drill the lock !
My 2 day old Renault has this annoying habit of when you set CC to 56mph and the truck decides no your driving at 50mph. So instead of saving fuel I am accelerating all the time so I can actually reach my destination with driver hours. Instead of looking at paperwork try visiting how the trucks are really used. We have depots to get too in time.
I bet there are some police officers in here checking comments because it's so telling

Angle grind it. They should have use a titanium gate.. but it’s good to see that manufacturers are starting to listen and make vans more secure. They still have weak spots on both side and rear door handles. They also need anti peel plates and a remote bolt dead lock system.
And add Van security systems dead bolt
Assuming there is a retarder, will it work while in cruise control, as another resource for the system to maintain the safest speed on long and plunging slopes? That would minimise the driver's intervention like you said just leaving the cruise control on, I believe. Also, on queueing up suddenly, will the smart cruise control handle the amount of breaking, as well as turning hazards on? That would be cool.
If they are going to make a load of noise then an angle grinder wouldn't make any difference, a few cuts and you can make a door through the door.........seems kinda pointless....especially if its £3k as stated!!! Make the door solid, why do you need to have all the holes that mean less cutting time and wheels. You see people in london using grinders to nick bikes, it can take them 5-10 mins to get the bike, it would take about the same to cut a hole through that internal door as is.

Sorry mate, how did they take your van did you have a fuel pump and a starter interrupt or did they tow it away The simplest way to prevent the vehicle from driving off is to have a fuel pump interrupt switch and or eight starter interrupt switch in secret, then they have to drag it away
the sides of a panel van are paper thin. you can cut through a panel with just a cordless grinder in a second. so the door become useless
everyone complaining, at least it's a step forward anything that's gonna slow em down a bit is a bonus, its the firsat one no doubt they will improve over time, did anyone really expect them to smash up a brand new traffic on a channel with 950 subs?
Doesn't matter what you do... Will always be people complaining it's not good enough, can easily break into that, How much does that weigh, blah blah blah....
As a former vehicle theif 35+ yrs ago I'd get in that cage in around 5 minutes flat with half that noise he made in his comical demonstration of how to look the part. That cage will never keep me out, I promise you. come on Volvo/Renault Truck dare you to put your design against a real former vehicle thief. I'm not going to share the vulnerability publicly but I can guarantee I'm in the tool bag or sandwich hamper in about 5 minutes. I'm waiting to see if you are serious about tool security or just using this cage as a gimmick for sales. I feel its the latter. Any knowledgeable vehicle thief will be able to see what I see and know exactly how to beat this so called security, once it's on the streets and busted by a few, word spreads faster than chlamydia in a brothel, of how to bust the cage and then it's curtains and no-one will but it because it's like wrapping a paper bag around the load/tools. I'm a reformed criminal, I help and advise those who want to understand crime prevention from the mind of someone determined to bypass security. Buyers of this van. Bear this in mind.... nothing is ever going to be fool proof, nothing can keep anyone out for long. How would a locksmith get you entry if the key goes missing or lock breaks internally? There us always a weakness and its that weakness thieves exploit. You don't think about how you are going to "lift summat" (nick, pinch, steal), but thieves do, we spend hours days thinking and examining ways to bypass, for one purpose to get your stuff. Now that is why nothing is secure, in honesty I see theft increasing by use of this cage, which will include the whole van. Because of the cage more tools will be overnighted in vans in false belief of security. After all who wants to unload a van fill of stuff after a hard graft at work? So Renaults will now be lifted incase they have a cage to enable them to spend the time they need to get in. Meaning van's will be burnt out meaning yotal like claims for EVERYTHING pushing up premiums. The cage is over-kill and redundant. What the van needs us double skin, robust lock shields and peel reinforcements and dead bolts, that's it no overly complicated and load space reducing cages, no keys to lose deadlocks can be electronically connected to the alarm like door locks so no keys needed EVER. The roof and floor are also protected by double skinning and the overall weight is less than the cage which increases cargo/load weight capacity and reduces fuel cost. Like I say the cage is a gimmick. Unless Volvo Renault Truck are willing to put the vehicle to a real test. Well Volvo / Renault Truck you up for it?

Exactly, look for my other comment, I’m over here in the states and have thought about this for decades. Putting this extra crap inside is the wrong attack, just make the damn doors secure and there are so many simple ways to do that but these fools are I don’t know what their brain dead and thinking about how to do this I know how I secure stuff and you can pry it at all day long it ain’t gonna open, and oh yeah you’re not gonna start the vehicle and drive away not when you have a fuel pump and starter interrupts which everybody should have then it Hass to be dragged away
Why not just vote for a leadership that actually cares for the country and puts things like proper policing into order. Sort out society and all these problems go away
In my opinion every honest person on the planet wouldn't mind thieves spending 5+ years in prison - working hard for the food and shelter so it's not founded by society.
I wonder how many drivers are already at the legal weight limits without the additional weight of these steel doors....... Statistics say 80% of UK tradies are already overweight based on vosa stops without this steel cage 👮
Why not use a Euro snap cylinder mortice lock? That way you can 'Key it Alike' with the vehicle door hook/deadlocks!! Roof rack design that prevents roof atack?

Doors need reinforcement plates on the weak spots where thieves puncture door with a screwdriver, also some sort of anti peel device or beef up structure on side door to prevent peeling, Hook dead locks on side and rear doors would be good as standard.
Yep, very basic stuff but they don't care. Why will they care when BMW and Mercedes doesn't with their very expensive cars 😐
Can they drill a hole right above the lock with a step bit big enough so they can fit a sawzall blade in and then just saw the lock open that way? I know thats gonna make alot of noise and take a decent amount of time but thieves get pretty creative.

The problem with that load safety door is that any prospective thieves will have already done 100s of pounds of damage to the door by drilling or peeling it. Far better to spend your money on secure replacement Hooklocks from someone like Van Guard Accessories Ltd.
Clearly you have to leave the doors unlocked.
