Glad Captiva Island is doing better after the hurricane. We go their every year and we love it there all the time and when we heard that the hurricane eyewall went right over Captiva, we were devastated and seeing Captiva island getting slightly better and some visitors their. We will be back to Captiva next year so let’s hope almost everything is built back.

I live on the far south end of Cape Coral on the river and we got hit hard. For the last month they have been tearing down houses all around me. Having no flood insurance it was up to me to see the house was repaired. Had to pay out of my own pocket. The contractor was done by Christmas. Neighbors were only getting partial payment a few months ago to begin repairs.

Nice video glad to see so much progress👍. Maybe next time you can focus on how the business community is recovering.

I love love the place but why build so so close to Water knowing we get HURRICANES so now the insurance is going to be so high is going to be a problem for most retired couples.

I loved Captiva I am close in Bonita, it was so beautiful before.

So sad to see the effects of the hurricane. I first went to Captiva when I was 9 years old. It's got a special place in my heart. As a family we are going to visit again soon. Stay strong to all affected

This makes me so excited to go to Marco island. This will be our first trip to Florida. ready to get away and just take in the beauty of what Marco island has to offer!

Thank you for sharing this. We drove thru Sanibel Saturday. We haven't been there since labor day weekend. It is very sad. I was shocked the causeway beaches are gone! I should have realized it when the causeway got so damaged but to see in person just puts a whole new perspective on how horrible the damage is.
