Rad video!!!
Great look at the Seven Devils. Thanks Layne!
What a trip Layne. Finally recognized an area when you reached Goat Haunt (we visited by boat). What happened with the boaters and the bear? It's definitely interesting how low you are elevation-wise much of the time. The peaks are for the scramblers. Very cool seeing so much of Glacier that we didn't see as tourists. Have you considered adding chapters for long videos like this? Looking forward to the next one!
Very beautiful. Thank you for sharing your adventure. I always look forward to your videos.
Picks the longest bridge of the trip for a walk by. Oddly enough, no walk by on the swaying bridge. Just messin' with ya. Stupendous job. You're getting more permits. Can we look forward to more videos of Glacier? Hope so. As always, thanks so much!
"Awesome" and "gorgeous" are inadequate to describe the beauty you are sharing, Son, but they are the best I have. Thanks as always for sharing your adventures!
Thanks Dad, glad you guys got to see Glacier!

Incredible views and great camp facts!
The views in Glacier are tough to beat anywhere!
Hi Layne. Very much enjoyed this well-filmed and narrated video. Really like the way you show the route taken on the map each day. I plan to purchase maps #786 and #318 in order to adequately plan future NRA hikes. I've not been in this part of the NRA, so this was of interest for possible future hikes. RE: Iron Mountain Trail I'm very interested in this trail since it used to be the AT. Thinking of hiking it east from Damascus as far as it goes. RE: Virginia Highlands Horse Trail Another trail I'd like to "through hike". Look forward to more of your great videos. God Bless!
This was a cool area that not too many people go out to. A neat place to get away from it all. Thanks Ken!
Hey man! Great video, as always. Have a quick question though: what trailhead/road did you park by to start the hike where you did?
Thanks man, if I remember correctly we parked off Pineola Road at the North Harper Creek Falls trail. It should show where we start & end on the map shots
@LayneComfort Oh, sweet! I should have dug deeper! Thanks for replying. Also, thanks for the awesome content. The trail previews are great as well as the commentary. Always enjoy when a video comes out nowadays!
Shoot, one more thing I meant ask; how was the overnight parking there? Kind of sketchy, or pretty legit? To hike the same trail, we have parked on the Wislon Creek side (south of the area you entered), near Mortimer. As we have only day hiked it, I wasn't sure about overnight parking at the trailhead parking areas. Was there a parking pass or?
Thank you I appreciate the support! There was no pass required when we parked there. Take normal precautions like not leaving items in sight in your car etc. but I’m not aware of any sketchy problems there
Amazing place
The Winds are truly an amazing place
Thanks for the adventure. I could never do it,so I really appreciate you bringing me along.
I’m happy to be able to share. Thanks for coming along with me!
We watched your video, packed the packs and went straight to Hunt Fish Falls! What an incredible area, absolutely beautiful. Just wanted to let you know that your efforts to share these places really do make a few of us motor! Thank you. Happy hiking.
Thank you very much for sharing Lori, that means a lot to me. Glad y’all got to enjoy this special area! Keep it up 🥾
Thanks for introducing us to a slice of awesome Glacier, Son. We need to come back for more bites of this amazing place!
Yes Dad I was happy to share with you guys!
Having seen some of Glacier for ourselves, WOW, just WOW!🎉
Glad y’all got to see it for yourselves Mom!
Cool sights! IMO If you slow down the transitions a bit it would be MUCH MORE relaxing visually. Great work tho.
Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback, I appreciate it! To make sure I fully understand are you saying to make each clip/scene longer lasting?
@@LayneComfort Precisely 👍
Wow- what a great trip. Simply stunning.
I always love time in the Winds!
Let's go!
Buckle up!
Looks amazing! Can't wait to see the full video!
I’m working hard to have the full video out on time David!
Oh hell yeah.
Excited to release this Glacier series!
Full length trip report with natural sounds and on-the-trail commentary coming out on the 15th!
Loved the shots in this one! This hike is sneakily close to the Triangle, and I kick myself for never managing to fit the trip in.
Man so many places so little time! You'll just have to make up for it by leaving no stone unturned out there in the Land of Enchantment
Great video, this is an area that I plan to hike in the near future, thanks for posting 👍😁💪
Enjoy it out there! A beautiful place to explore
Hiking community is the best, for the love🥾🥾
Earl helped me out big time on this one! Hiker unity is strong
Thank you for this video - reminded me of when I hiked this section of the trail. As info, I've been section-hiking the AT since Feb. 1992 and have made it to southern PA. I've enjoyed hiking since I was in the military, and plan to view the many different trails you have in your UA-cam channel. God Bless!
Awesome Ken, you've been trekking the AT for a long time! I'm sure you've seen the trail change quite a bit. Thanks for viewing & God Bless!
Another great adventure. Can't 😂for the next one.
Thanks CM, I am working hard to get my series of longer Glacier videos produced
Nice! I need to go do that hike! My parents only live 1 hour away from the Dragon's Tooth Trailhead. And how cool that you are a Virginian by birth. I'm a West Virginian by birth, but now a North Carolinian for the past 10 years.
Well worth the visit, especially for just an hour detour. We can’t choose where we’re born but we can choose where we end up!
As usual, nicely done. Underquilt or pad in your hammock, 'cause that's kinda cold!
Always an underquilt and it kept me nice and cozy in my hammock!
Great video and thanks for the plug! I had a blast kickin' it on the AT with you. We've got a heat wave coming, so I'll be day dreaming about snow flurries atop Dragon's Tooth for the foreseeable future 😆
Fun times indeed! Enjoy the heat. We’re in the midst of 4 days of snow out here in Glacier
Fun trip - probably a pretty quiet time to visit that stretch.
True point there Seth, February isn’t the most crowded time on the AT
I enjoyed watching this video. I hiked the same trails last weekend. Absolutely beautiful forest! I wanted to get video of the old plane crash but, due to a medical emergency with one of our group, we never made it that far. I did manage to get some video for my channel though. New subscriber here. Cheers! 🥷⛺️🐢
You’re right, this is a beautiful forest! Hope all is well with the medical emergency. Best of luck with your video!
Big thank you to Meredith of Blaze Adventure Tours for putting this trip together!
Love your videos and content! Keep it up!!
Thanks Forrest I appreciate the support!
Can’t wait to see the full vid 😊
Thanks Kim! Coming your way soon
Another East Coast hike 👍🏼
East Coast vids getting rarer and rarer these days 🤠
dragons tooth is crazy with a pack on... i remember there being a rebar ladder on the south side. I love that pickle branch shelter and cove mountain in general. That area is just north of the Sarver shelter I mentioned in a previous comment. Looks like maybe you started just north of it, but I'll be interested to see if you made it there this trip!
Well I don't want to spoil too much but don't get your hopes too high on seeing Sarver Shelter. Plenty of other cool things to see in this area though!
Nice, cool looking area.
It was a cool area with the variety of rocks and cliff structures
I wasn't expecting this to come out for another several months! Now I'm feeling all nostalgic. Such a fun (albeit chilly) trip and looking forward to the full trip report :)
Fun times! I am working hard between training to get the full trip report out on schedule
Full length trip report with natural sounds and on-the-trail commentary coming out on the 15th!
What an awesome adventure. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks CM good to hear from you. Hope you’ve been getting on some adventures yourself 🤙
Nice vid! I've had a similar trip in my back pocket for years, and have plans to make it happen in 2027. Seems like a long time, but it's when I foresee having a month of free time, and I don't want to do Yellowstone for just a week. Fun side note, I was in those Tetons the week before when they got that snow you were admiring. Good times, and cheers to another adventure!
Sounds like an awesome plan to spend a good chunk of time immersed in Yellowstone. I feel quite confident it will still be there for you in 2027 - if not we probably have much bigger problems. Right after this trip I went down to the Tetons and car camped at Shadow Mountain one night
This is a wild trip. I think Joey's videos first introduced me to these places. I'm glad you got to check them out in person and appreciate them!
A One Man's Odyssey x Layne's World collab video in Yellowstone has a nice ring to it!
Another great video & trip. Let me know when you come to Colorado. Love to meet you in person.
I'm sure I'll be back to Colorado one day, thanks Chris!
Absolutely loved this video. I have watched almost every one of your 'western' videos and this is probably my favorite. Really found it both enjoyable and inspiring. I visited the front country in Yellowstone 9/16 - 9/23 last year and along with some sunny days the weather rained, hailed, and snowed. Not sure exactly what dates you filmed, but it looked beautiful. Great job and some good luck on your part. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Daniel I'm glad you found it enjoyable and inspiring. This trip was right after you were there and the weather that time of year can always be unpredictable.
Good stuff as always.. Layne, do you drive out west or fly and rent a car? Thanks for sharing your adventures.
Thanks Steve. In the past I've flown out and rented. These days I'm out west for such long chunks that I drive
Another great video! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks man almost your time!
@LayneComfort Almost to the point of counting down the hours. Well maybe I should start counting the hours now, you talked me into it! 🤣🤣
Count em down!!
Great video. Thanks for sharing. 😁🤩🤩😍
Thanks for watching Debbie Ann!
Great video!! Did alot of this trip early September before you. The second spur at Union Falls ends at what I've been told is Scout Pool. Great swimming hole.
September seems like the best time to go through that part of the Park. You're correct it is Scout/Ouzel Pool
I always enjoy your videos, especially the ones of Yellowstone. What is your favorite area of Yellowstone? The Thoroughfare area is on my bucket list. Kudos to you crossing the cold Bechler river twice at 25:30, having to go back and get your camera
It is tough to pick a favorite area, each corner of the Park has their own personality. The Thorofare is special to me it is definitely worth checking out. 3 crossings of the cold river - across once, back for the camera, across twice!
Love them hills. I especially love that campsite on top of Furnace Mountain. If you ever find yourself down near Blacksburg VA, I'd recommend you check out a place called Sarver Hollow. There's some ruins, an old cemetery with a geocache, and an AT shelter there. You can hike up to it from a side trail that starts near Caldwell Fields Campground if you don't have time to do a longer section hike -- you follow the road opposite Caldwell fields up to where the power lines cross, follow the power lines up the ridge a bit, and the trail goes off to the right. Really spooky place between the ruins, the graveyard, and the Caldwell Fields killings. Also a beautiful section of the AT though. That section between Sarver and Niday is some of the coolest ridge walking I've ever done. The Keffer Oak is near there too. And the Wapiti shelter... another haunted place.
Thanks for the info! There's a lot to see in the world
