@@timariddle626 hahaha, i do on my clean s13 (200sx). But here in europe that doesn't really happen often. The 240 is imported, so the dash had seen some heat

@SkUmBa9 its just a normal type x front bumper with gp sports sideskirts and rear bumper! However, I do run a different front lip now that I produce myself (it's work in progress) and want to get a HotRoad rear bumper lip instead of the gp sports bumper soon as well. These sideskirts are also a bit messed up as they fall inwards too much, so I'll have to find another set of them as well. @nylospopculture6541 you can still buy the bumper new from nissan like i did for my other s13. But this one is just an old brandless reproduction. If you dont want to spend around 1300 euros for a real one, I'd definitely recommend Bybakits for the fiberglass version. They're known to fit well

I felt like I had progressed quite a lot in just those 2 days. Definitely took me a while to figure it out, and i still havent touched my handbrake, but other than that it was a successful event. Will be doing another one in june with hopefully a bit more power

@oooooooliver it was imported through the nato base in Germany in 2014. Then it passed through a few hands without the correct papers as they never imported it to europe correctly (probably not needed for americans stationed here) and then someone spun a bearing and tried to take it apart, but couldn't fix it himself. And that's when i bought it and started restoring it

Yeah the prices are fucked, but there are still some deals out there if youre willing to and have space to restore them. This car had no interior and rodknock. I spend about a year and a half sourcing parts, rebuilding the engine and fixing the rust myself. But that being said, you might be better off getting a cheap 350z nowadays

@@dannovic in my country s13/180sx with CA18 can easily cost 10k, and they will look like 5-6k 240sx =(

@SALON_V_STILE_TRIBAL yeah same for me man, im from the netherlands. But i did buy one for 2500 about a year ago, and two others for 1300 and 2200 about 2 years ago. You just have to be lucky and immediately go and get them

Yeah 18s in the back and 17s in the front! Thats what most people run and looks/fits the best.

It definitely did well, and better than expected with the big wheels. It is a dohc ka though, but still!

@@Tacmans thats sweet, I think it's more fun to start out with a very basic setup, that way you'll actually feel what every change does, and improve your skill and car together. I welded a bung in my oil pan already when I did the rebuild, but kept it NA so i could feel what a NA ka24 feels like as we only got the ca18det's. I do plan on turboing it next year though

Will do man, thanks! And yeah for sure, thats why I wanted to film from day one start out with a slow and close to stock car. That way I can learn the car in its original form, and slowly change and upgrade whats necessary for me to do better and have more fun! I also find it interesting to feel the difference each mod makes instead of starting out with a heavily modified car that already has everything youd need (or dont need yet)

Yeah it is! Might be my favourite track since its so big and can have many different layouts. If you look up "tor Jastrząb radom" on google, you can see the full layout. Only downside is, its about 1350km away, but its a cool track with a 2 day open track event.

He's running an rb25 turbo and makes about 250 at the crank, or 215hp at the wheels right now

​@@kempinenPC yeah it did pretty well for how basic the setup was! Its running slightly more power now on a standalone ecu, but I haven't filmed that yet

Thanks! Yeah ofcourse, its a pretty simple setup on a stock rebuild ca18 with an s14 t28 turbo running about 0.9 bar of boost with a random "stage 2" chipped ecu. The exhaust is a custom 2.5" from the turbo to the end with a vibrent resonator and a magnaflow dual exit muffler! It sure was! Its not me driving tho, this is my friends car. But this is why I'm trying to get a good setup going haha, we have a couple of these events a year and I'm currently building my own drift car on the side aswell

Yeah exactly, I think i placed the engine bay mic too close to the intake itself aswell. Would probably help if I placed it back a little further. I want to try a friends lavalier another time aswell and see how that does. Im also looking around for other high SPL microphones to use, as the exhaust seems too loud for these microphones. And this isn't the loudest car ill be recording later on

@@dannovic I'm pretty happy with the rode micro for intake noises.. SPL is 140db I think. Couldn't find the exact SPL for the Olympus but it sounded good when I tested it (audio only). The last video I upped was a Miata this time, which is a pretty quiet car. I used the smartlav for the exhaust and combined that with the intake during post.

I have yeah, but i havent been able to sort it through yet! I used 2 rode micros for both the exhaust and intake now, but im experiencing the same thing with the clipping on thr exhaust side. People recommended me to use a lav mic for the exhaust instead, so thats my next move. But my car is in storage for the winter right now

@@dannovic Ah got you.. I've tried the Rode SmartLav for the exhaust hooked up to my phone, but still got the clipping. I should try that hooked up to an H1n next.

@@weekenddrives ah oke, yeah id love to know how it is on the h1n. I currently have to turn the h1n down to about 3 for it to not go above -12 or 14db (cant remember) which youtube wants. But it ruins the quality. I forgot to do that once and got robot sounds, i could make that video public if you want, just to see what happened

@@dannovic Nah, don't worry about that one, but good to know, thanks! Yeah, same.. I need to set the h1n to about 3.5 for the intake. It was about the same for the exhaust, but was still distorted. Hoping to get some time to test a little more and I'll upload afterwards.

@@weekenddrives ill make it public as its not terrible, and i did get both microphones to record at the same time which was nice haha. Yeah ill follow you for some updates aswell. Ill get to my other videos in a couple of weeks and test some other mics out when winter is over

The one in front has a stock rb20det in it which makes around 210hp. the one with the camera on it is pretty much stock with a little more boost at around 180hp or so, but I'm currently building an rb25neo for that one!

Car sounds terrible 😂 but other then that, way better then gopros internal mics
