The remake is nice, but it doesn't really have that IT factor the original does. I'd say it's just getting older, but even on repeat playthroughs now the original feels larger than life. Kind of wonder if the old graphics force your brain to do the imaginative work. Because the new one and games like it are more like you're watching something rather than playing- the older games still feel immersive.

I remember being so dazzled when I first saw this game as a twelve-year-old. The PlayStation had been around, but this game was what put it on the map. Nintendo regretted ever having made the decision to put their N64 games on bulky, expensive cartridges that also didn’t give the artistic freedom that CDs offered. That said, this song was what left many players wondering what more was to come.

I found this game easier than FF6. I am sure which one we think is better is always up for debate. ;)
