA-cam a happier place.
Never seen ppl moaning about pizza neim junk food then eating pizza an hot dog with a knife an fork 😂😂😂 defo not watching these pair again, snobs lol
Totally feel the same way as you guys about the shopping experience. I just pay more to shop at Farm Boy in Canada because the quality is great, and the experience is calming. For grass beef and farm eggs, I drive an hour to my farmer once a month. Having said that, I never expected a gt3 owner to consider a budget teflon frying pan. Thought you’d be all iron Staub 😂
Miss you 🥰
I think your lav mic is going it sounds a bit tinny
Think about medical care when you're too sick to travel. Will you get top notch care where you choose. And what does lockdown look like if it's enforced.
Singapore: unmercifully hot and humid, miserable year around. How about Canada, Toronto or Vancouver? Years ago I lived in Sydney, and I consider it to be the best city on earth. I so wish I had never given up my residency status in Australia. Housing and most everything else are expensive now. But the climate is ideal, and I can't begin to detail all the culture, activities, and daily enjoyment there are there. Yes, it's so far from the UK, also far from other places. Importation of pets into Australia can be difficult.
Morrisons have free range chicken. "The Best" range. :)
Singapore is a great place. But its far from UK, 13 hours direct flight. Come if you can take the weather, its Hot. 27-35 degrees all year round. PROS: -Everyone speaks English -Very Very safe city ( u can wear all your luxury items out, no one is gg to rob u) -Clean and very convenient public transport/ all with Air-condition (u don't need a car, its very expensive) -Food is great ( there are cheaper options, get to know the locals, u will know where to go) -Private Housing can be expensive in certain areas (same as London) but you have a choice to choose cheaper options. (Public housing (HDB) clean , comfortable and affordable) -U can fly out of Singapore in under 3 hours to other South Asian countries for a short trip to experience a total different culture, food and BEACHES...Indonesia Bali, Thailand Koh Samui, Phuket.. etc just google. :) 6 hours flight to Japan, South Korea and China. Then back to the safe bubble Singapore SG :) -People here are nice and Friendly. Can be mistaken for unfriendly cos they are more reserved. CONS: - The weather is very hot 27- 35 degrees all year round But most places have AC :) summer only - Far from UK 13 hours direct flight from UK (take SIA Singapore airlines, best service ever) -Thinking.......................
Love your videos Sophie. I could listen to you all day 😂❤
Hi Sophie I recently moved from uk to dubai. I think you would both love it here.
Eastern Europe you must avoid even if is free you don't want to go there... the best place is 1 Tokyo 2 Zurich , 3 Norway, 4 Luxembourg , 5 Beverly hills or Malibu.
Well, for everyone just chill. My comment is just my opinion. As a Russian, I always wanted to live in London( how original you might say) The culture, the vibes, the scenery. Malta, and Croatia would never match that. Those are different kind of places, been there. I think it’s great when you grew up there, and have friends, relatives there. But if you moved there in your 30-40 it would be quite hard to build a social circle compared to those who were born there. I have lived in US for a while, and it was fun, but I would not choose to live in EU or US now because of how nationalist towards Russians those countries have become. If that offends you, or anyone who reads that, well, imagine what we hear all the time. On that note, I would say Dubai is great. The laws don’t allow discrimination on any level. So when I lived there for a year, my neighbours were Ukrainian, British, and Russian. And we all lived normally. In Dubai you can film. If you get a permit. People do that. U can’t film other people without their consent. Which I think is normal. Everybody say the laws are strict, which I think are just decent, common sense for most of people. U get good weather from October to march, and other months could be great for travel. Athens, is another vibe. Was there last summer. You can see that the city is financially not doing great, but the pipeline are very friendly, basically everybody speak English. Yet again, you might feel disconnected from people, because the people are not making good money. Which is a shame. The services are great, much more affordable compared to London. I have never been to Singapore yet, but most of my friends say, that it’s a business vibe mostly, so finding a chill lifestyle might be a bit difficult. Dubai would be my choice. Easy to travel, direct flights to biggest cities in the world, great tax system. I would also recommend Switzerland. I know, I know, no beaches, but everything else is great. At least when I was there in 2019. Cheers
Stay in Uk , you have great medical insurance!
You can’t hide a good DEAL from Sophie!!
On Singapore, please don't try to even minimise your tax bill there- they are not civilized about like they are in Europe, may be a little lower than UK, but not much-same with the cost of living. Malta is not a great shopping location, same with Cyprus. You may need a closer but more luxury orientated place- such as Switzerland, very safe with great luxury shopping, it's not much cheaper than London though.
Your lipstick is just devine!! What is it plzzz xx
Living in Paris, I would love to live in London. I don’t think Rome or Berlin would suit me.
I hate the connotations that come with stating you dont want children, almost like its as if youre not enough as a woman if you dont have children, or having children is what completes you as a woman. We never as a woman why she wants to have kids, so why are we asking women why they don't want kids. Oh, you want kids? Great! Oh, you don't want kids? Great! Its a personal decision involving nobody but yourself and your partner. As a single 30 ywar old woman, im constantly getting the watch tapping from family as they just can't comprehend that a young woman could possibly be hapoy single and childless. Its just a bug bear of mine. Love you and David, and the channel!
Liechtenstein ?
Sophie your new channel light hearted and fun. Plus i also enjoy your other channel. You and david make a good team.
Bingeing your channel when breastfeeding 😂 Love your channels ❤ Love from Oslo Norway
I went to the Ivy West Street in London last year during a trip, and it was fabulous. The food, service, and decor were spot on! I’m a sucker for a good shepherds pie though, as well as sticky toffee pudding! I will definitely be visiting again next time I’m in the U.K!
Some people are just stupid; ignore them. You don't owe anyone an explanation about anything.
I love their hotdog and pizza. It's a treat once in a while you can eat unhealthy food. Just went on a holiday in Orange county california and food is so tasty and delicious. I just prefer tasty food 😊.
nothing is like London....it depends on how rich is your soul and deep your interests. For the boding and superficial, everywhere is boring. I hear lot of cliches...here.
Have you thought about staying in England, but far from London, like Bristol, or Ylork? How about Ireland? If you want heat, though, those are not good options.
Mexico can be dangerous yes.
Sounds like you want to live in London 😂….
You look ridiculous with your tiny microphone 🤣
