    How long will the should straps last if you are doing a lot of welding with 3/16” 6010 rods? I am interested in the system but I feel it’s going to burn away over a short period of time. Gloves and FR jackets/sleeves last me about 3 weeks.

    I have purchased the Optrel Swiss air and I am severely disappointed in it. I can still smell particulate coming through the mask, and the filters last sometimes less than 8 hrs before beeping at you indicating the filter needs replaced.

      @OptrelUS 3 місяці тому

      Hi Mike, we're sorry to hear about your disappointment! Our Swiss Air filters don't filter out smell, only particulates, so if you are looking to filter out smells you would need our Mountain Breeze Pre-Filters. Using the standard pre-filters as well will also extend the life of your particle filter, however, the lifetime of a particle filter varies depending on the environment you are in and how much particulates it is filtering out. Please feel free to reach out to us through our website if you have any additional questions!

      @@OptrelUS I am using the pre filters too. Those are the ones I’m talking about only lasting sometimes less than 8 hrs. Before it starts beeping at me with the indicator that my filter is used up. And also, if I can smell fumes, that is an indicator that there is particles coming through. Your excuse is invalid. There is nothing to smell without there being scent particles (however small those particles would be) coming through.

    Don't waste your money on this panoramic view type helmet. It's like sticking 1 finger very close to your face and looking in between. Also headgear falls to stay up over 3 months of use. Another thing is while using a cutting torch, the shade won't stop adjusting on auto. Manuel only goes down to shade 7. 32yrs experience here. Going to try the Esab A60 next.

    My major concern about the Optrel Panoramaxx CLT hoods which has held me back from buying one, is the Permanent non replaceable batteries that last only 300 to 500 cycles. They also Use a Micro USB to charge which are a notoriously flimsy connection, I'd expect USB C from an industrial product. There are a lot of people who have a dead helmet after 2 years, but even if it's 3 or 4 years with the last year charging your hood all the time because your battery barly holds a charge this is just a bad experience I know people that this exact situation happened to. after 3 years they ended up having to switch back to their 10 Year old Speedglas Bad experience for the welder. When i went looking for pricing on a replacement ADF cartridge thats not even available as a spare part so you have to buy an entirely new hood WHEN the battery dies because it will die. You might put big hours 8 hours a day under the hood good luck getting past 18 months. Maybe you only weld 1 hour a day you better be paranoid about charging not just charging to top but waiting for it to get to a low state before using one of your "Charge Cycle" Just Two terrible decesions that turn a definite buy into I think ill pass. Which is a pity because they do provide great vision, but reliability and keeping your hood operational are just as important. What do you do if your batteries die midday, with a Speedglas or anyother hood you swap batteries. If you have had this hood for 2 years and your now spending as much time charging as you are under the hood welding no doubt using a backup hood. What welder is going to want to pay a premium for a disposable hood.

    This helmet sucks. Headgear won't stay up and trying to use a cutting torch is a nightmare. Shade won't stay and it's too dark, even if you adjust the shade tronic. Also it's not long enough to keep your neck from getting burned. DO NOT BUY! 32YRS EXPERIENCE.

    MARKETING DEPT: I've been welding for 31 yrs. I was researching your newest helmets, and realized how confusing the helmet names are. The helix should of just been called a Panoramaxx with flip up. Hard hat should have been an option, rather than standard. I'm going to purchase the Helix Clt and remove the hard hat for the weight aspect, instead of purchasing a Panoramaxx Clt. You never know when you might nedd that flip up. Love what you all having been doing in your R & D dept..
