superpower by 2020
What do you mean? These counties are quite powerful from the start of the campaign.
@@VikingGames24 its a joke based on the predictions that "india will be a superpower by 2020" iirc
@@theperson_12 Oh, I didn't get it, my bad😅 Thanks for explaining though
This is my next gameplay after de Normadie saga. Very good job Tom
Thanks man!
I don't often play in this region but when I do I often play Pagan. such a good country on the edge of the map.
Yeah, I wish the vanilla map would get extended so we could expand our Pagan land to the East!
Finally India, it is the most advanced area in the game, I wonder how these counties will do in the video for whole map
Indeed it is, not the most played though, I always enjoy playing there.
Baghdad too should be in the list, even thou it is owned by abbasids emperor and you cant start as count, however you may conquer fromninside or start as Heasting and do adventure for it.
Baghdad is listed in the episode where I covered Arabistan🙂
@VikingGames24 sorry havebt seen it yet. Will do thou.
@@daxxad6 No worries, enjoy :)
Thanks for doing auch Videos in 2024 :)
You are very welcome, I will continue them in 2025🙂
Did anyone ever die while leading his men in battle while having the brave trait? I played the game for 3 years and this never happened to me as when i let my character lead the army he/she is usually a martial education character and i give him/her the stalwart leader as his first perk and pick the chivalry lifestyle
Oh yeah, my character died many times while leading armies, tbh I find it even more tricky when I allow my sons to lead the army, they tend to die more often.
@VikingGames24 Yeah sons die when in armies as a knight or leading them but my main a character never died in battle as to get killed but I was wounded alot
You have been very lucky!
Konugardr shouldve made the list, 6 baronies, golden gate of kiev is really strong, and 3 of those baronies are farmland. really strong county. Gate of Kyiv is +2 fort,+2 advantage, +250 garrison, +10% taxes, +10% dev growth and .20 growth per month, and 10% increase to piety and prestige for holder, all at level 1. its crazy strong
Konugards/Kyiv was on the nomination list I have double checked and re-counted points for it and tbh you are right and wrong at the same time, it all depends on how many points we are going to give Kyiv for the special building and the culture; as I did prioritise gold over development and development over anything else, Kyiv ended up with 13 points, same like Praha, but I feel like it should have received more points for the building and maybe 2 points for the culture. I will make sure to do the calculations better in the next series. Thank you for your suggestion.
@ Good points there as well. Something i also forgot to mention is that with Kyiv as your capital you can take the “declare capital of the rus” decision that gives you the developing capital bonus for 20 years and the varangian capital for 100 years, both of which have solid boosts to development. The local Russian culture is pretty lackluster though yeah. If i play Kyiv i usually play as a Norse in Scandinavia, Varangian Adventure to Kyiv, and then play it Norse or hybridize with one of the steppe or baltic cultures in the area.
These are only situational and timed bonuses but it is a good idea to create another category for the next series - something like "extra bonuses". Thanks for bringing it up, I appreciate every suggestion!
Really think you should mention the duchy modifiers from the special buildings more, especially with the Theodosian walls and Aurelian walls that both give +15 % gold and levy size for all of Thrace and Latium respectively which is why I think Rome and Constantinople both are s tier
Byzantion/Constantinople and Rome still placed 1st and 2nd spot respectively, even without the extra points, but you are the second person which have suggested that and I will definitely use this suggestion in my future series where I will divide the current regions into even smaller areas, additionally I will expand the scoring system.
You should consider the geographic around the county as well this alone would put Prague a few points up
That is another great suggestion which I am going to implement into the next series which have been already requested few times, I will split the current regions into even smaller areas and I will expand the scoring system. Thank you for your idea.
the wombo combo of a few farmlands for income and being entirely surrounded by mountains, my favorite games go ( custom character bohemia- grab moravia- form kingdom- independence for moravia- small bohemia hides in its mountains, untouched by the outside world) 😂
@@keltongillanders5736 Sounds like a very fun game! Would you recommend other counties/kingdoms to play like that for us?
@@VikingGames24 anywhere with a mine really, the mines income i find makes up for the lack of expansion, so sardinia (cagliari) , i think its the kingdom of lambakhana in india is another good one i enjoy, but anywhere with a mine really!
@@keltongillanders5736 I really like Cagliari, when I RP play as Carthage it is always one of my first wars
There is just one factor in your rating system which I would change or add. You seem to think landlocked counties are on an even footing with coastal counties. I can understand rating Farmlands as superior to Forest or Hill terrain, but Coastal counties allow for the harbor improvements which add 5% development growth for each level of improvement, in each barony which includes deep water access. Surely, this growth potential is worthy of inclusion in your rating system.
It could be indeed a great addition to the points system if I would make it more in-depth, like for example giving 0,5 or 0,25 points for each extra bonuses like the one you've mentioned. The main reason why I did not include them is that I don't believe that 5% boost to development (at the 1st level) would score a full 1 point. I might change the scoring, expand it in the next series of the best counties where each area will be even more divided - I do always listen to any suggestions and ideas and as it was requested few times already I will do it for you🙂 It is indeed a great suggestion and I really appreciate it, I will definitely use it in the future series.
Rivers work aswell btw
@@VikingGames24 "It is indeed a great suggestion and I really appreciate it, I will definitely use it in the future series." Thanks! I want to point out that since the harbor/port improvements stack their development bonuses, you need to consider just how many baronies within the county have access to deep water. Navigable rivers also count!
@@riseagainstthemachine6079 I will keep it in mind
@@slickjack2618 Additional category will be made, if you or anyone else would have any other suggestions, feel free to share!
Are you Polish? Can't exactly pinpoint the accent lol
Indeed I am🙂 Slavic accent haha
how does venezia rank?
Outside of the top 10 - I did not rank counties outside of the list, there were eliminations tho, but no rank been given to those outside of the best 10 - I've been suggested to do smaller areas as for example Europe is vast and dividing it into smaller areas could bring more details about many interesting counties which did not make it into top 10
I can’t wait to see the whole world rank. My favorite county on the map is Baghdad, which is massively OP with the right cultural and religious adjustments. I’ve done a few fun runs as an adventurer, gathering enough currencies to take the county, duchy and kingdom then develop the heck out of them. Just swap to Zoroastrianism to repair the palace, then swap back to a Shia Muslim faith to get the benefits of the holy site nearby. I also like to then make my own religion (based on Shia) for more fun. It’s easy to get 100 dev in Baghdad by 1000 AD, and blast your tech to the max. Sadly the game limits you with hard set eras, which become the only bottleneck. Easily form Persia or reform Rome or even WC. World is your oyster.
Thanks for sharing! I am a big fan of Zoroastrianism, rebuilding Persian Empire always makes me smile and gives a lot of fun.
With Prague you can just build a castle on the farmland and switch capital to there (switching capital holding inside a county can be done as many times as you want). If you are getting yourself into a war then just switch to Prague for the defense.
That's right, that gives you additional defensive advantage.
I like this series. Will edit my comment after I watch the video.
Can't wait for your comment brother
Objectively, like chalkidiki it doesent have
What do you mean? Did I make a mistake pronouncing it?

Excellent work as always
Yay in première

you can diverage to Iraq from Mashriqi very early in the game change the dryland buff into the agrarian it will cost 4k prestage if you are independent
4k of prestige take some time to gather tho, but good inside information, thank you
@VikingGames24 you already start with some Making a kingdom title is easy Feasts are cheap because of farms and orchards

Thank you so much❤️
In Bagdad, with the right religion, you can fix the palace ruins and it is a very very op building.
Indeed, I would even go that far to say it is one of the best buildings in the entire game
I appreciate the care you put in for pronouncing the Arabic Cities' names. Well done brother! However, "Arabistan" is not really a thing in Arabic. We just call it Arabia + the Levant (Two different regions historically). Good video overall, very informative
I actually have a friend from Tunisia which I met on gym, he teaches me a bit of Arabic and pronounciations, thank you for your kind words🙂 How would you call the region? Give me some suggestions please
Balkh and Yazd are weird choices to even be on this list. Just having a Fire Temple is not really that big of a deal imo, if it was then any county with a Great Mosque/Cathedral should be included too. I would have chosen Isfahan and Jerusalem, maybe even Ghur for the awesome Minaret of Jam. Bukhara and Aleppo probably deserve to be taken into consideration too for their MAA boosting special buildings. And if you don't mind mountains Bamian is also worth mentioning for the mines. And i feel like a factor that you missed taking into account is the size of the duchy that a county belongs to. A county embedded in a big duchy is going to be more valuable, particularly if it's the duchy capital since you are likely to hold the corresponding duchy title, and if it's your capital duchy then you want as many counties to get the capital duchy bonus as possible.
I took Isfahan, Jerusalem and Ghur into consideration, you will see all the counties which I considered in the rank in the last episode of this series, there will be a link to a spreadsheet with all of them. Balkh and Yazd just scored higher in the overall score, that's why they are on this list instead of other counties you mentioned. Regarding the last part of your message, this is a series which takes under consideration only counties, doesn't matter to who or where they belong, I feel like it would be unfair to consider factors like the one you mentioned just to give extra points to some of them. If you'd like me to make a series of the best duchies, feel free to request it🙂
@VikingGames24 I see. I look forward to watching those videos then.
I'd give Nishapur more points, since you can build a great fire temple in one of the baronies (you need to build a holding first, in 867 at least) and the Tajik culture helps development growth in drylands if I'm not mistaken
@@jorisemery1707 Nishapur received 4 points for the special building which is quite high, tbh it deserved 3 points but the Fire Temple also provides the 10% to development and the siege weapons effectiveness is boosted so I thought giving 3 points will not be fair
I absolutely love this game. It's like Civilization & Zork (most of you may not know what Zork is) combined. Just bought the game about 1 month ago. I've just been running around & conquering land.
Welcome to the Crusader Kings family😁 You are right, I've never heard of Zork, but going to check it out now
Great stuff once again, I tried already a couple of the ones you recommended in the last video ! Thank you !!

Thank you so much! Shhh🤫 Dont tell my future series/videos just yet🤣
Krstjani isnt actually serbian orthodoxy btw,its the bosnian church which wasnt beholden to either orthodoxy or catholicism and was strong up until the ottoman times within bosnia
You're right, I made a mistake by saying "Serbian", I should have said Bosnian, it even says on the faith description
Nice video! I would have factored in whether the country was the duchy capital too though, as having that duchy building can be a big bonus in the holding
@@peebsyt2870 I thought about that as to include it in the special buildings category but in the end I decided to not include the duchy buildings.

Dont think turks and iranians would like that
Why wouldn't they?
@@VikingGames24 I think he means that you making a superregion called "Arabistan", while reflecting that in CKIII the powers of Afghanistan will frequently clash with those in Arabia and the Levant, would be objected to by people from the modern region, seeing it as being "lumped in" with distant countries. A Turk would probably not relate to a Pakistani very much, for example, even if they would be competing regional powers for control over Iran in CKIII. Then again, we should leave that for said Turks and Iranians to complain about.
@@davidjames4890 Great explanation, thank you for that. I needed to call the region somehow, I never meant to hurt Turks or Iranians🙂
@@VikingGames24 Should've prob changed Arabistan > Middle East Mongolic Tribes > Steppe Chinese Tribes > Tibet And also should've included the mediterranean, northern europe, eastern europe, british isles as seperate regions(north africa shouldve been split from west and east africa but thats already been done) and placed anatolia in the mediterranean region
@@nmanything I like your idea, but I wanted to call regions with my own words, maybe not giving any unique names, but I wanted to share the way I see them. To be honest in future I might go into smaller regions, even smaller than your idea. Would you like that?
