Automotive Tomfoolery? That's the idea, this is an outlet for me to share my automotive shenanigans and projects with the world. I started working on clapped out American Iron in high school and I've been hooked ever since. So if random classic car hijinks interest you, stick around. My goal is just to have fun, build cars, and show that you don't have to be a certified mechanic or master fabricator to build cars. You can be a self taught shade tree mechanic and ride with the best of them.
1947 Willys Jeep CJ2A - Texas Ranch Find!
This is my 1947 Willys Jeep CJ2A that I found on a north-central Texas ranch. I’m looking forward to putting this thing back to farm Jeep duties and having some fun with it. I’ve wanted a flat fender since I was 15 years old and finally got one! I love a little flat fender Jeep how about y’all?

Meet Dorothy! 1974 Ford Courier - 56,000 Miles
Переглядів 3,9 тис.Рік тому
Meet Dorothy! Some people had asked that I do a video on Dorothy , so here she is! This little truck was sold new in Kansas , and she’s not in Kansas anymore! Dorothy came with a bunch of original paperwork which is always fun, and is mostly original aside from a few things I’ve replaced or upgraded. I can’t go anywhere in this truck without people saying “I haven’t seen one of those in years!”

Stay tuned because there will be updates on the Cougar and my other courier Dorothy soon! if the video seems a little shaky, sorry about that, I got a new camera lens and it had made my camera a bit nose heavy, still getting used to it. 1974 Ford Courier - Installing a Larger Fuel Tank
Переглядів 1,8 тис.Рік тому
If you have a first-gen Ford Courier, then you know how tiny the factory gas tank is, 12 gallons doesn't go very far, especially not when you have any sort of larger engine in the truck. In this video I'll show you what I did to fit a larger tank between the frame rails. If anyone has any questions, let me know, I will try to answer them. Thanks for watching! #FordCourier #projectcar #FoMoCO #m...

Follow me on Instagram for the in-between and little updates going to do my best to make more videos on this car and maybe some of my other cars going forward! Thanks for Watching!
1968 Mercury Cougar Walkaround
Переглядів 7314 роки тому
This is my 1968 Mercury Cougar, which was originally a 302, 3 Speed Standard, Grecian Gold, Light Nugget Gold interior car. Stick around to follow the cars progress. The car has very minor rust, which by the amount of times I mention how solid the car is in the video, it's easy to say I'm pretty stoked about that fact. I've got several other projects(Which you will probably see on this channel ...
Another one with the Fridgette A/C.... That actually works!? I need pictures, Lots of pictures, mostly of wiring, also need to splash a foam mold from your dash pad. I have a 72, had to rebuild the entire seat, improvising all the materials, and would love to just get it running right, that Hitachi carb is fighting me tooth and nail. Good video!
@jcb0249 I put a Holley 2bb 350 with an adapter plate and night day difference, also it’s a 5spd, but since summer, I think timing jumped some how.. also put a petronix on it..
@@martinmontalvo8404 Do you know if our 1.8 has hardened valve seats? That will give problems that seem like ignition, Mine developed a massive backfire after it's last trip (blew my muffler apart) and has been sidelined since .
@@jcb0249Mine did the same thing after I did the head and new valve seats blew my muffler too. So I’m peddling trying to pull apart to reset timing marks and cam on top.
I had a 1973 Courier very similar to that one in the mid 70s It was yellow with white wagon wheels and a lot of fun.
Good video, that's a nice example of a courier. Have you ever replaced the bearing in the steering column? and if so do you know what bearing to use?
I’ve got a reel on my Instagram that goes through that process! instagram.com/reel/Cz6fdW7rhDC/?igsh=MXgxZWxxaTNwYTkzbg==
What mpg does it get?
It does around 20 with the 4 speed and factory 4.11 gears. I do have a 5 speed kicking around from a later courier that if I swapped that in might help MPG wise
looks like the one I had in 9th grade. mine was navy blue the rims were pastel yellow with red pin stripes old jeeps had some great colors to choose from.
Cool truck im glad people are saving vehicles like this. Little made today is worth saving.
The red truck :D and this one
Did you upload the books and stuff to internet archive ?
Can I check you out cutie? 😘
Floor pans look good and a PTO winch, nice purchase!
like it, fix it up. I just bought a 1954 m38a1 with all the 24 volt stuff still intact. I have ordered some stuff to get it going, it sat for a couple years, but was never road titled. A guy bought it from a government auction in the 80's, and just drove it in the summer on his property in Northern Michigan, so it escaped the rust belt death. I've wanted one of these for year's, and i just turned 53, and finally found one good enough to restore. G-d bless.
Awesome Jeep! I recently got a '48 CJ-2A, semi basket case. I'll be interested to see your progress!
More Jeep please !
Restore it stock bro.
Dude I remember seeing that on marketplace and it went very fast and a really low asking price! You should leave the mesh guard it could save your radiator
Like it!! Can't wait to see the progress... Have fun and good luck!!
Where do you source parts?
Good deal. I picked one up 42 Ford Jeep. Not in such good condition as yours but will be fun once it's going. Once you have it going take it to the flat fender trail climb I think in Arizona.
Nice find.. 12 volt alt…with 2 6volt batteries…you have a second battery tray below
Congratulations young man! That's a great find. I have a `48 and love it.
Has your engine got a ww2 top? The CJ top has reinforcement bars on top. It is easy to see the difference.
Yes. This L134 has a GPW Cylinder Head on it with the “F” Script and the casting reads “GPW 6060”
I have a 47 cj2a I restored & I haven't started it in at least 7 years I kinda lost interest in it
Good project!!
It’s going to be a fun one!
Yes, sir, bad ass it is.
I'd rather see the jeep 😊
Keep it as original as possible
There is definitely a crowd for Jeeps exactly like that one. Nice find. Simple and durable.
Hi, I'm in the UK and I've wanted a Willys MB38 since I was a very young kid and just old enough to be able to distinguish one type of vehicle from another. Even now, if I were offered a mint Ferrari or Jeep like that one you have - I'd take the Jeep any day and get to work on it right away.
Fantastic score!
What a great find.Must be that dry weather and under roof.Unmolested and ready to be restored. As far as the overdrive it ups the ratio by 25% but also decreases the power by 25%.My 54 cj3b has an overdrive and looks like a brand new penny but it was not as nice as what you have to start with.As a young man you should keep this jeep and not let it go along the way.I am happy for you! This old man says keep up the strong work.
That Jeep has a great looking patina! Congrats
It’s got “the look” for sure!
We have the same year with a woody body. Very curious on the alternator if it’s 12v stepped down to 6v. Those 6v generators are hard to come by.
I am curious to find out as well, I’ve seen 6 volt alternator conversions sold at a couple Jeep parts houses so I’m assuming that may be what this is
What's not to love? Get busy and rebuild that thing!
Willys Acres has a great parts supply as well in Canada
That Jeep is awesome
Good shape like that winch restoration to run.
…best project of your entire Life, this one enjoy it full on ‼️ 👊🔥 🪖
@Kaiser Willys have ever thing you need to rebuild her,wow great find
Good luck with it I did a 1950 3A it was fun
Love it!
CAN. YOU. DIGGIT
You got a great deal! Hope you get it running so you can cruise around this summer!
You know, if you hold your breath. That s*** won't happen LOl
willies cj-3a 🤦🏼 my wife got me a fancy rag just for it 🤣😅
Just apply a glass anti fog, it works well in my modern car that has no AC gas
Use a sock filled with sand leave in the corner and it will coller the moisture in the air. Otherwise use alcohol to prevent or reduce fogging😊
Pull the vents open in the floor damm!
Put the fan on blast lol
Mmm yes, so my '06 Nissan Sentra is a classic.
Ford Courier, sweet little truck.
