That's my nephew that I am GRATEFUL TO GOD, brought him home!
Brian Borgman Richard D Phillips Highly recommended The two now that I listen to daily AW Pink was instrumental for me and reading our brothers who have passed on who are with Christ now, RC Sproul JI packer John Flavel John Gill Of course, Spurgeon Edwards Augustine Calvin, Luther , James Boyce
Acts 2:22-28 Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know-this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men.God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it. Isaiah 53:6-10 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned-every one-to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so he opened not his mouth. By oppression and judgment he was taken away; and as for his generation, who considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living, stricken for the transgression of my people? And they made his grave with the wicked and with a rich man in his death, although he had done no violence, and there was no deceit in his mouth Yet it was the will of the LORD to crush him; he has put him to grief; when his soul makes an offering for guilt, he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days; the will of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. Finally seeing what God the father did by sending his son to fulfill his promise to save a people, pouring out the promised spirit and what that love is, by upholding righteousness and justice and punishing sin in the flesh through a man, truly divine truly man who took my sin to the cross and was told nearly 700 years before, the son of God made flesh and fulfilled all righteousness’s and I was the reason for that I finally knew who Christ was who God was and why Christ died, we say Jesus died for you, but that means nothing to someone unless they know redemption know sin and their own self ,why he died who sent him , why he was sent ,and why you have to be reconciled, why you can’t come to God on your own or why you won’t come to God on your own This floored me and really opened my eyes to look deeper, these two pericopes together and surrounded by a good church who welcomed the lost and family who practiced Christ like behavior, Gods providence is beautiful Can’t wait to elaborate further and may my words bring glory to the only worthy one , not to us o Lord not to us BUT TO YOU be the glory! Praise God for this opportunity to speak on God bringing me from the dead to be a slave of Christ serve him and proclaim Christ and him crucified and our need for him to love him and our hearts only fulfillment will be found in God and his creation and his law , his works his glory, it is a life dedicated wholly to God and the life he gave you to glorify him and enjoy him forever Romans 6:6 We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin. While we were yet sinners and ungodly Christ died for us There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.
Great episode, men... Very encouraging!!! ⛪⛪⛪👊

@TheB.R.O.podcast Thanks, for some reason, they did not appear for me. I can only see the response you just.sent.
Just to be more specific on what I would like to discuss in conversation. 1. What is the best evidence for the construction of the gospels. 2. Why the gospels are not historical or eyewitness accounts. 3. Why Paul is responsible for creating the main framework of what Christians believe about Jesus, salvation, eschatology , not the historical followers. 4. Why Matthew, Luke, John, the book of Acts, etc. are later developments of Paul's theology and the Gospel known as Mark. 5. Why Jesus' failure to return as expected in the first century has led to numerous problems for historical Christianity. (This could be an entire discussion). Please let me know if you are available to discuss. I am pleading to dive directly into your beliefs. However, I would ask you to not just rely on presuppositional apologetics to avoid dealing with these critical issues. If Christianiry is true, apologetics should be able to examine each of my points in defense of the faith.

Hello, do you gentlemen engage in actual conversation with neighbors on this podcast? Many Christian apologists appear like a politician going on a scripted news outlet? How do you know that you are making a resonable defense if you are not engaging with others' arguments and responses? Also, what is the point of teaching Christians to just give any shallow defense? I have a difficult time conversing with many Christians because they dont even know or understand the basic problems they have to defend. I am presenting you an opportunity to engage in an actual conversation. I base my arguments against Christianity using the writings in the New Testament. I am also very familiar with the presuppositional or transcendental argument used by many apologists. I have had many respectful yet critical conversations with Christians. I think interaction is the best way to actually challenge ourown beliefs. Are you ready to give a defense? Please let me know if you are interested?
Thankful for your podcast& the way you break things down ❤

I was very surprised to hear a reformed Baptist use the Catholic term sacrament when referring to communion.
Making what’s deformed, reformed Better grab that one randy
Each country should stop the kumbaya dance and each their own religion and culture. Islam is invasive yet they kill ppl in their countries but we have to accept them? No.
We have protestants , that are not in protest, but are rather conforming instead of reforming and that is an area we need a change and only the gospel will make that change. Only God can make that change. Call it out yes amen
Our own constitution here in America brought to us by our founding fathers, calls us to protect life to value the life of all individuals. All humans equally, and we are failing miserably. I pray as the church we can come together and fight this radically boldly nonnegotiable under the authority of God’s word, no compromise. Fight this cause we are DEvaluing, humans in comparison to other humans and that is not what we are called to do
nothing is more beautiful than the gospel The good news that God saves sinners through Jesus Christ. I absolutely am so grateful to hear the truth who we are and how we may live with God now and forever how our love for God and his regenerating work inside of us calls us to obedience out of his blessed grace upon our lives, Praise God for his work through you all, and sharing to us how we are home through the word of God to walk as pilgrims in this life combating as we are called as the body of Christ Love you all
If you want to talk to someone about the churches of Christ or Restoration Movement, you should have Jeremiah Nortier on your show, the Apologetic Dog. His channel is unique in opposing churches of Christ doctrine. I know he doesn't give a fair representation of what we teach, but he has debated 3 ministers online thus far.
Just a quick point on cage stage vs hypercalvinism, you can actually have both in one person at the same time. It usually happens when a former arminian enters directly into hypercalvinism. It's basically a calvinistic "over-correction." They come to see the arminian view as false and then over-correct for it by only seeing God's sovereignty and throwing out human responsibility altogether, as well as other errors. They have all the same mannerisms as a cage-stager who recently entered the doctrines of grace, they just spout hypercalvinism instead. It's a nasty combo.
T total inability the depravity of mankind Sin has marked everything in and through us , our thoughts actions words deed, that we are not made sinners by our actions, but instead our actions will be sinful It is the picture that we are born into. THE NATURE of our DNA sinful from birth from conception we teach kids not to sin, we teach our kids how to behave and still the struggle only gets worse-There is not one who is NOT born into a sinful nature.😮 100% of the time it’s 100% of man filled diluted contaminated but not as bad as we could be , that is important
Having to be careful In this sense, I like what you said Justin thus can create a very legalistic mindset also thinking we do or could do anything to earn favor or righteousness of any kind Gentlemen, I fellow brothers would you See any difference at all ,, with a woman wearing make up vs having tattoos for a male or female
Makeup just like tattoos should be guided by principles of modest, intent, context, and respect. Timothy 2:9-10 advises women to be modest in their living. When a woman puts on make up is it to the glory of God? Is it to dress for her Lord? Is it show reverence? Or to lure men and women? We all must be careful. We must be alert and aware of all our thoughts and actions.
gotta waddle lol
A better question than why not do something like get a tattoo is why do it? As Justin said what is the motivation. The word of God discerns the thoughts and motivations the heart. If a person is honest the motivation to get a tattoo is to fit in with the wordily culture. We are called to be a separated, nonconformed people, not to have a friendship with the world. I disagree with you Joe when you say that if a person has no conviction against something then it is ok to do it. That opens the door for a lot of worldliness as well as sinful behavior. Isn't it possible to have tattoos removed? I think that would be money well spent for any Christian who has tattoos.
What do you call a Calvinist without a beard? Ma'am. Just discovered your channel and listening now.
Hi Mr Magoo
Thanks hope you enjoy the channel
Another great example is exodus 32 when Moses prays to not let his anger destroy the Israelites to God, very good example, it was submission and reliance , God grows us through this

Dave; spiritual disciplines by don whitney is a wonderful example to this question and explanation, highly edifying I would recommend
Thanks for answering my question. Revelation 3:3-6 3 And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead. 2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God. 3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. 4 Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy. 5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. 6 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. God can blot your name out of the book of life based on our works, or lack of works and repentance or lack of repentance. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to what he hath done, whether it be good or bad. 1 Corinthians 10:5 Church of Christ plan of salvation: Hear the gospel Believe Repent Be Baptized ( one thing I appreciate about their position on baptism is they will not baptize young children, To me baptizing a five year old is no different than infant baptism) Live Faithfully until death I am glad a clear distinction was made between the Disciples of Christ and the Churches of Christ. I did not leave necessarily due to doctrinal error. They generally have sound teaching altho0ugh they tend to teach principles rather than clear practical applications, which is typical of most main line churches. Some of church of Christ members still hold that they are the one true church and the only ones going to heaven. I think very few of their members still hold to to this,. One of my main problems with the church of Christ was if we are the one true church why are most of us so much like the world. I don't mean people were living in sin but they live like most middle class Americans. The principles of nonconformity, modesty, separation from the world, living as a pilgrim and stranger, self denial, being a living sacrifice are not commonly taught or practiced. Divorce and remarriage are very common. They, like most mainline churches, drift very close to the world. Most churches have a core of committed believers, but it does not require much commitment to be a member of the church of Christ. You will find very few radicals amongst them. They did teach me that the word of God is inspired and infallible and gave me much encouragement in my young Christian life. I did not leave because I felt I was lost in that setting. I wanted to attend a church where a biblical lifestyle is taught, encouraged and lived out. I found this in the conservative Mennonite church.
I was a member of the church of Christ, not Disciples of Christ.
Here are some questions I posted serval weeks ago. I am hoping you will have time to answer them: 1- You have stated that members of the church of Christ are not Christians. I assume that you think they should repent and find a different church. You have told others such as Landmark Baptists to leave there church and find something else. I agree there are churches that a sincere believer needs to leave and find something different. I have two questions concerning leaving churches a- What churches would you suggest people in a "false" church attend? b- You both teach reformed theology but you attend a church that rejects the theology that you believe and teach. Why do you stay there? Why don't you attend a church that teaches what you believe and teach? How can you tell people to leave their church while you stay in one that teaches something you feel is wrong? 2- You stated n in a previous video that are Christians to take the life of someone attacking their loved ones or themselves. The Sermon on the Mount teaches the opposite. John the Baptist said to the solider "do violence to no man". Please quote the N.T not the O.T. to justify a Christian taking the life of their enemy. Amish and Mennonites are nonresistant, Not pacifists. Amish and Mennonites do not protest or get involved in the government. They would attempt to restrain and attacker but not use a gun to stop them. Jim Ellitot and his four fellow missionaries were armed when the Acua Indianans attacked them. Was in sinful for them to allow the Acuas to take their lives? 3- I watched a live stream of a local church several years ago in which a local pastor ( man you know well) made the statement "We are not saved by following bunch of stupid man made rules". These "stupid man made rules" are known as church standards or brotherhood agreements. I don't know why this individual felt like he has the authority to call the practice of another church "stupid" The church this man attends claims on its web site to be nonjudgmental. This statement sounded pretty judgmental.. I attend a church with a written standard. The standards are very rarely mentioned from the pulpit. They are just understood. i have never heard anyone in my church say they are going to heaven by following the church standard. They are guidelines to keep the church unified and to help people drift into sin in a constantly changing world. .Do you feel church standards are wrong? Are Amish and Mennonites saved?
//You have stated that members of the Church of Christ are not Christians// - I wouldn’t say a person alone in the Church of Christ is not Christian. One who openly confesses false doctrines is highly concerning and I would doubt a true conversion. Salvation comes with foundational knowledge. I would say they are attending an unbiblical church that is not practicing, willingly in alignment to foundational biblical teaching. Any person who has been reborn needs to leave any church that openly practices heresy, that’s not just the church of Christ. - We have to first ask ourselves what eliminates a church from being Christian. What eliminates is the denying of sin and that we are sinners. The denial of man (mankind) and we are made in the image of God. Rejecting the Bible to be our final authority, that it’s infallible. Rejecting the Trinity. Rejecting that salvation is by grace through faith in Christ. Rejecting hell and judgement. These are just a few foundational Christian statements, there are others that haven’t come to mind. - I would suggest one to hold to those Biblical foundations. You will never find a church that will hold to EVERYTHING you do. We as Christians are coming from different cultures, upbringings… just overall baggage of life. But we should all be reforming to the glory of God. I’m not Presbyterian, nor do I hold to there confession of baptism.. but that doesn’t void them out the body of Christ. This is a non-salvational issue. Would I attend a Presbyterian church? Sure. Doesn’t mean I wouldn’t challenge those stances. What separates us is the confessions above, but not limited to just those above. Always go to a church that desires to glorify God, that preaches from the Bible, alone. That stands on biblical principles. - Why do we attend a non-reformed church? I answered that question above. I will add to it. Is my desire to be with more like minded men? Yes. Do I also have the desire to be a vessel for my brothers who are in the faith who disagree in certain areas? Yes. Martin Luther had a heart for the Catholic Church. He didn’t just want to call them out but to be there for the reformation of the church. The difference is our church is Biblically principled with the very things the false christian churches would reject. //You stated n in a previous video that are Christians to take the life of someone attacking their loved ones or themselves. Was in sinful for them to allow the Acuas to take their lives?// - let’s take your negative claim to the argument. “Do no violence” is a response to advancing in violence. They were taking things by force, such as materials. This is not a passage that rejects self-defense or protecting the very image bearer of God. Jesus told his disciples to get weapons. To sell there belongings and purchase weapons. Why would they buy weapons? What are weapons used for? We also see where Jesus told Peter to put his weapon away? The key difference is putting away not selling it or giving it away. Jesus didn’t want them to take away the equalizer but to use this instrument for God given responsibility. Weapons are heavy, and sharp. They aren’t to be used loosely or taken lightly. We must be tactical when using these instruments. Your argument of use the NT to provide sufficiency for protecting human life to the greatest extent. Is OT not proper grounds? Are we not to look to the OT? Is it not theopneustos, God breathed? God view on life and protecting human life is the same from beginning to end. God doesn’t change, and cannot change. The question that is at hand is where does the NT prohibit taking a life in a form of self-defense or magistrate governing? I don’t know the whole scenario of John Elliot to give a biblical response. We all fall short of the glory of God, so even in those tough situations we can miss the mark. //I watched a live stream of a local church several years ago in which a local pastor ( man you know well) made the statement "We are not saved by following bunch of stupid man made rules". They are guidelines to keep the church unified and to help people drift into sin in a constantly changing world. .Do you feel church standards are wrong? Are Amish and Mennonites saved?// - are those standards founded upon scripture. For instance scripture I believe is very clear on the standards of a pastor. How one is to act and look. We must build our framework on the revealed will of God, which we have been clearly provided. To have a better understanding of the person and the root of their statement and confessions I would need to know more about the situation. - I believe we have the right to call out ignorant theology, based upon the grounds of scripture…. What God says goes. Would you call having a female pastor who’s homosexual in the church foolish? If you don’t mind to share who the church is, I would further investigate the sermon and doctrine and give you a deeper response. - When discussing the Amish we have to understand their doctrine. Largely they believe in a works based salvation. They do not believe in the security of salvation. They are known to shun people for doing worldly activities. The Amish hold to a very traditional view in the sense of a Jew, looking to a list to qualify salvation, daily. Can an Amish person become saved or is saved? Sure. I cannot speak for the whole congregation. If one confesses Christ as Lord and has been truly regenerated, they are saved. Just because one confesses Calvinistic teaching doesn’t mean they are saved.
@@TheB.R.O.podcast Thanks for taking time to repy. .Here are a few short responses: a- Earlier you stated members of the church of Christ are not Christians because they believe in baptismal regeneration., It was a pretty clear, cut and dry statement. Members of the church of Christ do not think of baptism as a work , it is obedience to a command as they read scripture. I still don't understand with your reformed theology how this makes a difference anyway. If God does the saving and man has nothing to do with it how does holding what you call a false doctrine going to damn their soul., Their salvation is out of their hands anyway unless you claim absolutely no member of the church of Christ or Christain church is saved. 2- You claim Reformed Theology is Biblical and right doctrine. I still don't understand how you can stay in a church that teaches what you call false doctrine, even if they agreee with 40% of your Calvinistic doctrine they disagree with 60% of it..What percentage of false doctrine is acceptable. ? How can you tell anyone to change churches because of false doctrine if you stay in one that teaches what you consider false. Your preacher may preach the gospel 100% but doesn;'t ubhold what you call the biblical doctrines of grace, is he not a false teacher? 2- In the Sermon on the mount Jesus clearly raised the standard for Christians in many areas. We cannot justify our actions with OLD Testament principles. Jesus said your have hear of old.... but I tell you... His teaches superceade the Old Testament. 3- We can call out false teaching but it should be done with respect. I dont consider calling the practice of another church stupid is respectful or Christlike.
The Amish base a lot of their lifestyle on 1 Cor 6:17 "Come out from among them and be ye separate" I have regular contact with them. Their heads are not in the sand. They know what is going on in the world around them. They just make intentional choices to not participate in many things of the world such as politics.
The book of Hebrews teaches salvation can be lost. If a person falls away they are not born again for a 2nd time. They repent and are restored. I have never heard of someone claim to have been born again twice. Occasionally someone will asked to be rebaptized to renew their commitment. My church would not rebaptize someone. You said being in a church that teaches you can lose your salvation is dangerous. Maybe i missed it but what is the danger ? I will ask again, if you believe it is important to teach and believe the doctrines of grace and churches that do not teach 5 point Calvinism are teaching false doctrine, why do you attend the church you do? How can you tell people to change churches that teach what you consider false why don't you change churches?
Hey Dave thanks for your input My Pastor preaches the Gospel 100% but he does not hold to all 5 points of the doctrines of Grace I would prefer it yes but I don’t to divide over these issues To the topic of losing your salvation I disagree with you that Hebrews teaches that and I think it would be a great idea for a episode so thank you 🙏 You said in your comment that when someone falls away they repent and are restored My position is that when you sin you should repent But your heart does not go back to stone once God has made it flesh Once you have been born into the family of God, you will never not be in the family Joe 👋
A child lose their inheritance. What is the danger of staying in a church that does not teach the eternal security doctrine? Hebrews 10:26 teaches that a continual pattern of since can cause a person to lose their salvation if not repented of. I am not referring to the occasional sin but giving oneself over to sin that is not repented of. Both of you promote that reformed theology is true and right doctrine. You acknowledge that your pastor teaches what you would call false doctrine since he does not believe or teach reformed theology. (any teaching that does not line up with the scriptures in false doctrine). How much false doctrine can a pastor teach from the pulpit before he is exposed as a false teacher? How much poison in your food are you comfortable eating? You have called church of Christ and Oneness Penacostals non Christians and false teachers. You have called out Landmark Baptists for their teachings . What is the criteria for how much false teaching is allowed before you need to leave?>
Look two sermons by Denny Kenaston "Warnings on Perseverance from Hebrews" Part one and two preached at Charity Christian Fellowship.
How do explain 2 Peter 2:20-22. And I know the context. Peter is talking about false teachers and the dangers they bring. But 20-22 talks about their potential to know God and to turn away. Furthermore, I do not believe you can act like hell and expect Heaven. Anyone can call themselves a Christian, but doesn’t mean they are living a righteous life before God. You say know one has been re-reborn and I agree. But Simon Peter was restored by Christ. He denied, cursed(by which he wanted to people to know he wasn’t a disciple. So language matters in a walk with Christ) and returned to where Jesus found him, on a boat. Nothing can separate us from Gods grace, but we definitely can refuse it. There’s Hebrews 6:4-6 as well.
If we see Christ words in John 6 tell us that he will lose none that the father gives to him we must coordinate all scripture to understand it if that is what Christ said, I believe it, Jude 24, Ephesians 4:30many nore Paul also in phillipians he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion , this is a saving work of God , not man to keep it . Once a regenerated heart like mentioned above There is no way of falling away you have. Been adopted and are being sanctified Notice in Hebrews it never says they are saved , they have knowledge of religion , they see , taste, shared, so they are experiencing all the pleasures all the benefits. They are the goats among the sheep, seeing the wondrous works, experiencing the testimonies, all around him, going through the motions yet never knowing Christ , possible profession with no possession , doesn’t say that but what it should like Maybe we can all dig into the text together This would be a good topic to have open discussion on if we can get it scheduled and others would like to join. plenty of scripture we could walk through Pray that will be edifying

I look forward to your answers.
jehovah witness are a freemasonry cult
1970? No bro. 1870s, you're a hundred years off. Russell founded the Watch Tower, and the Bible Students. When he died in 1916, there was a split in the movement. Those who stayed with the Society became Jehovah's Witnesses in 1931. The original Bible Students still exist and have different beliefs from the JWs.
Didn’t mean the 1970’s if we did say that. It was the late 1800’s
Do you guys actually engage in the public square to actually evangelize(to present the Good News to non-believers) or just to engage in theological debates? Just curios as to what your true intent is. And how much evangelizing do you really do?
Every conversation I have is with the intent to disciple or evangelize. I myself am new to public square evangelism but have a deep heart to share within my local area and in hopes spread out overtime. My conversations are not just theological debates, but more as in-depth conversations about truth.
Can you picture Jesus shooting someone who broke into his house?
Are you framing this as Jesus being a pacifist? Jesus who is God is very clear on murder and protecting human life and the response to attempting to take human life, unjustifiably. Can you picture God killing a bunch of people via flood due to their sinful ways? We are never to solely advance the gospel through violence. We defend people from the vileness of others who are attacking the very image of God. Can I picture Jesus being just and protecting His people, absolutely.
Amish and Mennonites do not call themselves pacifists They are nonresistant.
I would like to hear your opinion about Amish and Mennonites. Are they Christians?
I appreciate that you are promoting public evangelism. I think in the USA we are not necessarily taking our lives in our hands although we may face some hostility. Here are some questions I have. 1- I agree that the LDS church and the JWs teach a false gospel. However, what is the purpose of going to mainline traditional churches such as the church of Christ and engaging them? Do you consider them lost? Do you think anyone who rejects Reformed theology is lost? Since you attend a church that does not accept all aspects of Calvinism are your fellow church members lost? 2- If I( accept your Reformed theology how would it change my life? Would it change my eternal destiny? Do I need to be in a church that holds to these teachings? Would it change my day to day life. Please give me a specific answer to this question. We live in an increasingly godless society. I think our limited time and resources should be used to reach those who don't know God not debating with people in Bible believing churches. Just my two cents.
Hey this is Joe first off thanks for listening and participating it means a lot to me and my brother 1 I do not believe that you have to believe in reformed theology to be saved but I believe reformed theology is a correct and consistent way to understand the Bible 2 Church of Christ and Oneness Pentecostal are not Christians They believe in a false gospel COC believe you must be baptized to be saved this is a works based doctrine Oneness don’t believe in the trinity this is a foundational belief of christianity I hope my answers were specific enough if not I’ll try to clarify
I spent the first 35 years of my life as a member of the church of Christ. Although they teach baptismal regeneration, that consider baptism an act of obedience. (Acts 2:38). I think you are going way to far to say members of the church of Christ are not Christians. There are Christians in many denominations that may have doctrines you and I disagree with. There are many churches I would not feel comfortable attending or being a part of. For example I would not attend a church with a praise band that intentionally tries to make worship feel like a rock concert. I can't picture the apostle Paul opening a service by saying "Hey church at Epheisis, how you all feeling to day? Lets make some noise for Jesus" That seems like an effort to make worldly people feel comfortable. I would not attend a church that promotes casual dress for worship. That being said I can 't say that people who attend churches like this are lost. It's just not something I could part take of but I don't condemn people who do. There are many fine, committed people in the churches of Christ and owe these people a lot for my start in the Christian life. I left because of the worldliness that had infiltrated the church during my lifetime, not false doctrine., Also the church of Christ has lost its previously held biblical position on divorce and remarriage.
What would you suggest a member of the church of Christ do to be saved? What church would you suggest that teaches true doctrine? Which ones should be avoided due to false doctrine? What must a church teach to be a true church? I look forward to your popcast about the church of Christ. It should be interesting.
I appreciated what Justin had to say about how we dress for church. We don't need to wear three piece suits (I personally don't know anyone who does this) but our dress should be modest , respectful and display reverence for the On e we are worshipping. Not long ago, the US Senate instituted a formal dress code in response to Senator John Fetterman entering the Senate chamber wearing shorts and a hoody. The majority of Senators viewed this as disrespectful to both the institution of the Senate and the people being represented. It has been a long standing tradition that those not appropriately dressed were to , out of respect, cast votes from a cloak room separate from the senate floor. Our secular, ungodly government should not have higher standards than the church. I think we all understand that the Sunday morning assembly is a special set apart time of corporate worship different than what we do in our personal worship time. If we are in our garage or workshop and decided to worship God, we can certainly do it in our work clothes. However when we enter the sanctuary ( a common Baptist term for the auditorium) for corporate worship we should dress for the occasion., Although societal standards are slipping, most of us would not wear shorts and a hoody to a funeral, viewing, graduation , job interview or wedding. The business world understands casual and immodest dress has a detrimental impact on the work place. As far as eating and drinking coffee during church let me say this from my personal experience. My church has Sunday school at 9:30 following by a corporate service which normally lasts until 11:30. We have young families with small children and families with as many as 11 children. People are rarely late. Eating, drinking or gum chewing absolutely never happens during our services. It is not that difficult to discipline our schedules to eat breakfast before church, be on time and refrain from eating, drinking ( and cell phone usage) for the short amount of time we are worshiping together. Just my 2 cents.
AD FONTES! “If we don't learn from the mistakes of the past we are doomed to repeat them” We see that happening and being stood up for and having no realization just using human logic , instead of biblical understanding and guidance. WE SHOULD should dress for worship to our savior and creator and how we view that may differ, but I notice I want to come wearing acceptable clothing and not my PJs and I once I didn’t care, now I do. I want to not be presentable but the most acceptable I can be. I may try a suit one day lol We as parents need to control our children and teenagers and young adults , be an example and I think church discipline should be in effect for dress code , shouldn’t have to worry about these things :(
By the way, I I was a part of the church of Christ for half of my life. I look forward to your discussion about this church.
I wanted to clarify a few of my comments from Thursday night and maybe add a few extra thoughts. 1- I believe the book of Hebrews was written to saved, born again Hebrew believers. That is the context of this book. It is not written to unbelievers. This book is full of warnings about the dangers of falling away from the faith. Hebrews 2:3 How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation: Hebrews 4:1 Let us therefore fear, lest a promise of entering his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it" Hebrews 6:4-6 "For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost (unsaved people to not partake of the Holey Ghost), And have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. 2- Concerning Hebrews 10:26. I believe there is a clear difference between the sins most of us commit on a regular basis even as we fight against our sin nature and living in continual , willful sin. When a Christian gives himself over to a life of continual sin which is not repented of the blood of Jesus will no longer covers that sin. When we strive daily to live a life free of sin and repent when we fail, the blood of Jesus will cover our sins. 3- In comparison to God, none of us can be called good. However, it is not reasonable to say we are depraved from conception to the grave After conversion we are given a new heart and a new mind which will result in a dramatically new live. God gets the glory form a changed life not from a "saved" person who does not change. We will never be perfect or complete but we will definitely be changed and be more like Jesus. Paul told the Galatians he was "in travail until Christ be formed in you". He wanted to see the new life evident the lives of the Galatians. Barnabas was described in a Acts 11:24 as a "good man", not a depraved man. We can be lights to the world and still be totally depraved. God is able to makes us new creatures, we are his workmanship . Paul also calls us co laborers with God>
If we live in a state on total depravity until death, why did the Hebrew writer encourage us to strive for holiness without which no man will see the Lord?
Please tell me the consequences of rejecting Calvinism? I see danger in accepting Calvinism and promoting it.
I have yet to receive a good explanation of why evangelism is needed if God does it all without the intervention or help of man. If I accept your theology God can force me against my will to buy tracts and them force me to pass them out to people who do not want to receive them but they will receive them against their will., Against their will, they will read the tract and then against their will become born again. At this point they will repent and they are on their way to heaven weather they want to go there or not. They have been given a one way ticket to heaven, there are on there way with not way to get off the train. Am I understand this correctly. By they way I do think God can use tracts to reach people, if they are fertile ground and want to be reached.
With the child eating analogy. God is force feeding us?
You make choice that you have no choice in making? Contradictory
Kinda like saying God is sovereign and you are sin natured but you choose God to save you? Contradictory. We believe we make choices that are aligned by our will which is solely rooted in the nature of man.
I believe we were created with a free will to choose to accept salvation. It is available to all who choose to be followers of God. Otherwise we are robots. I can't see how God would take pleasure from obedient children who are forced against their will to obey him.
@@davehallam3639 he’s not forcing anyone against there will. He is changing the nature of a man from wrath to regeneration. You only choose because God chooses you first. I don’t disagree with man having a will, and freely choosing. Man will not and cannot due to his nature choose what is truly good which is God alone till God alone preforms a miraculous change in man. What part do you believe you play in your salvation?
I chose to accept that Jesus is the son of God who died for my sins. I called on the Lord and repented of my sins. I strive with Gods help to be faithful til death. I can choose to sin willfully. If I do so I will not go to heaven when I die
@@davehallam3639 does faith come before or after regeneration?
Do you evangelize against your will? Does God force you to evangelize to help force people to be saved who do not want to be saved?
Please explain how personal evangelism fits into your theology
We believe that God alone does the saving without any cooperation of man God has called us to be faithful and share the gospel message I do not know who the elect are so I share the message with everyone trusting God‘s sovereign will
You still have not explained the need for evangelism God does not need the cooperation of man to carry out his work
@@davehallam3639 he doesn’t need anyone or anything. But God does not go against what He says and how His will be done. God commands His people to proclaim the good news of Christ. So, why do we do it. Because we love God and desire to obey His commands.
Luke 13:24. STRIVE to enter into the straight gate for many I say unto you will seek to enter in and shall not. Why would he tell us to Strive for something we cannot atain?
The problem is I am not respected. I claim I can prove God exists and I expected tea, coffee, biscuits and a pleasant conversation and instead I am trying to overcome the most severe and devastating censorship in history trying to save lives with knowledge. Do you believe me? I am talking about reality that is happening in front of your eyes, here and now. I am not religious and I know God exists. Forget about religion, I am not talking about religion, I want to end religion, I was and I am a victim of religion, I need to end religion for God's sake. I am talking about God, the intelligent creator of the universe. What, who or how is this God for the moment it doesn't matter, what is important is to determine with arguments if God exists and atheism is false. The only question atheists should be interested in is "does God exist?", that means "was the universe created from an eternal intelligent entity?", did God decide to create the universe?. Everything makes sense if intelligent reality was created from something intelligent. God is substance, something real that created what has a beginning of existence. Why? There must be an important reason to create the universe. Was God joking? Time is running out and is eternal. To end the war the discovery that atheism is a logical fallacy has to be news. The truth is atheism is a logical fallacy that assumes God is the religious idea of the creator of the creation to conclude wrongly no creator exists because a particular idea of God doesn’t exist. I am censored, do you understand what it means? To overcome a censorship the information that is prohibited has to be shared to be known. Emergency! Thank you.
