Or you can just get a Harbor freight caliper compressor. The one that pushes on both sides
Those birds got me constantly pausing n looking around
I just replaced my pads. i highly recommend that they only be changed when the sensor says so. then replace the sensors with the new pads. the sensors aren't designed for re-use after the pads are replaced. because they will break when removing and reinstalling.
Did you have brake squealing before the sensor came on? I have currently brake squeal but no sensor warning.
You save my day
this looks great but I need 240 bar or about 3500 psi. Any idea if a 3 ton jack be capable of this? I'm stuck in Hungary with some diesel injectors off my motorhome that need testing. I mixed up springs and shims while cleaning. That's the only thing holding me back from a vacation in Italy! everything here shut down about a week before christmas and goes until early January. agggghghghgghgh The one guy that is working this week is a machinist.
The jack I am using is a 1.5 ton jack. the jack you are going to use is twice as capable
same sensors on the back or do they have sensors in the back?
It has the same sensors
Hi, I cannot remove this screw which You shows on 2:20, can You tell me pls ? take care
Great solution
Very good
Even new pads doesn’t really have that much meat
I thought the same
Hi . how many brake pad sensor were installed on 2014 Porsche Cayenne ? on each brake pads ?
One per caliper.
Could you stick weld those pieces ? That’s all o got.
Great share. Q: did you need a sensor for both driver and passenger side?
Yes ,, sensors all around
Bonjour est possible de savoir le couple de serrage des étriers en NM ? Merci beaucoup
Nooooo don't add grease
hello good vid...you never showed removing both tension plates....
I cringed a little watching channel locks being used to push those pistons back on painted rotors. If you crack the bleeder screw loose (and put a hose on it so you don't get brake fluid all over the painted caliper) you can push them back in by hand very easily, and you also don't end up pushing old fluid from the caliper back into the lines.
You are not the only one to cringe, I usually use a piece of sticky back rubber on the jaws like the plastic wedge for getting the pads past the ridge on the caliper. I managed to do it gingerly enough as not to leave marks.
I have remuved the piston...
I have build a diesel injetor poptester...i cannot get to pressure up ...and i have notice that diesel returning ithe to reservoir....the Jack was new and never used.... please help me... thankyou

Kevin ...................................... Thank you !
Wierd I made one of these today before I watched your video we had similar ideas. I cut off the screw top and welded a fitting into the piston I didn't have a lathe I used a hand drill. Works great got my injectors to fire at 2200 psi.
Nice job, But it does not let you know how much return fuel that comes back into the tank ,May be you could T off the fuel line some how, Thanks' for showing the assembly
Thanks brother from UAE
Thank you, from Puerto Rico .
how'd ya reset the brake warning light on the digital dash?
I think it just reset its self, I do have a code reader for resetting the oil change message and I may have used it, My reader is similar to this one same brand, check compatibility with your vehicle.. www.germanaudiotech.com/collections/featured-product-listings/products/new-icarsoft-porii-porsche-obd2-diagnostic-scanner-tool-erase-fault-codes-srs-abs-service-reset
Awesome video thank you!
can you record a video of an update of this project? thanks.
Im not sure what kind of update you refer to. I have changed oil 3 times since I changed the plug and the system is still working well.
Keşke sizin gibi bir ustam olsadı
What do you pour into the pump, diesel or hydraulic oil?
Diesel
Wonderful
There is a much better solution available called the Fumoto drain plug. If your vehicle has a topside oil filter it makes oil changes essentially tool free
Michael Berning will it work in a cayenne diesel v6, 2015.
I actually have one of these valves on my F250,, on the Porsche I have limited space between the pan and the cross-member, also there is a belly pan that has to be removed to gain access to the oil plug, and it is a pain.. it is a viable option on other vehicles.
Where did you get fitting for injector line?
I actually had a used injector pump from a vw rabbit truck that has the same fitting to fit the Mercedes injector line
Nice ,really nice ,off the hardware store for me
impressive, nice vid
Josss Mr...👍👍👍greet from java east Indonesian...good job and good luck always
Thanks. Very helpful. Subbed.
So you're the mechanic that has been leaving all those nasty claw marks on the outside of the calipers!!
The PC response to that comment is " the channel locks have the teeth worn out and wont leave marks".. the hilljack mechanic would say " That aint nuthin compared to the claw marks your mama leaves",,,,, or I used channel lock 415 smooth jaw plierswww.amazon.com/Channellock-415-10-Inch-Tongue-Groove/dp/B000189GQU or thanks for noticing and commenting I appreciate the positive feedback..
Hi, is this the 3.6 or the v8? About to do an oil change and I have the v8. Wondering about filter location. Thanks
It is a 3.0 diesel 6 cyl
thank you so much for the video, it helps a lot!
Hi Kevin, very cool video and thank you for making it , your funny and right to the point that is cool, thanks again you give inspiration to many i am sure, i am going to build one now thanks to you. I found a bottle jack on Craigslist for $8 and a 3000 psi guage on amazon for $10 : ) !!! Have a nice day !
Did you do it? I'm curious if a small jack can deliver 3000 psi.
Thanks for sharing, BMW/Merc tech here, I use some grease on the slide pins that the brake pads move on to reduce friction and chance of squeal/noise, just my two cents.
Thats a good two cents,,, Thanks
@@gelquin4476 was about to say the same thing
i think he forgot the clips too, and the break pad steel cover, what can go wrong. haha
Beautiful video congratulations! Can you tell me what is the tightening torque of the torx bolts that block the Brembo caliper?
I actually did not use a torque wrench, I put a drop of blue loctite and tightened it the german way(goot-N-tite) however with the long breaker bar I was using I was afraid I was going to snap the bolt,, here is what I would have gone by though>> 200 ftlbs is recomended for M16x1.5 calliper to wheel front carrier . And thanks for watching...
Excellent video. I am gong to build one. Regards from Canada. Thanks for posting.
nice share ,,,,, i am going to copy it ,,,,,,,,
Good idea for making new tools. I'm surprised the brake backing plate didn't bend first. Mine would cause it's all rust :)
Great video, im going to make one. Thanks
Right ON, good luck , let me know if you have any questions..
I am just learning and loving this craft. It is very hard on my old hands and you sure did give me other ways of doing this. Thanks. Where did u get your wire?
I work in industrial manufacturing facilities and kinda have an in with maintenance managers, when I show them pics of what we do and assure them I am not going to scrap the wire for the money they are not hesitant at all in letting me partake of their scrap bin.. However I now have enough wire to keep me busy for a couple of years, I even donated about 200 lbs to a teacher just north of phoenix.. I also have a twich channel >> www.twitch.tv/bartspar I brodcast on the weekends and the videos are saved for a couple weeks..
Nice Video. I notice the welds looked a Brassy colour, did you braze weld it or tig weld with Silicon Bronze?
I did tig weld it, with regular mild steel, The fittings were high grade hydraulic types and I think that had something to do with the sheen combined with the wirebrush I used to kind polish them,, Thanks for the feedback ..
Me gustó mucho la técnica para pelar el alambre👍
