Hi. This is Julian. Ohology (oh-ology) is a play on the term "ology", which means branch of learning or study of something. I don't necessarily have a set agenda for this channel, except to share some of my experiences, skills that I learned (and am still learning), and just general stuff that I like. Hopefully along the way I help someone decide or learn something that they didn't know, and maybe even mildly entertain.

This is a quick review of the North Face Vectiv hiking shoes, which is part of their Futurelight series of products. They're pretty decent shoes but if you are hiking/walking anything other than a flat surface, you're better off with a decent pair of hiking boots with better ankle support. Mountain Hardwear Alpinstad Down Jacket First Impression

I was looking for a lightweight down jacket without a hood and I found this on Mountain Hardwear called Alpinstad Down Jacket. No idea what "Alpinstad" means but according to their website this jacket is "exclusive" from their website. I found exactly zero reviews anywhere on this jacket so I thought I'd make a review video just in case someone else was also interested.

Unfortunately I ended up returning it because of the hood, but it's made of 100% cotton so I'm pretty sure it would've shrunk though. Thanks.

here in Australia i had never come across a jacket with the zipper pull on the right side, until i bought an alpha industries m65 and the zipper is on the right side. i must say, i prefer the zipper pull on the left side.
Hmm I didn't know that. Then again Aussies already do things little differently than the rest of the world, right? :)

Zipper pull on the right used to mean ladies garment. Left us for the boys. Same with buttons.
I think it looks a bit big on you, bro... I'm similarly sized and went with the small which really fits nicely...
I agree with you! I actually ended up exchanging it to small and fits me much better. I definitely recommend sizing it down for this jacket.
Is the raven and the greenland jacket exactly the same except the hideable hoody? Will they be the same size?
I wouldn't say they're exactly the same but they're in same "greenland" family of jackets. As far as fit, my guess is they're similar since they're both inspired by the military "M65" jacket, which is to say they're both baggy. My suggestion is unless you're planning on wearing a lot of layers, size down from your normal size. I usually wear medium jacket but I had to size down to small and I'm happy with it!

Great video. Yes Räven means The Fox. Räv without ”en” is Fox. And Fjäll means the kind of mountain where it is too cold for trees to grow on top, also scale I think.
