The truth is, I find it hard to have empathy for the Helghast, considering that most of them wanted to go to Earth and cause a terracacide. While I admit that due to the fight between Orlock and Stahl it did not happen, it is implied that they were aware of the latter's intentions and if Sev and company had not infiltrated to save Narville, he would have been executed and later with high morale they would have left for Earth.

The Helghast certainly weren't saints, but the conflict was actually started by the ISA and the Vektans. The first Killzone starts from the point of the Helghast retaliation and frames it as if the entire conflict just started there with an unprovoked attack. The ISA were literally working on a biological weapon that only targeted Helghast in an attempt to exterminate all of them.

The important thing is to wear a helmet that looks nice and not evil. Also, don't make your flag red and black. Whether you fight for freedom or oppression is totally irrelevant, we can just make the other guys _seem_ evil and people won't question it!

I mean, Guerrilla clearly didnt know how to write a proper complex story, so they had the Helghast do irredeemable things so players didnt get confused when shooting the NPCs. KZ js terrible storytelling, sadly, because it had potential
