Never thought of using aluminium extrusion like that, seems like a good idea. What size is it?

A lighter coloured van would be much cooler in the summer months, even a white roof can make a difference .

Golden hour is the best time to shoot in my opinion. For me, it is all about the shadows and the angle of the sun. Golden hour plays nice with my lens and camera when I shoot directly into the sun as well. All of my landscape shots are beaches. Something about golden hour and the beach....

Keep an infrared filter in your kit and those "boring" bright blue skies will be super dramatic black. I am convinced there is no such thing as non-photography conditions. Just different.

I'm not Welsh but I believe it's pronounced more like tri-fan and the tri part is pronounced as in trip or triple rather than trifecta.

Whatever works for you. For me getting up very early, and driving/hiking to a place I have scouted beforehand is half the fun. As to how to handle it when the light doesn't turn out great in the morning...well, I am already there and can do the harsh light shots too, and I also have my macro with me for close-ups. Some kind of backup plan helps.

Shouldn't that be Merco Poolo? One thing to remember is Mercs don't like murky water, which I unfortunately found to my great cost! And if you do decide to drive through a flood, do it slowly....or preferably turn around and forget it!

Nice looking van, if you can see the spray glue on the joins rub gently with a cloth and white spirit. The condensation will be the lack of ventilation as someone else mentioned. Good luck on the rebuild!

I’ve got a really similar blue Vito like yours called Bluebird. He’s also the same age. I live in Pembrokeshire and camp in him a lot but have never done a build because I use him for all sorts of other things. Building materials, taking endless rubbish to the tip, transporting paintings, sea kayaking with all my gear. When I sleep in him I just put down a rug and then put my futon in there with my camping gear. It works a treat. I also don’t have back windows so stealth camping is a breeze. No ventilator or panels or anything. I like to keep it simple! I love my Vito so much. Wouldn’t be without him ❤ it’s really interesting to see what your doing with yours. Mine has split back doors but otherwise the same as yours.

I mean when there’s limited sun in the UK as it is 😅 it’s crazy that that tiny bit of shadow messed up the system! See, you’re making the mistakes so we don’t have to 😅😂 very interesting! Need a whole run down of the solar stuff in the next video for us noobs please!

Ok, so I've actually fixed my issue with the panel! Basically the shadow of the roof bar was causing the panel to not work 😅 As soon as I removed it, the output jumped up to 70 watts. I knew shadows caused the panel output to drop, but I didn't know it would affect it that much, especially with such a small shadow area. Coffeeeee 😁 ventilation holes in cupboards are a winner for reducing condensation.

I had a t5 and I mounted a rigid victron panel to those aero cross bars. I installed riv nuts into the aero cross bars and bolted a rigid panel flush to them. It meant the panel was modular and removable if required.

The shade from your roof bars will drastically reduce the output of the panel.

Quick one for you. I had an ecoflow and that light flashing is apparently a fault. I ended up getting my money back from ecoflow and getting a Bluetti. Customer service was shocking unfortunately

Gutting mate, keep chipping away. Could always mount a rigid panel over the top so you don't have to remove the flexi one.

Are all Welsh people so handy? I’m so impressed! In SA, labour is so cheap so you can just hire people to do everything for you so I highly doubt I would be able to do anything of this 😂 I’m sure that fan will be hella helpful! Nice addition.

I have a maxxfan on my caddy maxi. I love it and am glad I added it. I have roof bars and a pull out awning so it doesn’t look out of place 👍🏻

Condensation is due to moisture inside the car (usually in the foot wells) or under temperature changes, containers with liquid and metal containers tend to created a lot of condensation which can turn into moisture if the car is then left in direct sun, which heats up the closed space. I dealt with similar issues in my car and what I did was to place 2-3 dehumidifiers (not the fancy ones, just the usual ones that contain some sort of silicon grains). Or, you can go on the even cheaper route, which works even better than the standard dehumidifiers, grab a few socks and fill them up with crystal (Silica) cat litter, and place them inside the van, on the areas that are more prone to humidity. From time to time rotate them around, or replace the content. As for the wood ceiling, that's definitely a must, it gives such a cozy look. You can try and get some ribbed panels/linear rib wood/wood wall slat, or whatever it's called, which are very light weight, but they keep the wood look pretty well.

Remember if you do drawers instead of cupboards. You'll lose quite a bit of storage. Approx width 55mm. Depth 60mm. Height 40mm Youll find its quite considerable
