Making a laser cut award
instagram: eleenee_lab
We had the opportunity to design and build a custom made trophy for the 2016 Gran Canaria marathon. It was designed in Rhinoceros. We love the 3D effect of the runners, they appear to be floating inside the acrylic. Hope you like it! Let's us know what do you think posting a comment in the section bellow.
As always thanks for watching.

Let's make an interactive picture frame
Переглядів 2,2 тис.8 років тому
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2016!!! For the construction of this interactive picture frame we decided to use an arduino for its simplicity and ease of use. There's an ultrasonic sensor on the front of the frame that constantly measures the distance. When that distance becomes less than 75cm the arduino activates the LEDs inside the frame and the micro servo motors. If the distance is greater than 75cm it st...

    It looks too high for you. But it's a lot of work, and a good one. You should upholster it, it's kinda cheap and easy, cuz the foam will not last that much.

    Great idea, but cost a small fortune in material and labor. Use metal for your casing. The way interior lit signs have been made forever.

    How much clearance do you allow for the fit of 3mm MDF parts? I find there is quite a variation of thickness from one sheet to another.

    • @lnelab2573
      @lnelab2573 4 роки тому

      For 3mm MDF we usually offset the slots where the other piece has to be inserted in to 3.15mm to get a tight fit. But as you said, the thickness of the MDF can vary a few hundredths of a mm from manufacturer to manufacturer. The best way to ensure that it will fit nicely is to measure the material first and resize the CAD drawings accordingly. We use a 1.5” lens, if you use a longer focal length that leaves a larger kerf use a smaller offset. Hope this helps.
