    My tarp is large, it is 4m x 4.5m and my poles are two 1.95 cm long, but at the top of the taro I have a very long downward curve, what could I do?

    • @ethanhorizon
      @ethanhorizon 7 днів тому

      Thank you for your comment! The sagging at the top of your tarp could be due to insufficient tension in the poles. Here’s what you can try to fix it: 1. Make sure your guylines are securely attached to the poles and staked at a wide angle (further from the base of the poles). 2. I'm assume you're using guyline tensioner? Try adding a second guyline to each pole for stronger support. Attach them at different angles to keep the poles more stable. (If you're not using tensioner, please use Trucker Hitch Knot for stronger support) 3. Ensure the tarp’s edges are evenly tensioned, as this will also help reduce sagging at the top. Let me know if this works for you! 😊

    Does any of these hitches works with a fishing line? I want to use it to hang light objects mid air.

    • @garthatkinson4635
      @garthatkinson4635 22 дні тому

      I don't see why not! Fishing line might have more resistance with these hitches though! Practice with rope, and then try with the fishing line

    • @ethanhorizon
      @ethanhorizon 22 дні тому

      Generally, yes! I’m not into fishing, but if I’m not mistaken, fishing line tends to stretch. If you’re using a Taut Line Hitch, it may not hold as well due to this stretch, which can defeat the purpose of a ‘taut’ line. The Trucker Hitch might work better for tension, but keep in mind that fishing line is quite thin, which can be tricky if you have larger fingers. And, since fishing line is also slippery, it’s a good idea to test your setup a few times, especially if you’re hanging anything delicate. Have you considered using a Prusik loop? You can make a loop, tie a Prusik knot with a toggle on the main line, and hang your light object on the toggle. This gives you easy adjustment along the line while keeping everything secure.

    • @ethanhorizon
      @ethanhorizon 22 дні тому

    I've found in the past that I have torn some old tarps(kept for ages from school/clubs) due to the high tension for a tight tent. So I ran a paracord-like rope through the tarp eyes with small knots to lock them in place, and that is what my guylines either attach to(if long enough, they transit into guylines). My tents are usually shorter and we call them basha.
