Dusty Roads SXS Club August ride
Dusty Roads SXS Club ride. Great ride despite my mechanical issues. Street tires were hard on the machine. Too much grip, too hard on the belt. The caster/camber on KRX’s makes them fight too hard with that much surface area. They are a one and done

How do you like it after 2 years?
I love it. I've probably used it 40 times since this video. It even takes on choppier water and small raids with no problems. My parents and a buddy have also bought them since then.
@@atcdan133 Thanks I may be picking one up. Have you tried to standup and fish?
@@keymedian2I have not but I’m 6’5” 280. I see that going poorly😂
Was your belt overheating in the KRX? We had that problem at Hatfield & McCoy trails last month.
It didn’t show any hotter on the belt temp but I believe it got glazed over. I tried running street tires on this ride since it’s primarily roads. I think they had so much grip and a much bigger contact patch that they made the belt slip throughout the day
@@atcdan133 Yeah, that makes sense. I never thought of street tires on, that's an interesting idea🤔 I've just got older smaller tires that I put on to drive to the lake and back occasionally.
I’m not going to run them again
Good video. Tnx. What type and brand is your cargo box, looks great, also what's the brand of the sound bar?

It’s from tractor supply. You have to do a couple modifications but it’s not hard. Search tractor supply toolbox krx1000. It may even be on youtube. My soundbar is an ecoxgear
Me and my friend Phil are going to be a parade for it
Sweet! Got it done just in time for PRIDE month, congrats!
Where are you guys out of is ohio?
Yes. Holmes County
Yep. This club just started and it’s based out of a conservation and beagle club. They do these backroad rides (“dusty roads”) to get people out together hanging out and drawing interest with the eventual goal of getting organized trail trips going. These are a fun, anybody can go type event.
All you did was ride on roads.

Best way to make the shocks better is charge the nitrogen in the shock. The are supposed to be 200 psi. On the Krx. This is why you lose ride height. Not the springs. Have a professional service the shocks. Should be redone every 1500 to 2000 miles depending on how aggressive you ride.
Do you have the part number for the tractor supply box?

I see they still don't care if people drink there. Last time I was at that place I almost got hit three times by drunks holding beers in their hands and running people off the trails. Never going back.
In moderation they don't seem to mind. They'll jump your shit if they know you are being an idiot or if you are littering.
Just like you’d expect another shit video by ATCdann133. Hold onto your seats, because this time we're going retro with none other than the obsolete relic of editing software, Windows Movie Maker 2003. That's right, it's like watching a silent film but with less charm, and definitely more cringe. Now, about that music. It's a veritable cornucopia of corny tunes that make you wonder if ATCdann133 has suddenly decided to pursue a career in comedy. The soundtrack is so laughably bad, it's like an unending punchline without the joke. As for the video content itself, it's a cringe-fest of epic proportions. A band of beer-guzzling, ATV riding bros wreaking havoc in the peaceful woods, all while their wives get a weekend off to indulge in wine and antidepressants. From start to finish, it's a masterclass in mediocrity, a testament to the beauty of simplicity - only this time, we're left cringing more than chuckling. It's like watching a train wreck in slow motion, you want to look away, but the sheer absurdity of it all keeps you glued to the screen.
I made the video 😅 @ 4:00
That was a great day.
getting ready to go ride here in June are we allowed to bring beer?
We have every time and had no issues. Great place to ride. They don’t care about night riding either.
@@atcdan133 awesome!! There isn’t anything better than a good cold beer on a trail. Thank you for the information.
@@88bkeith There are some great trails with awesome overlooks in that area. Let me know how you like it.
What size trailer do you use for your krx?
14’ but 12 would be fine. I had the trailer before the krx.
@atcdan133 thanks man. Just bought my krx 1000 yesterday and am needing to go get a trailer. Was looking at a 3500 gvwr 6x12, as I have the krx SE (130.1 inches(10.8 feet) long and 68.1 inches (5.6 feet) wide) wasn't sure if that would give me any issues
@@joshc6010 you just have to subtract the trailer weight from that 3500 and see your usable. These get heavy when you start adding accessories. Mine weighs 2400 now.
Good to see people prepared. See some overlap items but good kit. 👍
Thanks. It baffles me when I see people riding with nothing to help them in a bind
is your 8" and 3.75" measurement to the top of the locking ring or to where the spring sits? how have you liked the ride now that you have more time with them?
Great tip on the gear tie.
Dude consistently produces some the worst content you can find on UA-cam. The “cringe factor” on this video is quite high and the still shots were just terrible. Video editing looks like it done on Windows XP. You can trust me that this guy is a true POS and easily 50lbs heavier than the last time I saw him.
Lol. Only my true friends will understand this.
Thanks for the great review! Glad you were able to keep ridin! - Slug Family
Be sure to use loctite on the nuts as they are not self locking like the o.e.m.
I don’t believe I did use any. I’ll have to go back and check the torque.
@@atcdan133what is the torque?
@@rumaldolopez5308 I’d have to go back and check the service manual. I don’t remember offhand. I used whatever the factory spec for the shock mounts was
@@atcdan133 right on thanks, I think I found some other videos that say 70 ft/lbs
Are those rock knockers or rokblokz how well do they fit with trailing arm guards? Thanks! Also Thanks for the video!
They are rokblokz. They fit fine. They screw onto the sway bar mount so the skids don’t affect them.
Now I can use my trailer for other purposes. Thanx
We're the new springs heavier gauge in front than rear, mine are marked that the heavier springs go in front
What did you set the crossover ring measurement at? Thanks
Sorry for the late response. From the top of the crossover rings in the rear to the bottom of the threads is 2 1/4”. In the front it’s 1 3/4”
Push pins for the win!
How have your push pins worked instead of the self tappers and bolts? Any problems? I think I’d like to use your way to install..thanks for any information or updates!
They have worked great. In fact, I rolled it once after and a few the push pins popped out when it flexed hard. I think if it had been screwed in, it would have ripped the plastic. I’ve been on some pretty intense rides in TN and no issues. I keep extra push pins just in case too.
Very good looking Machine. I really like that blue and black, and every mod you did adds value to the machines riding aspect
Thanks
Random question. It looks like you have seatbelt guides on your seat for the harness to pass through. Where did you get those? I have been looking everywhere and can’t find them.
I don’t. Those are just the upper adjusters for the harness for where it mounts
Have you actually weighed your KRX? Stock they are 1900lbs; I see you have some mods but 500lbs worth? Are you saying 2400lbs with driver/passenger weight included?
I took it to a scale by my house. It weighed 2405 without me in it. The accessories add up quickly. Skid plates, bumpers, roof, spare tire, tool box and tools. It adds up real fast. When I get new tires this spring it will top 2500.
@@atcdan133 wow, that's pretty wild. What have you done to the suspension to support the extra weight? With two adult males you're pushing 3000lbs.
@@time_on_target All I did was add new tender springs. I’m at 15” front and 14.5 rear with two people in it.
Hey man nice video. Do you think Ivy is a good place to take a 9 year old experienced rider and his novice mom? Thanks
It’s a lot nicer now than it used to be and a lot more trails are there. There are plenty of greens and blues to stay on. The old “Little Coal River” trails are still in tact not far away as well. They are considered outlaw trails now but the land owners let people ride them with no problems.
Is it worth putting on? I just bought a KRX.
I think so. They keep your rear wheels from being pelted by rocks.
i live about 55 minutes north of bear creek. i try to go 2 times a month. its a great place
We’re in the Cuyahoga Falls area.
@@atcdan133 I live in Hudson so not too far lol
I also removed my spring, I love it . I see no change in engine braking .
I recall noticing a bit of a difference on real steep stuff in the beginning but I’m so used to it now that it seems totally normal.
I am new to the KRX having just bought mine 5 days ago. The high rpm's that this machine produce at low speeds are crazy. I have read in the KRX forums that a lot of guys remove the spring. I am no mechanic, so my question is by removing the primary spring, can that cause me problems with my clutch in the future?
@@johnfranklin5785 As far as I know, the only things that change are possible premature belt wear and slightly reduced engine braking. I have 800 miles on mine, 600 without the spring. I barely notice the braking and my belt still looks great
Love the color combo of this machine!!
Me too. I wanted a KRX but didn’t want green or white. When Blue came out I was sold. I’m an Air Force vet so I’m very partial to blue.
Tires bit in.
Yep. They have very soft sidewalls too so they grab hard
I went there on the same day!
Absolutely perfect weather that day.
Nice build
What roof is that
extrememetalproducts.com/i-23887254-teryx-krx-1000-aluminum-top-roof.html
Good stuff! You will love this thing!
I do so far. It’s been great.
I’m looking at getting an emp roof, are you happy with it?
Very happy. I rolled it once and it’s been smacked by countless branches. Zero issues
@@atcdan133 thanks for the reply, mine showed up yesterday
Found em, thanks
I am in the process of buying right now, had to travel 4 hours to find one. You state that you are tall and looks like you made some mods to off set that issue. I’m 6’ 8” and am interested in every mod you have made to improve your comfort as I will need them as well. Thank you in advance for any and all the help you give.
I think you’ll still be ok at 6’8”. Maybe a little snug at the right knee where it hits the counsel. You’ll for sure want to move your 4WD switch a couple slots over so your knee does not bang it. There are other mounts that move your seat back now too. When I got mine, that was the only option. I like it but some of the other ones available now let you pivot your seat up.
Just got the video to load. Talked to you today in devils den. Hell yeah🤘🏻🤘🏻
Today was a great day
How about a review of the underfender kit.
You mean like an update on these or are you talking about something else?
Are you satisfied with these liners? Are they durable? And does it keep most of the mud out? Any information would appreciate it! Thanks!
Looks good. How much did it cost?
$230
That’s looks like a great way to strap one down. I would do at least a rear tire too though.
I do all 4. I just did the one tire for video purposes.
@@atcdan133 ok. That sucker shouldn’t move at all!
Can you upload a video about the acceleration, i mean an outside video (No POV)... full gas start? Please
You mean just an off the line foot to the floor type video? I’m going on a ride this weekend. I’ll try to get one.
@@atcdan133 I mean like, a person recording outside the krk, and you start from 0 full gas, to see the acceleration in the outside view
@@Heinrixch I totally forgot to make that video on my trip. I will try soon
