Churmuri Chiwda
Churmuri Chiwda
Ingredients:
50g puffed rice
1/4 - 1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup chickpeas soaked overnight and dried
1/2 cup peanuts
20 almonds halved
20 cashews halved
1 tsp mustard
1 tsp cumin
10-12 cloves of garlic crushed with skin
1/2 - 1 cup curry leaves
3 green chili chopped
1/2 cup coriander leaves
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp kashmiri red chili powder
1/2 cup roasted channa dal
1 tbsp sesame seeds
1/2 - 1tsp salt (as rq)
1/4 cup dry grapes
1/2 cup castor sugar
1 tsp chaat masala
Procedure:
1. In a pan, add 250g puffed rice. Fry on medium flame till crisp.
2. Add 1/4 - 1/2 cup oil. Add 1/2 cup chickpeas soaked overnight and dried. Fry on low-medium flame till crisp.
3. Add 1/2 cup peanuts. Fry well as shown and set aside.
4. Add 20 almonds halved, 20 cashews halved. Then fry well and set aside.
5. Remove the excess oil. Add 1 tsp mustard, 1 tsp cumin and let it splutter.
6. Add 10-12 cloves of garlic crushed with skin. Fry.
7. Add 1/2 - 1 cup curry leaves. Fry. Add 3 green chili chopped, 1/2 cup coriander leaves. Fry till crisp.
8. Add 1/2 tsp turmeric, 1 tsp red chili powder, 1 tsp kashmiri red chili powder, 1/2 cup roasted channa dal. Fry well.
9. Add 1 tbsp sesame seeds and fry.
10. Add 1/2 - 1tsp salt (as rq), 1/4 cup dry grapes. Mix for 1-2 mins.

12. Add 1/2 cup castor sugar, 1 tsp chaat masala, the fried nuts. Mix well.
13. Store it in a dry, airtight container and enjoy!
