Great review! Jetstar is fine. I've only had one big delay & that was in Melbourne when the whole Eastern coast of Australia was getting hammered by severe thunderstorms. Jetstar gave out meal vouchers & got us to Sydney after a delay of several hours.😀

Lovely trip report. It's only a 2-hour flight but Shenzen Airlines served a full meal, which was very impressive.
All Chinese airlines serves meals on flights over 90 minute. Also your everywhere, on ever flight review channel

There is actually some decent transit traffic through Auckland, mainly between Australia and North America, and to Pacific Islands. For Australis cities like Adelaide or even Perth, Auckland can be a suitable transit port with good connections and relatively straight-forward transit experience.

I flew to Auckland from Chengdu from Shuangliu airport in 2020, it was hell
I also from Chengdu back to Auckland back in 2020, I remember there was no transit facilities so all passengers had to exit and recheck in. 4 Sichuan airlines long haul flights (Rome, Auckland, Melbourne and Sydney) were open for check in at the same 5 counters. After that security and immigration took another hour. My flight was boarding already when I went through. Thank god Tianfu airport is now open

CZ has gotten way too expensive during peak these days. I remember 600 dollar return fares from Auckland to any Chinese city via Guangzhou back in 2016
Back then there was double daily flights year round, now its peak only. Also Cathay used to be as cheap back then

Used them several flying from London to Philippines and Indonesia. Not bad at all, very good value you can have a free stopover in Beijing visa-free for 48h if you whish to visit it.
