But can my 10+lb WATERCOOLED Slash 4x4 Even Perform on the Track?
Soooo the splash ate another motor. Yeah... I know I have it geared too tall but it's the only way I can get a water jacket around it. I think the reason the motor cooked was the electrical tape melted and the windings shorted. Oh well, I got a lot of hours out of that thing over the years. Not sure what motor I am going to put in it this time but it definitely needs to be a lower kV considering the gearing. Aside from that, it does perform amazingly well on the track despite being over 10 pounds; it's really stable with the 1/8 buggy shocks and is very well balanced. Fun rig to drive I just gotta get a new motor for it. Anyways, cheers y'all!

Lots of great progress today, we got one set of retaining walls holding up a new raised bed in the back corner of the course and a second pair along the fence to more clearly establish a walkway along said fence. I also managed to nearly complete the tunnel under the tree root! So much digging, so much rock, and some very sore hands later, it's looking awesome! Again if any of you have any idea...

I got this for some big ass helicopters, well they are medium, 600 size, and anything else like me RC trucks. I got on here because I haven't used the charger in over a year and needed some updated tips! LOL it came right back as soon as I turned it on, but you remined me about the computer connection and I updated the firmware while messing around with it.

I’m sure by adding thermal paste before sliding on the copper pipe will significantly help transfer the heat to the copper pipe. Just the same as a cpu to heat plate. Maybe just a dab here and there.

Whats the current limit? I imagine its quite low, as in 1 or 2 small LEDs as servos get power from your receiver and not from a motor controller output.

The radiators are behind the front shocks shrouded from air flow when moving and no fans, pure water transfers heat better than coolant boiling is not relevant at such low temperatures. Metal coolant lines and coolant tank would dissipate far more heat than plastic and silicone. Don't think IC cooling system temperatures no such thing as to cool with electrics except the battery.

I have a few boat ESCs and a boat motor all water cooled and am into planes their is a 40 gram 12 volt 5 watt aquarium pump but you gave me the idea for what to use for radiators no problem with a propellor for a cooling fan. I think car and boat motors from the same makers rust use a different housing or even a o ringed water cooled housing over the same housing.

Put your shocks upside down for lower center off cravety. And for a smaller footprint off esc's I use castle micro sidewinders. And smush them together resonlder the cables on the print. Is this a Berg? Greetings from Wim from Belgium

I am using the team orion darren's quick set lathe, but I have heard good things about the team cobra lathes that are fairly easy to come by on ebay. Only thing is mine, can't say for others, wasn't made for 550 motors so I had to mod it as I mentioned.

That thing seems to perform much better than I expected, i think the extra weight makes it drive much more stable compared to a regular slash. It seems a little back heavy because of the overflow tank, but it seems to fly pretty good!

I remember the days I tested my ESCs, on my truggies I always had them geared for 40+ MPH and nothing got really hot. There used to be a lot of great info on a forum rc-monster used to have. There were plenty of people cooking their motors and they couldn't figure out. Some had under geared their motor and it cooked and binding somewhere could've been the issue. Others would gear their motor to the moon trying to go 10000MPH lol and sometimes the motor would be warm and sometimes it would get cooked. Every time I read stuff like that I would try to replicate it just to see if the same would happen to my motors and it never did. The freakish motor I have is a 2 pole 540 motor I used on my Mugen Truggy and that motor survived when I was trying to kill it. I opened it just to see what kind of magic was inside it and it was just a simple slotless Hacker copy motor. Now you have a perfect motor to rewind though and maybe it'll be better than factory.

It was at 14:16 that I fixed my hair for the picture rofl. I was watching the ROAR nationals and missed your live stream. Yes, Lexan needs heat, there's a video of a guy that makes rc vehicle bodies and he explains everything. He did mention the heat because his set up iirc is on a timer and his oven and/or heater elements got cool which messed up one of his bodies. Which is the reason I mention some sort of angled piece that you can use and bend the Lexan over it. To make the cover, try to make a mold that way you can put the Lexan piece over it and you heat it up and bend it into shape. Can't wait to see the finished guard.
