Building an original Austin 7
A short film for any engineering and motoring enthusiast, in which Ian Cowan details his project, building an Austin 7 (the Austin Speedy Special). He didn't film as much for this build (compared to his GT40 and XKSS builds), so sorry for the background noises and poor audio quality as he narrates his progress. The devil is in the detail, and there is plenty of that here... and I (his son) marvel at what he achieves - it's totally beyond me... but I can't argue with the results. Hope you enjoy... please like, leave comments etc and I'll do my best to get any response from my dad (I'm not the engineer - he is!!)
Filmed , edited, and narrated by engineer Ian Cowan.. all as he was heading into his 80s!
Enjoy :-)

Creating stems for library / production music in Logic Pro
Переглядів 64Рік тому
This show I create stems and cut downs for library music - using Logic Pro. If people are interested, i can go into details the setting up of the project, but for now this may prove useful for someone out there... plus it will be a reminder for me, when I forget the correct method!

Testing out a friends Cube Stereo Carbon Race, 27.5, 2016, full suss at Swinley. Footage not as clear due to a smudge on the lens! GoPro Hero 5. You can see my friends footage, following me in the Labyrinth at ua-cam.com/video/m16gOX83lMI/v-deo.html
Swinley MTB - 27th April 2017 - highlights
Переглядів 567 років тому
On a jaunt to Swinley forest with a mate who was testing out the two sizes of the Whyte MTB... and these were the highlights of the trails we encountered (we didn't do them all, but the ones we did, we did twice). It's a 'highlights' edit... and I didn't put any music on, as I reckon the wind noise is better than some annoying sound track!

GoPro Hero 5 - helmet mounted - shots taken at Swinley Forest MTB trails. I was on a 2016 Specialised Camber Comp 29er I have footage of this taken previously, but with a hero 4, and a chest mount. Have to say, this is much more immersive, and the stabilisation on the GoPro Hero 5 is pretty amazing. The fact it's on the hemet makes it slightly more unnerving, as you are viewing it from high up ...

Next time, maybe take some close ups of boiling liquids, carving chicken etc... for now, it's 'Ken Burns' slow zooms... which all that can be done with a single camera. Checkout ua-cam.com/video/WIlmIjMCGs4/v-deo.html for an example of a single camera band shoot!

I have to have one of these... I'm obsessed with them, I just have to have one. I'm planning to order a CAV GT+, having most of it assembled at the factory and then finished at Renner Auto in Melbourne Australia. I've got some skills, but not on this guy's level. I also really want something very much on the restomod side of things, with all up to date running gear/suspension/brakes, a well insulated and trimmed cabin and (crucially) the doors need to open vertically; because I plan to use it all the time. Plus, those guys are just so good at it now, it's worth the expense for the quality and ease of registration. Fingers crossed I'll be looking at mine within the next 18 months or so. There's a GT40 shaped hole in my life that need to be filled.

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station fuel pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime :_(
