Air NZ can be double the price on this route sometimes. So its a no brainer really. You just have to be flexible with delays. Can't remember a hot meal ive enjoyed in Qantas economy on recent flights with them. Not a good sign if you low cost subsidary dishes out better breakfast lol. Nice review:)

Great review! Jetstar is fine. I've only had one big delay & that was in Melbourne when the whole Eastern coast of Australia was getting hammered by severe thunderstorms. Jetstar gave out meal vouchers & got us to Sydney after a delay of several hours.😀

There is actually some decent transit traffic through Auckland, mainly between Australia and North America, and to Pacific Islands. For Australis cities like Adelaide or even Perth, Auckland can be a suitable transit port with good connections and relatively straight-forward transit experience.

1065 nzd is way too much for an one way flight with an Chinese airline. I flew with Hainan off peak and I only paid 399 nzd
